Hi dear @Longroadhome

Thank you for dropping by and thinking of me💕

I am doing ok, have had some increased waves, also due to stopping nicotine and then failing that again😞

Cant seem to stop it as I feel my anxiety gets worse.

But I am getting back on it, I never quit trying.

I have had some stressful days also as I am in the process of importing a dog🥰 That’s actually such great news as I have been looking for a long time now and happy to say if all goes well, she will be with me in late January. I am beyond excited.

I hope your doing well, I need to stop by your thread.

Thank you for caring, and be well🙏

Hey Hanna-  how are you doing?  I wanted to check in because I saw you had the Covid booster back in November.  I had mine last week (Wednesday) and I think I’m having an uptick in symptoms and I’m in a wave.  With Christmas and 3 kids here I also pushed myself hard for the holiday and did many things I haven’t been able to do.  So that could be part of my wave.  I’m just Curious if you had any negative affects after the booster?  I think the effects of the booster last 1-2 weeks but I’m not sure.  I do know that I don’t want Covid while in WD so the booster risk was something I decided to accept. Thanks!

2003-2006-  Zoloft then Wellbutrin, Ritalin, concerta , Adderall.  Don’t remember dosage, tapers or timeframes. ADD treatment. I think I had some WD?  Definitely PSSD which resolved over time.

Zoloft  100 MG April18-april 22, 2020

Buspirone 20 mg from April 18-May 18

10 mg from May 18 - May 27 2020

Lexapro 5 mg from April 22 through May 1st

10 mg from May 1 through June 1

5 mg from June 1 though june 18

2.5 mg from June 18 through June 25

1.25 mg from June 25 through July 4 2020

Ambien -  2.5 mg  April 21 and 26 2020

Trazodone 50 mg-  3 times late April and 4 days the first week in June 2020

Sorry for the late reply my friends. Thank you for dropping by❤️
Dear @LongroadhomeThank you so much for the kind wishes, it warmed my heart. You are such a caring soul and I am thankful for interacting with you here, truly means a lot 🥰

I am getting my beautiful chihuahua  girl (dog) on the 19 of January 🤩 I am so excited. This is the longest I have gone with out living with a dog.
Your girl Georgie is beautiful. And I couldn’t agree with you more on how much these loving animals enrich our lives, no words for it, you need to live it.

Dear @Fightinghard

First I want to tell you how much you inspire me with your perseverance. I am so proud of you 🙏

Regarding the booster, I did not feel any uptick in symptoms. I am so sorry to hear that you are in a wave, it’s so frustrating. I hope you will come out of it soon🙏

I am doing ok, I have not been in here lately as I have shifted my focus on another goal (stop smoking, finally after so many attempts… 5 weeks free💪

My anxiety has been so high that I could not open my jaw for 10 days a while ago. It’s called tmj disorder my doctor said and can be stress related. It was awful and scary, but thankfully it is better now.

I might be slowing down my taper soon, either doing longer holds or micro taper.
I do have doubts that my nervous system is damaged, and I won’t be able to reach the finish line to be honest, but I am trying to push those thoughts aside.

One thing is for sure though with everything that has come my way since I started this journey in 2019, I have never taken such good care of my well-being, this has been such a learning experience for me in so many ways. I have set goals and wanted to do better for myself, and reached some while still working on others. It feels good to achieve things, keeps me motivated.

You all have taught me so much and I am grateful for you all.
I wish you all a happy new year and may the new year bring you peace and happiness❤️

I will not be in SA much, as I do better with not focusing on my taper.

The late reply means that your thoughts are already busy with "real life",  and that's perfectly of with me ;)

I see in your signature that you decided to take a long hold: I think it's a brilliant idea, time to catch your breath at the beginning of the year and to give our tired nervous systems a little rest.

I am convinced that your nervous system is not damaged, just tired and destabilized by all the changes that these molecules can bring about. Nothing that time can't fix :)

I see that you are going to meet a dog soon: I wish you a lot of fun and comfort in this new adventure that is starting!

Take care @Hanna72 🧡

Just to let you know two things ..

The first is I’m thinking of you and hope the small  increase in med  is helping to stabilise you .
Secondly, during tapering the cuts catch up with us and symptoms can increase.  But please do not let this make you think you are stuck and can’t get off.  It’s the same for me I need to hold after several drops and I always think is this it?
Let me tell you it isn’t. Many people have the same issue and it’s just a matter of holding and waiting before we start to taper again.
The finishing line is moving closer. It’s by no means an easy journey but so many before us say its a journey worth making.
Take care x

Dear @Erelland @Longroadhome, thank you so much for the posts on my thread and endless kind words towards me, I truly appreciate all of your support through out the time I have been on here and everyone else’s.❤️
Unfortunately I have not been doing good, back up to 10 mg fluoxetine 🥲

I am just really beat down and hopeless to ever being drug free. I truly gave it my all for the past 3 years. I think I am either delusional or damaged not being able to be free.

