Just popping in briefly to document that I went back to my original tablet last night, so far all good. I did the third phase of the crossover for ten days. I did each phase for more than a week, I just wanted to be safe. Only have to do one water titration every night now. Woohoo!!🎉🎉

I haven’t had any problems with the crossover at all, but I still won’t taper straight away, I’ll give it a bit more time.

This is sounding really promising, Carmie, you're probably going to be able to complete the crossover without any wobbles.  Gosh, I hope so.  It will be nice to have a bit of breathing space.

Thinking of you and all you are going through at the moment.

much love

I'm glad you liked the weighted blanket. it's been very cold here and I sleep under all my blankets, I think maybe 6 of them? 7? anyway, I think the weight of them is calming.

Currently taking Ramapril (blood pressure) 5 mg twice a day

Omeprazole 10 mg AM and 20 mg PM  (the taper has gone nowhere after the first cut)

Famotidine   once a day (and I still needs tums sometimes)

magnesium 200 mg at night

as of yesterday 2 fish oil capsules "EPA-DHA 1000"

off Lexapro as of 5/2018  - last dose had been 5 mg every other day for a couple years

highest dose had been 20 mg at which point I was diagnosed with Bipolar II, which went away when I cut the lexapro down to 15 mg.

I spent years on Paxil before Lexapro (can't remember dose), briefly on Effexor and Abilify and others I have forgotten. in fact, when I was diagnoses with BPII I was put on all kinds of things which made me feel so bad I stopped them cold turkey within maybe 3 or 4 weeks, thank goodness. since then I've known these pills were terrible and I weaned down the Lexapro with zero help or support over I'm not sure how many years.

Hi Carmie,

My sincere condolences. Just found out that your father passed away. I wish you all the strength and wisdom to get through these difficult times. Losing one of your parents is tough and you will need time and patience to deal with your emotions.

I wish you all the best Carmie! Sending warmth and sunshine from myself... (In the Netherlands it's cold and dark right now).

I have faith in your healing. Be strong and believe in yourself!

Cheers

Hi @neroli @SkyStreamer @Miracle123 @jozeff

@JackieDecides

Thanks for all your lovely messages. I’m doing okay, just really brain dead. Brain fog is severe, and I’m really struggling to read.

Some of my friends took me out to dinner and Putt Putt last night.️ Was lots of fun! I needed a good laugh, and I certainly got that. I’ve never played it before. In the first hole I stopped counting how many hits it took to get the ball into the hole.🤣🤣 In the second hole I got it into the hole 🕳 in two shots! I nearly fainted!😄 I still came last though. I looooove Putt Putt! My friends are beautiful, we all cheer each other on, and it was just what I needed. There’s a golf driving range there too, that would be fun. I’ve never done that either, but apparently the sensors pick up where your ball has gone. I definitely want to do that!!

I’m doing okay back on my original tablet, and am still deciding when to start tapering again. I gave the magnesium away, it didn’t like me whatsoever. It really ramped up my symptoms. Deciding whether to try another kind or to just leave it. Decisions! Decisions!

Am looking forward to a beach day with friends in a fortnight if I’m well enough, there will be volleyball and other games, a bbq, and off course, swimming.🌊🌊🌊 I love the beach, it’s the best thing ever when you’re sick. Can I have a beach house pretty please.😃

Hope you’re all okay. Will be visiting different ones threads again when I can think.

Sending lots of hugs🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗

Hello Carmie

Not good that you are having such bad brain fog - but it sounds as though you are certainly managing it well and able to have some fun as well.  Overall you sound chipper.

I tried magnesium a few times -- I'd hoped it would relieve my tight leg muscles and maybe help with anxiety but I found it ramped up my symptoms, too.  So, I've given it up as a "make me better" supplement.  Don't think I'll try again but who know, there's still a bottle of gel caps in the fridge and I may be tempted by the lure of possible symptom alleviation!

Hi Carmie,

glad you got out and had some fun....you deserve it.

I never got to the beach on Tuesday when it was warm, was in a terrible wave this past week but seemed to be letting up some today and we drove down and took a short walk on the beach, but it was only 37 F so we weren't out there long!

hope you can make your trip to the beach...I would love a beach house too!

when I hit the lottery..😄😄😄

take care,ds ❤️

Hi @neroli @JackieDecides @Sunnyday @Gracee @direstraits @Rabe @jozeff

Thanks for coming around to say hi and for all your lovely words. I’ve been spending more time with different friends the last couple of days. Had to laugh, went to a cafe with one friend and she bought a paleo muffin and hated it, so I scored it! It was delicious! I think paleo food is yummy. I was a really strict autoimmune diet for a long time and I loved it. It’s much stricter than paleo. I’m not quite as strict now.

