Hey Alto, thank you for your reply!

Personally I find CBT to be a bit ineffective with OCD so at the moment I am trying to find a ERP therapist. So someone that will help me with exposures. My therapist last meeting actually told me "Maybe you just need to visit your boyfriend and get laid and the OCD will go away" Im still in shock by that. Really unprofessional and unhelpful.

Feeling kind of hopeless...

Cymbalta, Zoloft, Effexor: All during the past two years. When I was prescribed them, I would either take one pill a day for 2 days and the stop usage all together.

Pristiq: Taken for 2/3 weeks around April 2017. unknown dosage.  Discontinued cold turkey.

Xanax: All thought 2017 here and there for panic attacks only.

Focalin 10 mg: Taken on May 1st, 2017, discontinued after 3 days of usage. Cold Turkey.

Hospitalized May 13th, 2017.

Trazodone 10 mg: First doses around May 14th, 2017, The doses were taken sporadically for sleep along side Xanax and Triazolam. Stopped these cold turkey

Xanax & Triazolam: unknown dosage, used for sleep whenever I needed. Stopped usage cold turkey.

Paxil 40 mg: First dose around May 14th, 2017. Then I began having side effects so I found this website and began taper.

September: Started Taper, dropped to 27 mg. Paxil

Beginning of October: Dropped to 24 mg. Paxil

October 12th 2017 & Current Dose: Dropped down to 21 mg Paxil.

Are you obsessing about your boyfriend? That would suggest a deeper emotional issue than OCD. Perhaps you're barking up the wrong tree there.

Peonies do yourself a big favour and fire your therapist.

We have until the 14th. Feb 2018.

URGENT REQUEST Please consider submitting  for the petition on Prescribed Drug Dependence and Withdrawal currently awaiting its third consideration at the Scottish Parliament. You don't even have to be from Scotland. By clicking on the link below you can read some of the previous submissions but be warned many of them are quite harrowing.

http://www.parliament.scot/GettingInvolved/Petitions/PE01651

Please tell them about your problems taking and withdrawing from antidepressants and/or benzos.

Send by email to petitions@parliament.scot and quote PE01651 in the subject heading. Keep to a maximum of 3 sides of A4 and you can't name for legal reasons any doctor you have consulted. Tell them if you wish to remain anonymous. We need the numbers to help convince the committee members we are not isolated cases. You have until mid February. Thank you

None of the published articles shed light on what ssri's ... actually do or what their hazards might be. Healy 2013.

This is so true, with anything you get on these drugs, dependance, tapering, withdrawal symptoms, side effects, just silent. And if there is something mentioned then their is a serious disconnect between what is said and reality!

Over two decades later, the number of antidepressant prescriptions a year is slightly more than the number of people in the Western world. Most (nine out of 10) prescriptions are for patients who faced difficulties on stopping, equating to about a tenth of the population. These patients are often advised to continue treatment because their difficulties indicate they need ongoing treatment, just as a person with diabetes needs insulin. Healy 2015

Hi Alto, hmm, I would not say Im obsessing about my boyfriend... but more of my relationship with my boyfriend. I have a fear that I have cheated on him and forgot or I am blocking the memory, I also worry constantly that I may cheat on him or want to cheat on him, I also worry that I don't love him anymore. Most of the day I will go though all my social media accounts, messages, emails, calls, you name it, looking for evidence that i have done something wrong. I have false memories of me doing something wrongs as well as this overwhelming sense that I did do something wrong. I also have intrusive thoughts pretty much 24/7. Thoughts of me having sex with other males or me kissing them. It is to a point I really cannot talk to men anymore because I get so nervous I will do something wrong.

Even after lets say messaging a work colleague, I will have to constantly check back at our conversations to make sure I have not done anything.

The same thing happened when I was going though a health OCD. I was convinced many a-times that I indeed was dying of cancer.
I was able to get in touch with the OCD center around where I live and I found a holistic therapist that has been helping me with exposure therapies. It has really really helped me out, I feel more in control of it now.

When I was sent to the mental health hospital last summer they also did pretty much 3 months worth of ERP (exposure) therapy on me and my OCD really really got so much better. But when I stopped doing ERP, it started flaring up again as you see now.

Way to go Peonies.

You made the right decision.

I'd even file some kind of complaint against them, they must work under a code of ethics and behaviours surely.

Or let it rest and concentrate on yourself. You showed you're strong by getting rid of that therapists. Well done!

There are many bad therapists out there. Some start talking about zodiac signs and stuff. That's equally unprofessional imo. Finding a good one is like shopping.

Took my first SSRI sipralexa/lexapro/escitalopram in 2007 for depression. In 2010 the doctor switched me to paroxetine/seroxat/paxil for anxiety.

My paroxetine story from then on:

2010-15 from 10mg up to 20mg

jan 2016 30mg

may 2016 0mg cold turkey (don't!)

dec 2016 symptoms: anxiety, tremor (could barely stand)

jan 2017 reinstated at 7.5mg to taper in steps of 10%

...

Dose changes from may 2017 to now:

5.0/4.7/4.4/4.0/3.7/3.5/3.3/3.1mg

Clearly, you need to do ERP some more.
