Tulip52
Day 26 from last taper. Noticing a good bit of hair loss and I’m able to eat only when hungry which is a nice change from always feeling a need to graze all day. I’ve actually lost 3 lbs. I did have a good evening with friends night before last. Lots of beer which prob contributed to needing to have a quiet day yesterday and that feeling has rolled over into today. 94-2000 Prozac, 2000-2001 zoloft 2001-2003 paxil, 2002 1 mg klonopin 2003-2004 effexor, ct klonopin, in hospital put on Seroquel & lexapro , 2005 Ct lexapro, in the hospital again, imipramine 250mg, 2009-2010 weaned off seroquel, 2016-17tapered imipramine to 150, 2017-19 100 mg, 2020 jumped to 50 mg a week later went back up to 60. 11/22 56 mg 12-22 50mg 4/5/23 - 47mg 4/16 - 40 mg 6/27/23-35mg, 4/15/24 33mg 1/20 1 mg ropinirol 3/21 ropinirol 2 mg 4/23 Ozempic .25, 6/26/23 .37mg 12/1/23 .39mg, 4/24 40mg 1/24 1mg clonidine Supplements: boron, diatomaceous earth, cream of tartar and Celtic sea salt, transdermal magnesium oil Link to comment
Tulip52
Obviously the beer that I had a couple of nights ago really had a negative effect on my emotions. Depressed and flat feeling ever since. Note to self: The drinking is NOT worth it. My system is too sensitive to any mind altering crap for now. Even magnesium that I’ve taken for years. I’ll go back to the mag oil spray every couple of days instead of soaking for now. reading back ti where my ears started ringing and stopping up, well the last few days my ears are draining a lot now. 94-2000 Prozac, 2000-2001 zoloft 2001-2003 paxil, 2002 1 mg klonopin 2003-2004 effexor, ct klonopin, in hospital put on Seroquel & lexapro , 2005 Ct lexapro, in the hospital again, imipramine 250mg, 2009-2010 weaned off seroquel, 2016-17tapered imipramine to 150, 2017-19 100 mg, 2020 jumped to 50 mg a week later went back up to 60. 11/22 56 mg 12-22 50mg 4/5/23 - 47mg 4/16 - 40 mg 6/27/23-35mg, 4/15/24 33mg 1/20 1 mg ropinirol 3/21 ropinirol 2 mg 4/23 Ozempic .25, 6/26/23 .37mg 12/1/23 .39mg, 4/24 40mg 1/24 1mg clonidine Supplements: boron, diatomaceous earth, cream of tartar and Celtic sea salt, transdermal magnesium oil Link to comment
Moderator Emeritus getofflex Posted January 15, 2023 Moderator Emeritus Share Posted January 15, 2023 (edited) We strongly suggest people who are tapering avoid alcohol, and any other mood altering drugs or supplements, etc. Our systems tend to be very sensitive to things. I would suggest waiting a while for the destabilization caused by the alcohol to settle down before considering another reduction. We suggest people have minimal symptoms and waves for a couple of weeks before doing a reduction. Stability This is a very helpful link, with good ways to help you cope with withdrawal symptoms: Steps for Managing WD Symptoms Hang in there, you will get through this, and off of these drugs. The keys are time, patience, and persistence. Just be sure not to taper faster than your body can tolerate it. Listen to your body and it will tell you when you are ready to do another reduction. Be sure and do no more than 10% of your current dose, so your next reduction would be 45 mg. The formula is current dose x 0.9 = next dose. 50 x 0.9 = 45. Tulip52
Now When I wake up I am craving caffeine.. if I don’t have it I start with anxiety. Once I drink it the anxiety is much worse. What’s even worse is four hours after having the caffeine it starts tapering off and I get really anxious and near a panic attack until I have it. It calms me down some until it starts wearing off again. 😭 Why did I have that beer Friday night?!?!?! 94-2000 Prozac, 2000-2001 zoloft 2001-2003 paxil, 2002 1 mg klonopin 2003-2004 effexor, ct klonopin, in hospital put on Seroquel & lexapro , 2005 Ct lexapro, in the hospital again, imipramine 250mg, 2009-2010 weaned off seroquel, 2016-17tapered imipramine to 150, 2017-19 100 mg, 2020 jumped to 50 mg a week later went back up to 60. 11/22 56 mg 12-22 50mg 4/5/23 - 47mg 4/16 - 40 mg 6/27/23-35mg, 4/15/24 33mg 1/20 1 mg ropinirol 3/21 ropinirol 2 mg 4/23 Ozempic .25, 6/26/23 .37mg 12/1/23 .39mg, 4/24 40mg 1/24 1mg clonidine Supplements: boron, diatomaceous earth, cream of tartar and Celtic sea salt, transdermal magnesium oil Link to comment
