P.s.s.s. Okay, this is my last message for the day.  Pleeeeeeeease find distractions. There are so many days I can barely think, it’s mainly due to CFS, not withdrawals. I don’t have a lot of cognitive ability today but I was so happy to finally get out of my unit, and I even scored a few nice summer dresses. I’m not much of a shopper, I tend to only go shopping when I need something.

I’m still cranking up the music. Listening to Muse at the moment. Again, if you are not noise sensitive please listen to music as distraction. I love all kinds of music. I hope that you all continue to find distractions that help. I really loooove arts and crafts. You don’t have to be good at painting etc, it doesn’t matter if you’re good WHATSOEVER! Just get a paintbrush or some pencils and pretend you’re a five year old. I think Perfectionism is the death of most of us. We DO NOT HAVE TO BE PERFECT!!!!

I’m in awe of all the mods on here that have been helping people for years. I feel humbled by them.  What an amazing and awesome job they have been doing.

We are all struggling sooooo much and yet we continue to help one another.

Hang in there everyone, sending much love to all of you, we will win this fight 💚💚💚💚💚

Oh my goodness, I really am on a roll this evening. I’m watching Weird Al Yankovich’s YouTube video again for the millionth time. Looove The Saga Begins. It always makes me smile as I’m a Star Wars fan. I’ll probably watch his video Word Crimes again too It’s hilarious, it’s all about our grammar mistakes. Both these videos ALWAYS make me smile. After that it’s back to Muse. Pleeeeease find things that can still bring a smile to your face, even though we are going through this horror called withdrawals.

Hang in there everyone 💚

Hi @Aquarius

I’m glad my thread gave you some distraction and made you smile. I sometimes laugh at the oddest things, I think I’m quite eccentric🤣.  I’m sorry you’re having a rough day though. This journey of withdrawals really is rough. I couldn’t think of anything worse. We will get there one day though, this journey will end.

Yes, we call charity shops op shops here in Aussie Land😄

I hope tomorrow is a better day for you.

Sending hugs🤗

Hi Aquarius and eymen,

Thanks for coming to my thread. I’m glad I’m keeping you entertained.🤹🏻‍♀️😃 I tell you what, if we didn’t laugh in this journey we would cry. I still find the funny side of the smallest things, it keeps me sane.

Yes, and distractions are definitely my speciality. I was just distracting myself looking at the new emojis. I didn’t notice them before. We now have toilet paper, a washing basket and a mop! How about that! 🧻🧺🧹😜. Okay, who am I going to send a toilet paper emoji to???? Well, I actually just put it on here, didn’t I?😳

We now have kangaroo emojis too. Yay!!! 🦘🦘🦘🦘” Skippy, Skippy, Skippy the bush kangaroo.” I always watched that when I was a kid, it was amazing how the park rangers always knew what Skippy was saying: “ What’s that Skippy, there was a car accident down the road?”😄

I’d like to put in an order for a meerkat emoji. Can I have one, pretty please? I’m going to Australia Zoo with friends again next month, and I’ll be heading straight for the meerkats. Last time I went the Irwin’s were doing the crocodile feeding show (autocorrect just changed crocodile to credible, I guess it was a credible show🤔 ). Love the Irwin’s, they’re so down to earth. Sad Steve died, I saw him a couple of times, the energy that guy had was something else! I remember when his dad owned the zoo when I was a teenager and there were just lizards and snakes. It was really small then.

Cool you like Star Wars too Aquarius. I remember when Rogue One came out at the movies, withdrawals were soo bad that day, but it was a good distraction. Had an interesting experience when I went to see The Last Jedi. There was a fire drill and we had to leave the cinema about half an hour before the end of the movie.🚒 Anyway, we were allowed back in after and we all sat down but the movie projector🎥 wouldn’t start again to where they had to stop it, so we missed the ending🙁. They gave us another ticket to see it another day though. Such excitement that night, the excitement of the fire drill and everyone having to come down the elevators and hang around added to the excitement of the movie. We were in the action!🤣

Anyway I hope you both had a good day, or maybe your day is just starting where you live. It’s around 8pm here.

