It seems I continue to become better. But I need to be careful. A few days before, I thought that I could drink a little alcohol and it made me worse. Bladder issues became stronger. I'm lucky that it is becoming better now. I was really scared. It was a mistake. It is difficult to understand that I can't drink alcohol after two years without AD. Just interesting - will I be able to become the same person?

25 November 2020 - 22 December 2020 - Zoloft (3 weeks - 12.5 mg, 1 week - 25 mg); 1 January 2021 - Zoloft (12.5 mg)

Stopping by to give you hope.  I had bladder issues while tapering benzos.  It got to the point where I had to wear incontinence pads and even peed the bed a couple times. I thought it was permanent and had no idea it was from withdrawl.   I'm now 6 months off the benzo and it is completely gone.  Luckily for me antidepressant withdrawl did not cause any bladder issues.  I wanted to reassure you that it absolutely does get better.

2003- started 2.5 mgs Celexa

Over the years upped to 10mgs.

2003 - .5mgs xanax as needed.  Took about 2mgs a day for 15 years.  Weaned off over 4 years.  Last xanax June 4th 2022.

July 20 2022- Started weaning Celexa

August 29th 2022 -Stopped 2.5 mg Celexa

Fine for 4-5 weeks and started having panic attacks.

Sept 26 2022-Reinstated 5mgs celexa and started HORRIBLE side effects immediately.

Stayed on for almost 5 weeks and stopped.

October 31 2022- Off

@peaceandloveYes.  I had this for about 3 years.  As soon as I was done withdrawing it went away.  I didn't know it was from withdrawl until I joined this site.  I had many tests done during that time and everything was fine.  Of course my doctor had no idea it was withdrawl either.

I think so too. Because I didn't have any problems before AD. If say about PGAD, it is really better. But I am not able to have sex. After any stimulations, urethra pressure and urinary urge increase for some days. So, arousal increases too. After alcohol is the same effect (I tried it one time this winter, it was my mistake).

I understand this! For me stimulation is fine and mine feels more like a burning but orgasm will make me burn more and it will get urethra pressure. I have not tried sex yet as I’m worried. Thank god my husband is very understanding.

for me I have it some days and some days it’s normal.

For me, it is more pressure than arousal. I studied anatomy and understood that all nervous are very close in this area. Urethra pressure starts pressure on clitoris nervous. I couldn't to wear jeans for more than year but I'm able now. So, I think I continue to become better. I dream to be a complete person.

Hi @DinaDina,

I recognize your story. Just got of sertraline a month ago and now have Pgad symptoms. I’m going mad. I still take 0,5mg AP (fluanxol). I am so scared to stop this medication. Because of severe anxiety. And I’m afraid the symptoms will get worse. Because AP suppresses the nerve system. I’m afraid I can’t handle that. I just want to die.
really would like to know if there’s still improvement with you? I’m so scared this is my life now. Hope to hear from you. Thank you…

2012-2020: Cipramil 15 mg (tappering during 1 year, no wd)
2023 February: Sertraline 50mg and Fluanxol 1mg

Stop Sertralin July 2023. Since Pgad, painful bladder, tinnitus among other symptoms

Stop Fluanxol August 2023. Symptoms got worse.

I agree it is about nerves especially Pgad. But how can stopping Zoloft or other Ad damage our nerves ? You talk about pudendal nerves i guess ?

Zoloft , Cipralex , Paroxetine for Ocd.I started them 12 or 13 years ago and i started and stopped them few times with no problems

2022 june - Amytriptiline , Lyrica and Tramadol and sometime Diazepam

2023 january - started also Zoloft for Ocd.

2023 may - stopped Zoloft kinda fast and changed Lyrica with Gabapentin.2 weeks later Pgad started. My biggest Zoloft dose was 150 mg.

2023 june i tryed to restart Zoloft , started with 50 mg .On it had some almost normal days but also very bad ones. When dose got increased to 100 mg i was unable to orgasm and i felt worse.Again i think my doctor stopped it fast

2023 start of July after few days after i stopped Zoloft he told me to try Duloxetine ( Cymbalta )....i listened sadly .We started with 30 mg and took it 2 weeks.I felt kinda bad on it , but after 2 weeks he told me to take 60.I took it only 1 day and felt even worse After 1 week i took 30 mg and 1 week 15 mg , i stopped it friday on 4 august.

I feel you. So sorry that you're having deal with this condition. I think you should decrease your meds slowly and stop that. Maybe it will be better if you create your own thread and admins help you with the taper.

@DinaDina thank you so much for your reply. I’m searching for some positive experiences because I am so anxious.

I stopped the fluanxol last Monday. I didn’t really understand the tapering. And 0,5mg is the lowest dose there is. So far bladder pain is increasing. How did you experience the pain? Was there anything helpful to reduce it a little? Or was it more the pressure with you and not pain?

2012-2020: Cipramil 15 mg (tappering during 1 year, no wd)
2023 February: Sertraline 50mg and Fluanxol 1mg

Stop Sertralin July 2023. Since Pgad, painful bladder, tinnitus among other symptoms

Stop Fluanxol August 2023. Symptoms got worse.

Also have Pgad after i stopped Zoloft 3 months ago.I tryed restarting it and did not help me.My arousal is non stop not simple to live like this :( i hope i will get better also Dina....but this can take years in some cases

@DinaDina sorry to bother you again. But I didn’t read very well, I see you prescribed your pain in an earlier post.

Have another question though. Yesterday I experienced what you described as ‘if you had to pee through your clitoris’. I got very upset and scared. Do you still experience this sometimes? Today I ‘just feel my clit’, but not the feeling of passing urine through it. It changes so rapidly. Do you still have sensations in your clitoris? And if not, did this fade or was it gone instantly?

I know that you can make the liquid with meds and it will be lower dose. But I didn't know about that and just stopped to take Zoloft (1/4 of the pill).

Rarely. Usually it is not so intense that it was. Feels like pressure. But that's why I can't have sex. It does this body part very sensitive and I will want to urinate for some days.

It was becoming better, better and better. Not instantly.

25 November 2020 - 22 December 2020 - Zoloft (3 weeks - 12.5 mg, 1 week - 25 mg); 1 January 2021 - Zoloft (12.5 mg)

18-24 December 2020 - Teraligen 2.5 mg-3.75 mg (Russian antipsychotic)

18-28 December 2020 - Eglonil 100 mg (Sulpiride)

Supplements: magnesium

Symptoms since stopping Zoloft: overactive/painful bladder, pelvic pressure, PGAD, severe anxiety

Hi @DinaDina how are you now? I too developed symptoms similar to pgad because of Zoloft but I have no pain, just a feeling of urinary infection at times and random arousal! I only took this medication for a week and a half! 25mg to start then 50mg the second week! Rudbeckie 🌼
