sjd11t
I am terrified I may have taken a not so bad or can live with case and destroyed myself. Trying to help I have taken: Inositol (2 days, 5 mg each day) An arginine, cituline booster ( 2 days by directions, but had ginseng!) Zinc (25 mg, 2 non-consecutive) VITAMIN d ( 1x with the zinc) I tried to masturbate today and was completely limp. Have not had thar happen since 1st month after zoloft. Moderator Emeritus manymoretodays Posted February 3, 2021 Moderator Emeritus Share Posted February 3, 2021 Hi sjd11t, Hi and thanks for getting going with an Introduction, and doing your signature. Any other WD(withdrawal) symptoms? Dr Glenmullen's withdrawal symptom checklist PSSD Post-SSRI sexual dysfunction And then one member's story of success in healing: PSSD: success story for PSSD and ongoing discontinuation symptoms, please read You have probably not permanently ruined your progress or situation. Many do experience what we refer to as neuroemotions, when in WD. Emotions that seem somewhat amplified, and so perhaps that might be part of what is going on now. As well, as obsessing over symptoms: Health anxiety, hypochondria, and obsession with symptoms Do keep in mind too, that we are a family friendly site too, with all kinds and ages of people joining, and looking on. And so......sometimes, it might be better to just generalize your PSSD symptoms......no need to go into great detail. We generally recommend that you only try one new thing at a time, and then at a low dose, as well, so that you might be able to determine what might be causing what. Hoping that you might have seen improvement again.......and it sounds like you had improvement already since you came off the Zoloft. So perhaps was just a one time thing. I don't know. And then, we don't recommend a lot of supplements on SA, as many members report being sensitive to them due to our over-reactive nervous systems, but two supplements that we do recommend are magnesium and omega 3 (fish oil). Many people find these to be calming to the nervous system. Magnesium, nature's calcium channel blocker Omega-3 fatty acids (fish oil) And welcome aboard, sjd11t. sjd11t
Hi all, I came off of sertraline 5 months ago. Since that time I have had lots of weird and scary things occurring with my nerves. I wake up sometimes and it feels like my arms are dead. I get tingly and numb feelings in my limbs daily now. Docs don't seem to know what is going on. I had bloodwork that looks fine l. Next up is a neurologist. Has anyone experienced this? Are my neurons just messed up and healing fronm the AD? 2008 - 2013 Sertraline 50 mg June 2017 - August 2019 Sertraline 25 mg August 2020 - Sept 2020 Sertraline 12.5 mg Link to comment
Lucy1983
My first experience with nerve issues was in 2000 after stopping drugs. It was very scary and lasted years. I had no idea at the time what it was and unfortunately I continued on/off drugs due to anxiety from ongoing WD. It was a vicious circle until I finally found the truth on SA. I don't see a problem getting checked out by a neurologist but I believe your CNS is damaged and just needs to heal. sjd11t
Thank you. I am so glad I found some info on here. I am going to the neurologist but the lack of concern at the ER (twice) and my PCP has me thinking I will be told everything looks fine. These drugs are awful for how they mess with our symptoms this way. So I am looking at years potentially? What do you recommend for a diet? I am noticing sensitivities to certain things. 2008 - 2013 Sertraline 50 mg June 2017 - August 2019 Sertraline 25 mg August 2020 - Sept 2020 Sertraline 12.5 mg Link to comment
Lucy1983
Good morning @sjd11t. I suggest researching this site as much as possible because you will find invaluable information here about symptoms and diet. We in WD share many commonalities but we are also different in the ways our bodies react during this time. Some are more sensitive to foods and supplements than others. I decided not to change my diet yet because I am just too lazy to deal with it. If I had someone to shop and cook for me maybe I would:) As to time frames of symptoms, it's anyone's guess. If the docs can't find anything "wrong" with you they'll probably think it is all in your head and dismiss you. Or, tell you to get back on your drugs and possibly even prescribe additional drugs. Hi Sjd11t, These are common symptoms and are usually WD. I had them a lot and worried about MS (one half of my body - left or right - would be pins and needles). They got better. Likely nothing wrong that can be tested for but at least peace of mind if you can get tested. "Nothing so small as a moment is insurmountable, and moments are all that we have. sjd11t
It has been 5 months now. It got gradually better until the new year. Then dumbly I became impatient that it wasn't healing fast enough and I tried a few supplements and I have been set back a bit. I hope it isn't permanent. I don't think so as I had a positive romantic experience (a post SSRI new normal) recently so I think ill be ok. I will not be taking anything else but vitamin C from now on. Current PSSD symptoms: numbness, very low libido, occasional ED. Other symptoms: tingly, sore, numb limbs, face, head intermittently- especially during sleep. Do not feel emotions as strongly, feel blunted and not as sharp mentally. I'm very stressed so that may be at play too. Thank you all for what you do here. I find this site to be the most positive and your approach to a slow recovery is what I need. 2008 - 2013 Sertraline 50 mg June 2017 - August 2019 Sertraline 25 mg August 2020 - Sept 2020 Sertraline 12.5 mg Link to comment