Take care, sending hugs🤗🤗

Hi Rosetta,

Thanks for dropping by. I’m not doing too badly withdrawal wise today. Have severe cog fog at the moment though ( CFS ) so I can’t read much. Had enough strength to walk to the shops ( haven’t been able to get out a lot lately ) as I wanted to get some stuff for my crafts and a few groceries.

Spent the morning doing some crafts to give to kids. There are so many things I’d like to create. I see you have fun with the art classes at your daughter’s school.

Just took a fun photo of my soft toy dog Puddles and me. Yes, I’m a big kid at heart. I love photography n even on days I can’t get out n about I still manage to find things to photograph at home. Snap! Snap! Snap!

Hope youre doing okay too💚

That’s cool Aquarius,

I did a marathon  like that at home too. The three originals are still my favourites. I’ll pop around to see how you’re doing when I’m able too, I have real bad cognitive problems from my illness at the moment. No brain, no gain, so the saying goes. I’ve lived with brain fog for 24 years, but sometimes it’s so bad I can barely think.

Sending hugs your way🤗

Hi everyone,

Thanks for your PMs. I appreciate you contacting me. My cognitive abilities are not good at the moment, I’m really sorry. When I reply though I’ll reply in your threads. CFS makes it hard for me to think sometimes. Today is bad.

Sending many hugs to all of you, this journey really is the hardest thing we will ever go through.

I’ve got the headphones on at the moment and am cranking it up at the moment. Don’t do that very often as I don’t want to get tinnitus. Usually I just crank up my speaker. Cranking up Twenty One Pilots at the moment. Have seen them in concert.

Hope everyone has survived today okay. I don’t actually celebrate Christmas because of its pagan origins.

Sending so much love to everyone 💚💚💚💚💚

Just wanted to share this, it’s something ChessieCat wrote n I put it into my journal a while ago:

“ Adding unnecessary anger and frustration can be detrimental and slow our healing. There are some things we do have control over. Even then, we need to make a decision about how it affects our CNS.

Think of it this way, if our poor nervous system is busy trying to deal with stress ( includes good stress ) then it’s attention is taken away from regaining homeostasis/factory settings. It’s off fighting or fleeing the “enemy”. A good actual example is when we are grieving after a loss. It’s not unusual to come down with a virus when our immunity is low.”

Here’s to acceptance of our situation and trying to stay as calm as we can, even though it’s not always easy.

Hang in there everyone💚

Hi Bee,

I have stabilised on the compounded capsules, but I’m going to go back to the original tablets in January some time. I decided to go back to the tablets as Brassmonkey said that it’s better to use the original tablets, if one is able, as they are more accurate.

It might take a while to stabilise when I go back on them, as it took me over three months to stabilise on the compounded capsules. I’ve gone backwards, but at the time when I went on the compounded capsules I didn’t know about the inaccuracies. That being said though, many people have gotten off meds using compounded formulas.

It’s a wise decision for me though to go back to the original tablets ( thanks Brassmonkey) , especially when I get down to the teeny, tiny doses. I really want them to be accurate. I’m so sensitive to every drop.

I’ll document here how I go and how long it takes me to stabilise again when I go back to the tablets.

Take care Bee, Sending hugs🤗

Thanks for dropping by and for your lovely messages. It looks like it’s another day in bed for me, though maybe I might be able to get out and about later on. Who knows? I live a moment at a time ( autocorrect just wrote down Tokyo instead of time😄).

I started a new diamond painting last night, and have been doing a little bit this morning. It’s got flowers, fruit and birds in it. They are a great distraction when you don’t have a lot of brain power. You just stick little beads on the numbers and letters. I finished one yesterday of pretty yellow flowers. I looooooove yellow flowers, Every time I stumble across yellow flowers when I’m out and about I smile, and then out comes the camera. Snap! Snap!Snap!

A friend of mine has invited me to stay up the Coast with her, but I don’t think I’ll have the strength. She staying with her parents up there while she’s on holiday from work.

