thriver93
I am a 24 year old young woman who is slowly tapering off Zoloft. I have been on 25mg of this medication since I was 15 years old. Previous attempts at getting off this med have resulted in severe relapses of depressive symptoms and suicidal ideation. After reading Kelly Brogan MD's book "A Mind of Your Own," I am inspired to eradicate this disease once and for all. I am aware that this will take patience in the process and patience in myself. I hope to meet others who are on a similar journey as me. We can do this. Community makes it better. I want to support you all and would love you to support me. You are aware that these are withdrawal reactions ...many doctors are unaware that this is wdl and blame the patient often calling it a relapse. Thriver how are you going any update? URGENT REQUEST Please consider submitting for the petition on Prescribed Drug Dependence and Withdrawal currently awaiting its third consideration at the Scottish Parliament. This is so true, with anything you get on these drugs, dependance, tapering, withdrawal symptoms, side effects, just silent. And if there is something mentioned then their is a serious disconnect between what is said and reality! "Every time I read of a multi-person shooting, I always presume that person had just started a SSRI or had just stopped." Dr Mosher. Me too! Over two decades later, the number of antidepressant prescriptions a year is slightly more than the number of people in the Western world. Most (nine out of 10) prescriptions are for patients who faced difficulties on stopping, equating to about a tenth of the population. These patients are often advised to continue treatment because their difficulties indicate they need ongoing treatment, just as a person with diabetes needs insulin. thriver93
Hello, Thank you for checking up. I am going well. My biggest road block has been sticking to anti-inflammatory lifestyle habits through diet and regular exercise. I notice that my depressive symptoms "flare up" when I am not living healthfully and mindfully. It is also challenging to feel as though I am undergoing this journey by myself. I have tried to explain what I am going undertaking to family members and friends but they do not seem to understand. I wonder if there are support groups for tapering off of antidepressants that are located in the Bay Area... Love&Light, Thriver93 October 1, 2017: 25mg - 2.5mg = 22.5mg Link to comment