You are all such wonderful people and I am glad to have walked with you in here.🙏

Take care everyone, until next time❤️😘

Hey @Hanna72,

Haven't been here in a while, just catching up now. Sorry to hear you've had a rough time. I think we chatted about fluctuating hormones before, pretty sure they exacerbate everything. I think you are neither delusional nor damaged permanently, for what it's worth.

Hello hanna,

It has been a very long time since I wrote to you. My symptomts were too bad I couldn't write like anything. How are you? I hope you are doing well.

i wasn't on a certain drug all the period. i took many drugs many times and for no very long period but to simplify.

--fluvoxamine maleate100 mg + amisulpride 200mg------started july 2012 and total taper in february 2015 ( 9 months without drugs then)

--sertraline 100mg -------started november 2015 and total taper (withoud reduction slowly) in november 2016( 4 months withoud drugs then).

--sertraline 100mg + quetiabine 25mg ( started in mars 2016 and for 7 months) then fluvoxamine maleate 100mg again for another 7months and after that a something like to use every drug for 14 days and for about 1.5 years.

--my last drug was trintellix 10 mg ( used it in 12/2018and total taper in 4/2019).

symptomts i have now ( bad concentration and problems in short and long memory+ bad depersonalization).

Hallo my dear friends

Thought of you all in here and thought I would write a few words to tell you how I am doing.

I am actually doing really good.

I got my beautiful little dog in January and what a love and joy she brings to my life🥰

She is the perfect distraction and keeps me busy every day for sure😅 I have even enrolled us in to dog shows, and we go to classes and seminars for preparation. And I love it.

Yes I did get really discouraged with the tapering at one point, and thought I was stuck forever on these drugs. It is just very disappointing to work hard at something and being knocked down after months and months of optimism, hope and focus, so yes I was not in a good space for a long time. Frustrated and disappointed in myself and without hope.

But….I want to try again. I have finally accepted that this will probably take me years to come off of, and that’s ok. Just don’t ever want to go back to the horrible crashing again, that feeling is insane, and makes you question for sure if something is actually wrong with you.

Thank you dear @sunnysideup69@Longroadhome@mustafafor dropping by my thread, really appreciate it💕

Much love to you all🥰

Hey everyone

Just a quick update on my tapering.
I haven’t upgraded my signature, but I went up to 20 mg fluoxetine months ago.
I have been able to go very slowly to 15 mg. I will stay at this point for some time I reckon.
I just want to be able to live my life at its fullest, and that is my goal for now,

I feel like I have lost such a big chunk of my life with withdrawals, and often wonder if it was worth the fight. This process is such a double edged sword, wanting to be free but not wanting to loose time in one’s life. As much as I want to get rid of the drug, my desire to live my best life is also as strong . But I seem to come back to this forum, so I am going to trust my gut instinct.

Anyways, that’s it for now.

hello hanna,

an immediate word from me is (never give up).

i think if you were ok on the drug, you wouldn't have come here to get rid of drugs. so i think , of course, it worth it.

always remind yourself that no one can be able to live his life at its fullest all the time. every one will suffer at a time so you have to always think about this and it may make you patient.

trust your instinct as you said and don't easily give up.

i wasn't on a certain drug all the period. i took many drugs many times and for no very long period but to simplify.

It’s very difficult coming off these drugs for many people @Hanna72. And many can’t make the transition to zero , and so leave this site.
I know you have the desire to do so, and that is why you return here once more.

I think it’s best not to think about losing time. I’d rather see it as gaining in knowledge and strength. A learning curve, making me a better person. Ready for a better life after recovery.

Believe in yourself Hanna. Believe that you can do it.

Thank you so much dear @Longroadhome and dear @mustafaI appreciate your words of comfort and support.

Yes true I have lost hope, a little bit, but I am not giving up obviously😅

Thinking about taking a trip to Manhattan with my mom. Last time I did it was a solo trip in 2019 at 10 mg paxil.

I can feel my stomach clenche at 15 mg fluoxetine,(anxiety) and thats ok. Pretty strange still at this high doze, but I will be fine,

I aim to function at 10 mg, but not rushing it.

Anyways, I just dropped by, I am not active in here at the moment, hopefully I can someday.

You are all my inspiration.

Thank you for caring💕

Thank you sweet @Arielfor dropping by my thread🥰

My dog is doing great, she is a handful for sure and we do all kinds of things together😃 She puts a smile on my face every single day and makes me so happy.

I am still at 15 mg fluoxetine, and it is surprisingly working well. As much as I want to drop a little, I won’t until I have finished my trip to NYC, which is in September. Can’t wait😄

For me it’s best to not overthink this process, that’s the reason I am not active in here, sorry about that. It just puts all kinds of nonsense and fear in my head, so I stay away.

I am feeling hopeful again, and I will update my signature and keep you posted on my progress.

Much appreciation to this community and respect to you all.