Let’s hope I’ll be able to get out and about some time this weekend. I fed the birds on the balcony this morning, they were squawking for their breakfast. Hungry little critters. Love my birds. I follow all sorts of nature pages on Instagram, it’s lovely looking at beautiful places and animals. Even if I’m stuck in bed I can still journey all around the place.🗺 A lot of my friends are on holidays at beaches too, and I love seeing their photos.

Take care, sending hugs🤗🤗

Hello Carmie

Autocorrect can drive you barmy at times!

I hope you are able to get out for a wee bit today.  But if you don't, you have your ways of taking your mind to other places, which is a great ability to help you take those moments by moment.

Lovely that you like to feed the birds.  Birds coming onto my lawn or into the backyard to find grubs and insects in the vegetation are about the only thing that I feel I can truly connect to in nature - the rest of it seems to have disappeared into anhedonia (I know, intellectually, that I'm in a pretty place but my heart doesn't connect).  So, it's good that the birds drop in.  We have a bird here called a wax-eye, it's greeny/yellow with a white ring around it's eyes - I particularly like those, as well as the sparrows and blackbirds.

I'm knitting and listening to buddhist talks.  Have managed a gentle yoga practice.

You take care, too, and hugs back at you.

Hi @neroli @Rabe

Thanks for dropping by.

Neroli, I’m so glad that you get to interact with birds too. I was laughing yesterday when I saw a photo of the funniest looking bird, I don’t remember the name of it. Birds are magnificent. So important to enjoy nature when going through withdrawals. Major nature freak here. I’d be up the Coast at the beach now with a friend if I’d had the strength.

Isn’t the beach the most amazing place ever. I love the sand too. One of my friends hates sand. How can one hate sand???🏖

Rabe, Thanks for your kind thoughts. Unfortunately I’m not well enough to get out today. I’ll just have to go on Instagram n look at all the beautiful nature places that I may be one day able to get to again.

My bed has me captive again today.⛓ Naughty bed!🛏😄

Sending hugs n sunshine to both of you, lots of sunshine here today 🤗☀️☀️☀️

Thank you, Carmie.  Sunshine accepted and we have our own here.  Sunshine is fine if it doesn't have any heat in it!  I get more wobbly with the heat.  Have to go out early morning if I am going to go out at all - the legs definitely wouldn't last in the heat.

So, here're wishes for your body to recuperate, so you can get out for a wee taste of the outdoors that you love.

Thanks Neroli,

Yep, still in bed recuperating. I think I’ve spent the majority of the last 24 years in bed. I must say my bed really does love me🛏💚

I do get out n about though, but sometimes I go into a crash where I can barely move for ages. I feel like I’m glued to the bed at this very moment, it feels like I don’t even have the strength to stand up.

I’m going to watch some more Murdoch Mysteries now. I’ve got all of season ten to watch. The way I go through tv series it won’t take long at all.

Seeing that the sunshine n heat is too much for you, I’ll send you some more rain n cold, here you go💦💦💦❄️❄️❄️😂💚

Hi Carmie,

How are you now? I hope you feel a bit better. I didn't realize you had to spend so much time in bed all those years.

That really hurts me to read that. People struggling always makes me sad. I always try to imagine how it would be if I had to deal with all of that.

You seem like such a nice and caring person to me! I hope you get well soon.

Well, dear, dear Carmie I can only take inspiration from your ability to keep on going and keeping up with your activities and friends, plus outings to concerts and things.  I don't know if you have seen it but on Netflix there is a doco. called "Unrest" the story of a young woman who gets CFS in her early twenties (??? could be thirties).  It shows how much this condition affects people, so I have some understanding of its effects.

The word warrior gets used a lot to describe us in these communities who are dealing with WD - but you truly are a warrior.  My hat is taken off to you.  (But not my sunhat - I need that!!!!!).

Thank you for the rain and cold.  It's overcast here today, long may that continue and keep the temperature low-ish.

Best wishes

Hi guys,

Thanks for all your lovely messages. They brightened my day. It looks like another day in 🛏 but I am in good spirits. I’ve been watching Murdoch Mysteries and I’m going to watch some Netflix on my iPad now. I can’t connect the bedroom tv to the Internet, I usually watch Netflix in the loungeroom while chilling on the lounge.