I loooooooooooove my weighted blanket!! It’s really hot here in Queensland now but I have airconditioning in my bedroom so I can use it. I find the blanket comforting.

My transition from compounding capsules back to my original tablet went really smoothly. Today is day six of being back on my tablet. I’m been in withdrawal normal the whole time. Still deciding when to start tapering.

Jozeff, taking the magnesium made all of the cells in my body feel on edge, it was almost like akathisia, but not quite. I had a weird sensation in my mouth too, like my teeth were about to chatter, I also had a real sense of dread come over me. All those symptoms were gone the next day, but the magnesium certainly didn’t like me whatsoever.

Hope you’re all coping okay, sending hugs🤗🤗🤗

Hi one and all,

I’ve been trying to read more threads but my brain fog is so severe and won’t let me (CFS). I just wanted to say thank you again soooo much for everyone that has come over to my thread. I will be coming over to your threads as soon as my brain lets me.

In bed today, though I get up every now and again to do a bit of housework. It’s so hot in Queensland at the moment, but I have my trusty air conditioner in the bedroom.

Take care everyone 💚💚💚

P.s. Okay, I’m cracking up. I can’t stop watching the Baby Shark song my Bounce Patrol. It is so amusing!! It’s for little kids, one of my friends was telling me yesterday that her kids love it and she can’t get the song out of her head. My turn🤣🤣🤣🤣

My friends really keep me going. I think it is sooo important that we continue to be individuals and don’t worry what other people think about us. There are sooooo many fake people in the world that put on a front and pretend to be something that they really aren’t. Be real people. 💚💚💚💚💚

Hi guys,

Thanks for popping over. Yes, I woke up with that song in my head again.🤣 It must be a popular kids song as it has over 577 million views on YouTube. I’m sure there are many adults singing it too.😄 I think we have to keep finding things that amuse us because as they say laughter is the best medicine.

I’ve been awake since 4am. I’m not usually awake that early, I’m usually awake around 5.30am or 6am. I couldn’t fall asleep again. I loooove my weighted blanket though. I’m glad I bought it.

It looks like it will be a day in bed for me, no strength. I’m hoping to catch up with a friend tomorrow if I’m well enough, and I’ve also been invited for dinner on Saturday to another friend’s place. It’s nice to have things to look forward even if I’m too sick to go on the day. Just the thought of pleasant future days brings a smile to my face. I hope I get to make it to the beach gathering on the 24th. The beach is the best place ever!🌊🏖⛱

Take care💚

Hi Carmie:  I love that you totally "get" the meaning of the word acceptance and can do what is necessary for your health (rest) while remaining positively upbeat.  You remind me of a friend who has a sign in her kitchen that says "No Whining".

Good to know that stabilising isn’t just a fake news rumour and that it does happen.

It has been a hot 30c here today which for us is hot. Been a hot summer so had enough of it now and luckily only three or so weeks before it should start cooling down a bit.

Hope your feeling better tomorrow.

Hello Carmie

I just watched the video.  I'm sure my psychologist would be delighted if I was to sing my most troubling thoughts to that tune - it is one of the tools in ACT programme, take your most troubling thought and either repeat it over and over very fast, or sing to a jingly tune, or observe that you notice you are having a troubling thought - it's supposed to "defuse" the thought and created some detachment from it.  I have a ways to go practicing it and finding that detachment!

Hi @Gracee @Tom37 @neroli @Miracle123

Hope you’re all coping okay today. I can’t read much today, brain fog is severe. Thanks so much for visiting my thread. I’m in good spirits, nice n comfy in airconditioning in my bedroom. I’ve got lots of distractions that work for me even when brainfog is bad. I don’t  have much strength at all today, but I’ll have to go to the shops briefly, and then it’s back to crashing in my bed.

Tom, no, stabilising isn’t a fake rumour.😂 I’ve always stabilised no matter how severe the withdrawals were or how long it took to get out of a wave. I just kept distracting myself when I was in a wave that went on forever, telling myself it will end one day, and it always did. It always surprises me when people can’t find distractions, I can think of a million things to do.

