I know, this is really" bullsh*t", every morning I wake up waiting to see how I feel and then during the day thinking will I ever lead a normal life . No one should ever have to feel like this, If I was told by the doctor that these drugs cause problems I would never off taken it.

Thanks, Cheeky; I appreciate it. : )

2020: After 18+ years (entire adult life) on Paxil, a dangerous doctor-led "taper" in 2015, and four years tapering off the last 1 mg thanks to SA and the Brassmonkey slide,

I AM COMPLETELY FREE OF PAXIL! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! Forever.

2021: Began conservative, proper, CNS-respecting taper of Zoloft, led by the only expert on me -- me. Making own liquid. 5-10% plus holds.

2022: Holding on Zoloft for now. Current dose 47 mg. Hanging in, hanging on. Severe protracted PAWS, windows and waves. While I may not be doing "a lot" by outside standards, things are graaaaadually getting better

I’m really getting frustrated, it’s been 9 weeks since my last drop and I didn’t feel anything the first two weeks and then Bam withdrawal, it always hits me 2 weeks after a drop then Bam   three weeks  of hell then I felt normal again for a week

then got my period and now for the last week I feel like **** again. . I’m starting to think maybe I need to stay on these drugs and my brain dosnt want to function without them, I just dont  know anymore.

I do know that the last time I hit to 35 mg mark I crashed  and went back up on my dose , maybe it’s the drug trying to get used to not haveing that much anymore and that it’s struggling for stability. I

have hours of feeling good then the aniexty comes on .i just don’t know, any help from the mods  would be appreciated

BrassMonkey has posted that he has noticed there does seem to be certain doses of drugs where there is more difficulty.  It might also be that the side effects of seroquel are "breaking through" or the change in the ratio of the two drugs.

There's also probably a little worry because you had trouble at this point last time.  Don't let the past cause problems. I think that your body is still figuring out what to do with the taper and needs some more time to sort things out.  Work on acceptance and just let the symptoms float off and try to get on with things as best as you can.  Once your body gets into the groove of tapering things should be a lot smoother.

20 years on Paxil starting at 20mg and working up to 40mg. Sept 2011 started 10% every 6 weeks taper (2.5% every week for 4 weeks then hold for 2 additional weeks), currently at 7.9mg. Oct 2011 CTed 15oz vodka a night, to only drinking 2 beers most nights, totally sober Feb 2013.

Since I wrote this I have continued to decrease my dose by 10% every 6 weeks (2.5% every week for 4 weeks and then hold for an additional 2 weeks). I added in an extra 6 week hold when I hit 10mg to let things settle out even more. When I hit 3mgpw it became hard to split the drop into 4 parts so I switched to dropping 1mgpw (pill weight) every week for 3 weeks and then holding for another 3 weeks.  The 3 + 3 schedule turned out to be too harsh so I cut back to dropping 1mgpw every 4 weeks which is working better.

Final Dose 0.016mg.     Current dose 0.000mg 04-15-2017

Your right Tom,  I’m not feeling bad 100% of the day just hours here and there.

I really hope I can get this taper on track and find some sort of grove.

Thanks 🤗

Not much to be honest. My wife is awesome, but she doesn't get it, so I just get through it the best I can and try not to bother her with it.

Yeah my husband is the same, he tries but dosen't understand because most of the time I don't tell him very  much as I don't want to worry him.

I get so worried I'm not going to be able to work  and not be able to support my family. We run a family Hairdressing business and my income is very  inportant to pay bills .We have also started a renovation at our house and I'm scared I'm going to loose everything I worked so hard for.

So glad to hear this, thank you for the reminder. I am doing much better the last couple of days, I would say 50% improved, maybe as high as 65%. Hope it is finally some lasting improvement. Thank you for always being here when I am struggling, it helps so much to know you have people who understand and are supportive.

Thank you for always being here when I am struggling, it helps so much to know you have people who understand and are supportive.

I'm here for you and understand what your going through, its tough but will get through it.

Yeah I’m back to myself by 85%, although I did  have a big fight with my husband yesterday , that’s left me feeling anxious this morning. The argument was about him saying he can’t understand what I’m going through ,my moods effect the family and that I should think of him for once rather then myself. That really hurt me when he said that as I try to be the best I can and always put my kids before anyone. I have a lot of

resentment I’ve built up in the 17 years I’ve been married and I feel I act apon it.

sometimes I wish I could have a break for a few years . I’ve never had 10 days off in a row since I’ve had my business off 17 years and I do everything at home, cleaning, cooking , kids stuff and I think

its taking its toll and Im lucky to have him  touch me affectionately once every couple of months.

Sorry for rambling on 🙄

I'm wondering if it would help if you shared this forum with your husband so he can get an idea of what you as well as everyone else who suffers from anxiety/depression. Sometimes it's hard explaining emotional symptoms rather than "oh, I have the flu, a fever, a headache, my nose is stuffy etc" Until someone experiences this they will never know. Most general ailments/symptoms pale in comparison to what we all have experienced.

Taken paxil for over 15 years probably closer to 20.

Sometimes one has to be selfish Cheeky. I'm sure your husband loves you very much and hopefully have an open mind if you share things with him. I did with my wife, who at the time was my fiance midway through my taper, and she stood by me the entire process and I can't be more thankful.

Again, you should do what you are comfortable with. Taking some extended time off from your business can work wonders. It will give you time to reflect a little and maybe you can think of some way to ease the busy days.

I agree this forum is great for support. I truly hope you can find some solace. Hang in there!

Something like that?

Hey Dave,

ive been pretty good considering the circumstances I’m in. I will have to drop again but I’m so scared to, I’m just enjoying the moment and will worry about that later.

Thanks for asking

Cheeky, do you worry about TD with the extended time on Seroquel? Honestly this is my biggest fear with how long it is taking me to stabilize as I am worried I will develop TD or diabetes due to the Zyprexa the longer I have to stay on it waiting for my taper. Just wondering if your doctor has said anything to you about Seroquel and and the risks of TD. I know the risk is supposed to be lower in the atypical APs, but I can't really find anywhere that actually quantifies the risk of TD due to extended exposure to atypical APs.

Hey Dave ,

my doctors has said  nothing about TD and my mum has been on 50mg a low dose of seraquel for 6 years and she is fine. My next taper I will start to decrease the Seraquel as I haven't been on that as long as the paxil. I personally try not to worry about something that hasn't happened yet, because if I did I would be a nervous wreck.

As for stability, your brain need time and unfortunately we cant put a time on it, just remember every body stabilizes eventually, its just awful to have set backs.

I'm feeling good at the moment and I'm too scared to taper again as I don't want those feelings again. This process really sucks, thank god for this support group.