I got rid of my greys this morning and the experience made me laugh. I only use dyes from the health food store n this one was so liquidy ( Is that actually a word?? I tend to make up my own words sometimes😂. I find language soooo fascinating😍) . Anyway, I sat on the corridor floor while I put my hair dye in, it was dripping everywhere. Afterwards I had a look and there was dye on the skirting board. Just as well I didn’t do it in the bedroom, it would have dripped all over the carpet. My husband is a painter so I’ll have to get him to paint the skirting board. 👨🏻‍🎨( Okay, not that kind of painter, is there a paint brush emoji, can’t find it at the moment).

The plastic gloves they give you were so short n when I went to rinse the dye out of my hair, they filled up with water. 💦💦  I got dye all around the sink etc. Okay, I think next time I’m down the Coast at my sister’s place I’ll get her to do the next lot of dyeing. She did it last time. The times before that I used to get a natural hair dye from England, it was foam n easy peasy to use. I went for quite a while not bothering to cover the greys, it’s no big deal. I liked the greys, but then I wanted a change.

I’m struggling to think today but I wish from the bottom of my heart that you are all coping. I hope you’re all finding distractions to cope with these dreaded withdrawals. It’s back to Netflix for me now.

Sending lots of hugs🤗🤗🤗🤗

Best wishes

Hi Neroli,

Thanks for your message. I thought I quoted you in the message above, but my brain is not functioning and I realised I didn’t so I’ll write again here. Had fun dyeing my hair as I wrote above. That was the excitement for the day. Other than that, just lying in bed watching movies and tv series.

I suffer from memory problems n I can’t remember if I saw “Unrest” on Netflix. I’ll have to check it out again. I try not to focus too much on my illness, and just try to focus on what I can still do.

Thank you soooo much for your kind words, it means a lot. I’m really struggling with cog fog today. Going to chill out to Netflix now.

I hope the weather continues to favour you💚💚

Hi Neroli,

I’m glad you enjoyed a cool day today. I’ve been vegetating all day.🥦🍆🥒🥬🍅🍠🥔 I’m still watching Murdoch Mysteries at the moment. Good old DVDs and Netflix!! Was hoping to catch up with friends tomorrow morning, but I don’t think I’ll have the strength. We’ll see. If not, maybe next week some time.

Hello Carmie

I like the way you can do that and accept that you might not be able to catch up with friends today.

I so hope I can develop the emotional strength that you have.  I have started to worry about going back to work, will my legs let me get to the office, when I'm working at home, will I have the motivation to do what I need to do?  Will the anxiety increase and make working intolerable?  I know I need to bring myself back to the present moment and I am trying that.  Worrying will not make anything better.  If I am able, I will do it, if I'm not somehow I have to come to terms with that.

Glad you can enjoy your DVDs and Netflix,

Thanks Neroli,

I don’t have the strength to catch up with friends today, but I’ll do the next best thing, I’m going to send friends cards n little presents. Snail mail went out the window with technology, but it still so lovely to get something in one’s mailbox. I know I smile when I get mail from a friend, I just got a lovely letter from one. She lives about four or five hours away by train. I stayed with her a little while ago. She’s asked me to come n stay again. I will, if I can get out of bed.😂

It makes me happy to make my friends happy. I think it’s important in withdrawals to focus on others. Putting the focus on just ourselves and our problems isn’t good for our health.

I’m so sorry thinking about going back to work is so stressful for you. It’s hard sometimes to switch off our brains n stop worrying about the future. A lot of it is chemically induced though. Those nasty meds! One of these days all of these horrible symptoms will be gone.

Take care, and try n find something that brings you a little bit of joy while you’re on holidays.

Sending hugs🤗

Thank you, Carmie.

Yes, I agree its not good to focus on our symptoms so much.  I have put more effort into sending cards and getting little gifts for friends this year.  Such a great thing that you are doing for your friends.

I'm going to attempt a walk with a friend this afternoon.

Thank you for your kind words.
