vvanessaa23
Hi everyone! I recently found this site through a rabbit hole of Reddit threads about SSRI withdrawal. I’m a 22 y/o female and I’m two months off of Zoloft and feeling so miserable all the time. I think the worst part of it is that I didn’t have GAD, but had ADHD and was misdiagnosed and prescribed medications that made everything worse but at some point I just felt numb and didn’t notice. I finally had enough after 7 years as I started having random spells of vomiting that have stopped since I’ve gone off the medication. Emotionally I was shaking and anxious for a week, then okay for the following week, then randomly 3 weeks later I started feeling miserable and irritable all the time. I’m worried that the feeling will never go away and am feeling quite hopeless at the moment. I’m hoping this group can help me get through this as my friends and family don’t seem to understand the extent to which this is bothering me. I’m pushing everyone away, sleeping too much or too little, have no appetite, headaches, etc. It feels never ending and I really just wish I’d never taken SSRIs to begin with. I’m trying vitamins, CBD, and exercise but somehow it’s not helping. I’m not sure what else to do, even talk therapy doesn’t feel like it’s helping currently. Any advice or coping techniques that helped you guys? Thanks in advance:) 2022-Present: Vyvanse 2015-2022: Zoloft (100mg) Link to comment

I looked up information on Vyvanse and this is what WebMD says: Nausea, vomiting, constipation, stomach/abdominal pain, loss of appetite, dry mouth, headache, nervousness, dizziness, trouble sleeping, sweating, weight loss, irritability, and restlessness may occur. If any of these effects last or get worse, tell your doctor or pharmacist promptly. So, some of the symptoms you had or may still have could be coming from the Vyvanse. Also you tapered off the Zoloft way to quickly. We do not suggest more than 10% a month and many go much slower than that. Why taper by 10% of my dosage? Unfortunately I had to quickly taper off as it was causing me vomiting spells where I couldn’t leave my house for days, they only stopped once I had tapered off. This is also the reason I can’t reinstate, I already struggle with eating enough so not keeping food down nearly put me in the hospital. Nausea isn’t as bad because at least I can eat a little bit at a time and be okay. I do already take omega-3s and magnesium as they aid with migraines, so minus the quick taper I’ve been doing my best. Vyvanse symptoms or mostly fading with time, irritability is mostly around my menstrual cycle so I don’t have much control of it - it’s just been worse when I wasn’t numb to feelings. Thank you for your advice and help! 2022-Present: Vyvanse 2015-2022: Zoloft (100mg) Link to comment

Callieflower
I wish I had good advice for you, but all I can say is that I’m in the same boat on my tapering journey! I’m 3 months off of Prozac. The isolation and lack of understanding from family and friends is really hard because the symptoms can feel all-consuming. I keep wishing I had never started SSRIs too. I hope improvement in symptoms is progressing for you or at least on the horizon soon! citalopram 20mg 3/2019-8/2020 citalopram 40mg 8/2020-9/2020 fluoxetine 20mg 9/2020-4/2022 Link to comment