Administrator Altostrata Posted January 16, 2023 Administrator Share Posted January 16, 2023 @Tulip52 what you do is gradually substitute decaf for your coffee, so you're not making your own problems with caffeine-induced anxiety. You taper off caffeine, like anything else. If you drink alcohol while at risk for drug withdrawal symptoms, you are likely to make withdrawal more difficult. You would also be making your own problems. This is not medical advice. Discuss any decisions about your medical care with a knowledgeable medical practitioner. If tv isn’t cutting it, sometimes I find getting up and moving around can help. I love to put on some music and dance like a wild thing, or even do a little sitting wiggle to music if I’m anxious while working. Kinda helps to get it out, you know? If movement doesn’t feel right, there are other outlets like writing about it (or scribbling all over a page, anything to get the feelings out). I hope you feel better soon! Tulip52
There’s no getting around it. Caffeine Is causing me to have severe anxiety and near panic attacks. I will now have to quit it cold turkey. I’ve tried the weaning but I just can’t deal with chasing my tail all day. I have anxiety when I wake and crave/need caffeine. I drink it, feel good for about three hours and when it starts tapering off I start getting emotional. Once I drink it, I feel better and the rat race starts all over again. Tulip52
I had no supplements today and I have not gotten anywhere near a panic attack. I still have anxious and depressed spurts but it def isn’t like it was. I did bump my imipramine up to 51 mg and will stay there until I’m comfortable enough for another cut. Tulip52
Last night I went back down to 50 mg of the imipramine. Getting off of the supplements was a great move.. no more panic attacks. I am noticing a pattern and after research have noticed that everyday around 3 pm my face starts feeling flush like I’m having a hit flash then the anxiety starts up. A little later in depressed. I’m having cortisol spikes. I will increase the electrolytes and see if that helps. I feel like I’m hanging out in a hollow cave! I learned I was putting myself in danger zone when I was taking a high dose of Gabapentin with Seroquel at night while still drunk. Just mixing Gabapentin and Seroquel was a bad call, but I didn't know that until I found this site. Tulip52
Having another issue. I was using boron to balance my hormones for years. I suspected it, along with the other supplements I had been also taking for years was causing my anxiety to worsen since I started tapering so I quit all of the supplements, including boron. Now I’m noticing hormonal issues again. My insomnia, anxiety and sadness is worse. I know it’s from quitting the boron bc it’s exactly how I felt when I stopped it before. 😭 Now what? 94-2000 Prozac, 2000-2001 zoloft 2001-2003 paxil, 2002 1 mg klonopin 2003-2004 effexor, ct klonopin, in hospital put on Seroquel & lexapro , 2005 Ct lexapro, in the hospital again, imipramine 250mg, 2009-2010 weaned off seroquel, 2016-17tapered imipramine to 150, 2017-19 100 mg, 2020 jumped to 50 mg a week later went back up to 60. 11/22 56 mg 12-22 50mg 4/5/23 - 47mg 4/16 - 40 mg 6/27/23-35mg, 4/15/24 33mg 1/20 1 mg ropinirol 3/21 ropinirol 2 mg 4/23 Ozempic .25, 6/26/23 .37mg 12/1/23 .39mg, 4/24 40mg 1/24 1mg clonidine Supplements: boron, diatomaceous earth, cream of tartar and Celtic sea salt, transdermal magnesium oil Link to comment
Tulip52
One of the main reasons I want to get completely off of this medication is bc after I take it I get this combination of feeling sleepy and restless legs. I actually dread night time bc if this. 94-2000 Prozac, 2000-2001 zoloft 2001-2003 paxil, 2002 1 mg klonopin 2003-2004 effexor, ct klonopin, in hospital put on Seroquel & lexapro , 2005 Ct lexapro, in the hospital again, imipramine 250mg, 2009-2010 weaned off seroquel, 2016-17tapered imipramine to 150, 2017-19 100 mg, 2020 jumped to 50 mg a week later went back up to 60. 11/22 56 mg 12-22 50mg 4/5/23 - 47mg 4/16 - 40 mg 6/27/23-35mg, 4/15/24 33mg 1/20 1 mg ropinirol 3/21 ropinirol 2 mg 4/23 Ozempic .25, 6/26/23 .37mg 12/1/23 .39mg, 4/24 40mg 1/24 1mg clonidine Supplements: boron, diatomaceous earth, cream of tartar and Celtic sea salt, transdermal magnesium oil Link to comment