Neroli, yes, the tune to Baby Shark certainly is upbeat. I’m sure your psychologist would be delighted if you sang your problems to that song. It’s hard to get out of your head once you start singing it.🎤😄 I messaged my friend yesterday who told me about it n I told her I woke up singing it: Baby Shark doo doo doo doo doo doo doo, mummy shark doo doo doo doo doo doo.🦈🦈😜 I’m definitely a big kid at heart! I can’t sing to save my life, I sound like a dying walrus, but that doesn’t stop me.😁

Gracee, yes, I’m all about acceptance. When you can’t change something, what on earth does stressing about it do, except to make you more stressed. I’m glad your motto is Distractions! Distractions! Distractions! too. It’s the best motto EVER!!!! It’s been my motto in this whole journey so far.

Miracle, I can’t wait for the beach day. One of my friends has organised a big group to go to the beach. There will be volleyball, cards, swimming, a bbq etc etc. Sounds like such fun. ⛱🏖🌊 Okay, what’s better than being at the beach??? I’ve been invited to dinner tomorrow night to a friend’s place. Should be fun. I’m going to my Bible meeting before that at the Kingdom Hall. Yes, I’m one of those annoying people that knocks on your door talking about the Bible.🤣🤣🤣

One of my friends just messaged me and is going to get tickets for us to see Billy Ocean. Love eighties music! Well I pretty much love music from before I was born, which was in the sixties, to now. Music is fabulous!🎼🎼🎼 I was invited to a party a couple of weeks ago, but I was too sick to go. One of my friends plays the guitar, the ukulele, the harmonica and who knows what else. Such a talent! I missed out.🙁 There will be more musical evenings though.

Hang in there everyone, we will win this fight against medication! My problems started with chronic pain, I didn’t have anxiety or depression, though I’ve been through a lot in my life that could have caused this. I really am grateful that I’ve been blessed with a positive nature, it would be so much harder to go through this if I wasn’t. I’m also grateful for my amazing friends that stick to me through thick and thin. I’ve had so many offers of friends wanting me to visit them lately and stay with them for a few days. Well, if I had the strength I would. A lot of the time I can barely get out of bed.🛏

I feel for each and every one of you going through this horrific experience we call withdrawals. When my brain comes back I’ll visit your threads again, much love to you all💚💚💚💚

Hi @Gracee @DaveB @Rosetta

Thanks for all your kind words. I still don’t have much brain power, but I’ve been keeping myself entertained with distractions that don’t need a lot of that.😁 I’m spending the day with friends today, which I’m looking forward to.

I looooooooooove my weighted blanket.😍

Gracee, you’ve got a great attitude too. I love seeing all your positive posts on other people’s threads. Not only is it encouraging for others, but helping others is also good for the soul. There certainly is more happiness in giving.

Dave, yes, it’s best to try and find ways to stay positive. It certainly isn’t a positive journey we are going through, but constantly focusing on our symptoms doesn’t make it any better. It just makes us more stressed, and in turn ramps up our symptoms even more. Please find some distractions to help get you through the day.

Rosetta, Thanks for taking the time to say hi. I hope you’ve been able to do some fun things with your daughter. Will pop around to your thread when my brain comes back.

Take care everyone 💚💚

Hi @Carmie Thank you for your kind words, your support and encouragement.  It means a lot.  I have a few acquaintances who own weighted blankets.  They bought them for comfort during times of anxiety and depression. They love those blankets.  I know a lady who works at her computer with the blanket in her lap and takes it with her to watch TV.  She says she she may begin to take it with her to drive.

Wishing you joy.

G.

I also find you to be very inspiring, Carmie, thank you so much for your posts.

Hi @Gracee @JackieDecides @Rabe

Thanks for all your lovely messages. My brain is in lala land today. Such severe brain fog. It’s my illness, I don’t know anything different, I’ve lived with it for over 24 years. Some days it’s really severe though. That being said, I’m actually in very good spirits. Spent the day yesterday with friends, it was so upbuilding.

A friend of mine wanted to take me out makeup shopping today, but I’m stuck in bed. It will have to be another day. I’m not much of a makeup girl, I’m a slap on a bit of nude by nature mineral powder type of person. Makeup, what’s that??? This friend keeps insisting she wants to buy me makeup.😂😂 I looove my friends, they are all beautiful people. I learn so much from each and every one of them. Actually, I have another friend who is a makeup artist. Maybe I’ll let her do a makeover on me one day, she does lovely work for weddings etc.

I really love how we are all so different. If we were all the same conversations would be like you’re talking to yourself.🤣

Sending hugs to all of you 🤗🤗