Thank you for letting us know how you are.

Please don't feel like you have failed because you are still on a psychiatric drug.  It might be that now is not the right time for you to be trying to get off.  That doesn't mean that it will not happen at some time in the future.

At least you have the information about how to do this when the time comes for you to try again.  And remember you don't have to reduce by 10%, you can always make small reductions.

Hi Hanna72,

So you are doing okay then or a little better now?  I think you're saying that if you don't want to reply.

I'm with Lrh above.  Never say never.

And we get it Hanna72.  Just not the right time.  I do hope a better time, or even just later settling on your lowest best dose will lead to your best life.

Best, L, P, H, and G,

we'll miss you.....but I get it, I step away from time to time too, same reason likely.....I start to feel everyone's symptoms like they are my own.  Sometimes, not always. Depends.

Thank you so much dear @Erell to drop by my thread, with your support and kindness 💕

I know I am all over the place, wanting to get off this drug but yet again not wanting to “waste” years on withdrawals.

I am so conflicted. But my heart says get off. So I struggle to decide, and I am scared.

So I was thinking maybe fluoxetine will be smoother to taper off from. I do tend to go faster then recommended cause I always think I can handle it, but I need to listen to your advice…I know.

I have found that my memory is really bad these days, and I have read it can be a side affect of the drug. It does scare me.

Anyways I am thinking out loud and putting my thoughts on here.

Take care everyone 🥰

Just a little update

This forum is the only place that I feel safe to express my thoughts and emotions. I am overall a very private person, and not one to talk about my « drug » use but here. On the other hand I have gotten more expressive over the years talking about phycotic drugs. With not so supporting views.
Anyways, I want to report good news, even though staying at 15 mg fluoxetine. When I switched to fluoxetine I could immediately feel that for me this drug was not as strong as Paxil. One comparison was the knot in my stomach that I had never experience on Paxil but do feel on fluoxetine.
I need to address the situation I have, one is having cyst in my pituitary gland, and another 3 cyst I have in my throat. I have never wanted to talk about it, but in my own opinion that’s due to long term use of Paxil. This is just my own opinion, no one in my family history has ever had this. Another thing is my jaw clenching which happened after Paxil. Just few weeks ago this has subsided hugely. I also blame this on Paxil as my nervous system was havoc after the long term drug use.

I am stating this for this site, as I know it might come in handy in the future.

I am staying at 15 mg for some time now. For me it’s best not to overthink or have details in my tapering. As it might overwhelm me.

I will be careful though.

Best regards to all💕

Dear @Hanna72  I'm sorry to hear about the cysts.  I developed ovarian cysts while on Zoloft.  It's my belief that Zoloft was the cause.  I was not overweight or showing other typical associated symptoms.  No one in my family had ever developed them.  I wish that I had had knowledgeable doctors who could have helped me first get off the Zoloft before rushing in and removing my ovaries, etc.  The cysts were benign.  Later I found studies linking antidepressants to ovarian cysts.  These are hard to find as neither Google nor Pubmed bring them up readily.

I hope this is useful to you and my very best wishes,

Hanna72,

I don't want to overwhelm you and I am trying now to stay calm myself but I was so happy

when you decided to come back to the site and continue to the fight to get off AD's.  It was a huge achievement bridging onto fluoxetine from the Seroxat as it's such a tough drug to get off - seems to be one of the worst ones.

I am dreadfully sorry to hear about the cysts - I am hoping you get the best medical advice and help possible for this.

2022 - 1 Jan 6.41; 1 Feb  - 6.1; 9 Mar -  5.8; 13 Mar - 5.9; 7 Apr - 5.8; 21 Apr - 5.7; 7 May - 5.63; 23 May - 5.55; 8 June 5.50;  (got COVID on 12th June so held); 1 July 5.4; 15 July 5.32; 8 Aug 5.2; 15 Aug 5.1; 22 Aug 5; 19 Sept 4.9; 2 Oct 4.81; 13 Oct 4.71; (COVID Booster 17/10/22 so longer hold ); 1 Nov 4.65; 3 Nov 4.60; 10 Nov 4.55; 13 Nov 4.50; 17 Nov 4.45; 20 Nov 4.40;  2 Dec 4.30mg; 9 Dec 4.20mg; I discovered that the volumetric container measured 33ml rather than 30ml in Dec 2022. Following helpful advice from moderator OnMyWay (see her  reply of the 5th March) discovered taper with the dilution was 3.8mg (calculated by dividing 30/33 so that every 1ml of solution has  0.90ml of Mirtazapine.  7.50 - 0.90= 6.6ml which was the starting dose on 16th Aug 2021 not 7.5ml).  I decided to keep using the solution as I didn't want more change to deal with than I had to.

This is not 'medical advice' - my 'non medical advice' is don't get any more 'medical advice' or you may end up getting more 'medical treatment' i.e more drugs, DSM labels and/or ECT.   Please do not PM me thanks.
