What drugs are you taking now, at what times o'clock and dosages?

You have been taking psychiatric drugs for more than 20 years. What we've seen is that emotional anesthesia is a very common legacy of this. In addition, a history of frequent neurologically active drug changes can cause long-term effects that will very slowly go away.

No other drugs than the ones listed. I started taking antidepressants/psychiatric meds 21 years ago now (including stimulants and lamictal at some point). Did lots of med changes during those 20 years.

thank you for responding. I guess it’s a matter of waiting then. Its the fatigue and worsened PMDD I get that gets really debilitating and encourages me to hold where I am at indefinitely. It is wiser given the history of jumping from one med to another, the length of use and the abrupt reductions I did before I found this site.

This was a mind blowing truth about antidepressants. It surely explains my cognitive issues which began after starting antidepressants. It also explains my bouts of fatigue (dopamine related). Not everybody may have instagram but if you are able to watch this video do it! So informational!

I have been having so many realizations I attribute to microdose cycles, and macrodoses, of psilocybin. This have helped me heal and change old patterns and wounds. Which makes sense because psilocybin helps build new neural pathways and make connections. It allowed me to see things from different perspectives and really understand and bridge things in a way that is conducive to healing. Thats the update on shrooms.

on another note, I have grown and strengthen my spirituality exponentially and see purpose in the difficult times through withdrawal. (Now because I feel good. When im on a wave Its hard to tolerate existing.) And when I see how my nervous system becoming so sensitive and disregulated has also led me to make healthier, more aligned choices and habits, I feel grateful.

it was because of the disregulation and sensitivity I felt while seeing animal abuse that I opened my eyes to Big Agriculture and the horrendous life they put animals to. I stopped eating chicken, beed and their byproducts. I started eating more nuts, seeds, veggies and fruits. I make healthier choices about what I ingest and O have gained love for everything that is life. All this has enriched my experience of food. It’s the little things that make a difference.

I have also cut down on alcohol tremendously!!! While on higher doses of antidepressants, I wanted to drink a lot and I did. I now sit with my feelings more. I talk to my body and scan it to see what needs attention. I no longer run for pills when in discomfort. I even stopped using one inhaler for asthma and cut down allergy pills to half since I found out my lungs are actually in perfect health and I was being over medicated. (Still need to get an xray just to be safe).

I make better choices for myself in general. I get out of bed and spend at least 5 min out in my balcony exposed to the sun and letting the photons into my eyes to help with vit d, the circadian rhythm and just the vitality that the aun gives is. 5 min isn’t much but its a huge change for me,

specially because im not a morning person.

I crave being in nature. That’s another things psilocybin has helped me with. I feel more connected to everything that is life (sun, grass, plants, rivers, animals) and look forward to spending time there.

I have gone on incredible rabbit holes as i no longer care to socialize as much. Im not isolating but I am learning what my normal is. I started taking Antidepressants based on the belief there was something wrong with me and those meds allowed me to act and be in ways that may not have been aligned with me and not understanding/learning/respecting my own personal needs for socializing was one of them.

Those rabbit holes have continued to lead me to make healthier choices and changes. Which leads me to what I want to share with whoever resonates with my words… minerals are EVERYTHING. We pretty much exist because of them. Take it or leave it… but there is a theory out there about “12 cell salts” that is esoteric but based on minerals which we know we are all depleted on and are needed by the body. So as esoteric as it may be, I am going to give it a try. Plus, im convinced that some use the term esoteric and others call it quantum science. But in the end it is the same exact thing.

I’ve been feeling worse and worse with time. I cry more, little things are overwhelming, cognitive abilities worsening. I feel depressed, again. I have few good days and functioning is hard. I dislike people and getting social anxiety again because i feel so inadequate. I’ve been thinking about going up on meds, again. I can’t live like this for the rest of the 20 years of withdrawing it would take me.

Just read yesterday's post and then noticed the one above it.  If you are anything like me, a horrendously bad day can be followed by (at least) a decent day.  Be hopeful.  I doubt if going up on meds will do anything but harm.  You MAY feel better temporarily but eventually you will be right back where you are now and have more drug to cope with or taper.

Accept today; hope for a better tomorrow.

  • amitriptyline from 1980-2002,
  • intermittent  use of benzos over 2 decades prior to 2002
  • 2002-2010 Klonopin 1-2 mg., ambien 10--20, mg, remeron 4 mg. and  trileptal 300 mg
  • 2011 Stopped ambien and crossed over to valium 17.5 mg. (updosing 2.5 mg. to cover ambien C/T )
  • tapered valium w/ long holds to 12.74 mg. from a high of approximately 20-30 mg/day
  • 2015-present tapered trileptal aggressively for a year; now intermittently; interacts w/ other drugs
  • currently 2024 still on 96 mg. trileptal and 4 mg. remeron
  •  Currently on benzo hold as I have to cross-over from brand-name valium to generic diazepam.
  • Current dose of diazepam is 8.8 and valium is 5.7.  I had to up-dose the total valium/diazepam from 12.74 to 14.5 where I have stayed since June 2023.  I am crossing over to generic at a somewhat tolerable rate of .3mg/month after about 2 months of trial/error w/ updosing.  I am not currently tapering; will continue to cross over.

Thanks for sharing. I don’t know what to do. I even thought about changing meds. I know I started tapering committed to quitting meds but life is getting SO incredibly hard in every area.

I do have good days or decent days and horrible ones. I feel like im just surviving, just constantly in survival mode that I can’t get out of most days.

i have no energy or time to do my solutions either. Im getting in trouble at work, cant even do my personal life or even support family and my very sick mom.

Has anyone benefitted from a change in meds? I know it’s discouraged here but I desperately need help. Im almost at a point were I can barely function to provide for myself.

I wonder how the Lion's Mane and psillocybin are interacting with your prescription drugs?  The effects of these pretty powerful supplements could be causing you some problems.  Are you able to trace back in time to when you were not supplementing with these things?  Just a thought...
