I say you're not a particularly severe case because I've seen thousands of cases of withdrawal syndrome.

I hope I haven't upset you. Was not my intention. Just been stressed because you guys are the only place that seems to have a clue. 

I dont thibk I had withdrawal from benzos before but that doesnt mean i want to take them now. 

I really want to do this without having to take anything but im just scared you know as my mood is awful. 

Scared of making more bad decisions. It's all very scary.

I suggest you research what forms of Effexor/venlafaxine you can get.  If you can get immediate release you can make your own liquid.

Getting the brand capsules or tablets (generic might be okay) would probably work out cheaper because if I remember correctly the liquid has to be disposed of 1 month after opening.

 

NOTE:  You cannot make a liquid from the mini discs.

I agree with larryS, personally had many failed taper attempts and wasn't cause I was going too fast or anything but because I hadn't learned to process my emotions and regulate myself and the trauma that originally landed me on the medications 

 

Just learning to relax, breathe and not get so caught up in myself has helped immensely. 

 

I don't know about the time frame for reinstatement with benzos, but I was off my dependant medication for somewhere around 4 months straight and was able to successfully reinstate no problems so hopefully you can do the same if needed.

5mg sounds high. 

I only seem to be able to access extended releases tablets or capsules with tiny beads in.

I had to reinstate, the withdrawal was too much for me to handle. It's in my med history in signature.

 

I tried switching meds too but that didn't work, I've tried so many different meds but I'd still feel withdrawal effects so had to back to the original ones.

Most stories ive read seem to be of reinstating.

Anxiety

Waves of panic

Heart palpitations every few seconds

Rage out bursts 

Disrupted sleep. 

Restless

 

How can you tell if any problems are from your original problem and not WD. 

 

Thinking of reinstatement been waiting for some scales. Was going to do a 1mg instatement. Is that enough? 

 

Not that I can decide for sure what i thinks best. I'm flapping about like a fish out of water

I guess the way i described it to a friend was my original problem but on steroids. 

So i guess that makes it withdrawal.

Note that it takes about 4 days for a dose to get to full level / strength in the blood and a bit longer for it to register in the brain.  You will need to be patient and try not to add stress to the situation because you might confuse the anxiety symptoms (read the labels of the diagram below) for a bad reaction to the drug.  It is also a good idea to keep notes for yourself about any changes in your symptoms to try to gauge if reinstatement is helping.

I was asking about dosages because alto had said 1mg and then changed her instructions to 5mg. So i wasnt sure which to do.

I have just checked back through all of Alto's posts in your topic and can see no mention by her suggesting you reinstate 1mg, only 5mg which I quoted above.  The only post I can find which states 1mg is the following one by you:

Oh my bad is was you thst said 1mg originally as a suggestion. So i had 1mg in my head.

The suggested reinstatement dose is generally decided on related to how much you had been taking when the drug was stopped and how long it has been since that dose was taken.

 

Altostrata is SA's owner and has a lot more knowledge about psychiatric drugs than I do.

 

The reason I suggested a small dose reinstatement of about 1mg was because you were anxious about taking the drug again and a tiny dose can be a test to see how you react and give you confidence.  This can sometimes be a good idea for people who are very worried about reinstating because it might help the person to be less anxious about taking the drug again.  I posted the diagram above which shows how anxiety can affect the body.  Please re-read my post here.

One minute I can cry the next I cant but to be fair none of the crying feels like a good old cry when i can. Annoying because I feel upset.

Some members find B vitamins to be activating, especially B6.  When starting anything new it is a good idea to start with a small amount and only make one change at a time.

Can someone just clarify something for me please. 

I want to try magnesium but a bit confused from the instructions. 

It says start with 25mg but it also says spread it throughout the day. 

If i take 25mg should I take that in one go but if i take 100mg spread it out 4 times a day? Am i reading that right? 

Also if i drink it in water what dosage should I dissolve and over how long should I drink it.

Just like all supplements in withdrawal the dose that an individual can take is a very individual thing.

 

When trying anything new it is best to start with a small dose.  This isn't for the "therapeutic effect" but to see how you react.  And only make one change at a time.

 

If you are wanting to take magnesium for the calming effect, once you know how your react to a small dose you could then take the same small dose a second time during the day and then if okay a third dose.

 

Too much magnesium will cause stomach cramps and possibly diarrhea.

 

If you take a calcium supplement they will need to be taken 2 hours apart otherwise the calcium cancels out the calming effect.
