Dejavu: can anyone tell me what's going on?

Hi Dejavu, I've read much of your thread, and in doing so I've found yet another incredibly strong and resilient person to look up to during my journey here. I'm glad it seems you've found the culprit.

Olanzapine (5mg) started June 2023 - This is the only drug I'm currently taking, haven't used any other psych drugs.

After 4 weeks dropped to 2.5mg for 5 days then dropped to 1.25mg for 3 days, withdrawals commenced. I then took a single dose of 3.75mg. Then went to 2.5mg. since July 19

Hoping to hold at 2.5mg  and GODWILLING I will STABILIZE.

I can't tell WD symptoms from Long Covid symptoms. I think a bit of both, and I think my quick earlier taper has made the LC symptoms worse ... what to do.

Update: Sept 28 2023: -2.5%   Oct 5: -2.5%   Oct 12: -2.5%   Oct 19: -5%   Oct 29: -5%   Nov 10: -5%  2.0mg  Nov 20:  -5%  1.9mg  Nov 30:  -5%  1.8mg  Dec 12:  1.75mg   Dec 22: 1.70mg

Dec 29: 1.65mg Jan 06/24: 1.60mg  Jan 14: 1.55mg Jan 25: 1.50mg   Feb 12: Updose to 1.55mg    Apr 25: 1.50mg

(percentage drops are from previous dose)

@RachelSusan or anyone else, I wonder if I could get an opinion here. I made a 3% cut on 2/5 which did not work out well at all. I was fine for 3 weeks, but then wd anxiety kicked in hard. 4 nights ago, I updosed 1.5%. Since then the anxiety has been better. It was almost absent yesterday, but dizziness and balance issues took its place. Today, that's not so bad but the anxiety is back. I can't figure out whether the updose hasn't had enough time to settle in or whether I'm reacting poorly to it. I'm leaning toward going back to my full dose (where I was super stable), but I don't want to make things worse. It's been 27 days since the cut so I feel I need to make a decision either today or tomorrow. If it were you, would you wait another day or go back up now? Can you remember a time in your own tapering where you had to updose? I would really appreciate your opinion and insight. Thanks so much!

@Dejavu This is a hard question to answer for you.  You asked "if it were you" and then it became easy for me. I would stay at the current dose if it were me. My reasoning for this is because in my case the more changes I made the worse I felt.  I know this answer is not what I would want to hear if I was asking the question. So I guess your question would be best answered by looking at your history. It looks like you have up-dosed a few times in the past. They were not big up-doses and very reasonable, much like you are proposing here. How did it work in the past, did it alleviate your symptoms, or did it make them worse?  I think your history along with your best gut instinct should guide you.

Please keep posting how you feel, regardless if you stay at the current dose or if up-dose.  I would love to hear how it all shakes out for you.

We haven't chatted in a long time and it's really nice to be chatting with you again.  You and I both have been through so much with the flipin' (I would rather be able to use a stronger word also starting with F by this site is G rated) Zoloft I consider us survivors and warriors. So from one warrior to another, you've got this, you will prevail.  You are awesome.

The problem is, I'm honestly not sure. I never updosed enough that it made much of a difference, since it was usually months after the cut. This time, its been less than a month. And I've heard people talk about updosing to the last point you were stable. I also don't know how much the mold toxicity plays into it. But the last thing I want to do is make it worse. I was rock-solid stable only 2 weeks ago. I guess I've decided to wait a couple more days to see how this latest updose settles in and then decide.

Yes, indeed, we are warriors for sure. I can't tell you how much I appreciate you always being there for me. There were times I was so sure I would never stabilize, and you were there to prop me up. I'm so so very glad you made it to the other side. Nobody deserves it more.

@Dejavu How are you doing today? Sometimes it takes a while for these things to calm down. It is rather unsettling when one symptom goes away only to have another new one show up. It appears though that it is just part of the process.

Thank you for you warm thoughts. You were there for me as well.  I thank you too.  We are in this together.
