thanks,Carmie.

I really enjoyed the day...we drove down to the shore( I guess you call it the beach🙂) it was beautiful day, walked on the beach and boardwalk ( do you have them?) got my favorite fudge before we left for home.

yeah, I love being out in nature,it's good for the soul.

some anxiety this morning but not too bad.

I read that you have CFS.that must make WD so much more difficult,my heart goes out to you.

sending healing thoughts to you.

take care,ds

xx

Glad you enjoyed the day,

I love being near the water, yes, the beach😀. Anywhere near water actually, lakes, streams, creeks, rivers. In nature I think there really isn’t anything more soothing than water, I love the sound water makes, the crashing waves are amazing.

No, we don’t have any boardwalks near the beaches where I am. We do have some small boardwalks that go into the mangroves here and there. We have bike tracks and walkways though.

Yes, CFS is no fun, been pretty much in bed all day today but I’m in good spirits. Went to a concert on Friday and have had friends over for lunch this week. Have got a few things planned next week too. I love planning things, I have plenty of time when I’m stuck in bed😀.

Hope you enjoy more walks along the boardwalk 💚

Thank you Direstraits,

Hope that you’ve enjoyed many more walks on the boardwalk. Every time I hear the word boardwalk I start singing: “ Under the boardwalk, down by the sea ...”😂

I had a lovely day yesterday outdoors with friends in the morning, love looking at greenery and I saw the most amazing purple flowers. They brought a smile to my face. Nature is so soothing, definitely important when going through withdrawals.

Had friends over for lunch too which was lovely. Making the most of the window I’m in. Hoping to catch up with friends again tomorrow.

A friend of mine sent me a whole heap of cards she had made. She’s really ill and in a lot of pain and is housebound a lot of the time and she finds making cards is what keeps her going. I’m hoping to go through all the cards and write some cheery hello notes, thank you notes, get well notes and the like and give them to my friends. Her cards are always so beautiful, she puts so much effort into them.

She’s not going through withdrawals but because of her severe health problems she too finds distractions is what one needs to get through the day. We all need to find things that we love to do and do them, doesn’t matter if we feel anhedonic or not.

Enjoy your walks, under the boardwalk, down by the sea🌊😀💚

Hi, @Carmie I plan  on many more walks on the boardwalk this summer since I've been starting to get some better days.

I love that song-Under the boardwalk- the quintessential summer song,🙂

it sounds like you have a lot of wonderful friends, that's great.

I think I kinda isolated myself taking care of my disabled daughter all those years and really didn't socialize much.

I'm pretty shy to begin with, too.😔

so sorry to read about your friend who's suffering so much, but she's still able to make cards for you....bless her.

we have to be grateful for what we can do each day, there's always someone worse off.

glad to read you're in a window!hope it lasts awhile.

take care,ds

Hi direstraits,

So glad you’re planning more boardwalk walks. If I lived near the beach I’d be down there all the time. The waves are soothing, great when going through withdrawals.

Yes, it’s hard to make friends when you’re shy. Maybe you could join a group that does crafts, paints or something? It’s hard though when withdrawals are bad to try and act cheery when you feel so horrible though. I think I’ve become really good at putting on a front. My friends have seen me in tears a few times though too. They’re pretty cool, they take me as I come.

I’m afraid I’ve never been shy, I’m very outgoing. Have you ever done the Myers Briggs personality test? I’m an ENFP,  which is one of the extroverted personalities, but the one that needs the most alone time too. I love people but I like my space too.

Hope you’re coping as best you can. Just read your signature again, must be hard being in protracted withdrawal. That big open window with fresh air will one day open really wide for you.

Take care💚💚

I was taking walks with my friend from high school at the park until we moved a couple years ago,and we kinda got out of touch with each other.

yes,it's hard when you don't know how you'll feel from day to day, and really can't make plans.

also, I haven't been able to drive for a few years, due to eye problems....I did finally have a cataract removed that I thought was due to blurry vision from WD!

my eyes are still not right but hope I will be driving again someday...I miss it.

never heard of that test, sounds interesting though

I've worked with the public in jobs I've had and did enjoy it, I think  it's easy to fall back into old patterns if you don't stay connected to others.

thanks for your kind words.

hope you have a good day.

Thank you DS, I was very happy that we heard of each other. You seem to me already better. It is already such a long time since we both fell into withdrawal.

I feel like on the beginning when I spent the most of my day on surviving antidepressants. These were funny times. I remember how they kicked me out of the work.

The children are ok.

It is good to see you so calm and balanced, somewhat enjoying the life.

Take care

Hi Direstraits,

Just checking in see how you are. Hope you’re still enjoying your beach walks. On Monday I went for a walk from the Parklands in the City to the botanic gardens. I needed to be out in nature and enjoy the beauty around me. I ended up going outdoors with friends again on Tuesday morning, but have mainly been resting since then. It was good to get out in nature, I took millions of photos.

I find photo editing a great distraction when too sick to go out.

I came across two waterfalls, two lakes and the river. Nothing more soothing than being near water.

It’s definitely hard to make plans when you’re ill. We just have to live from day to day. I hope that your eye sight gets better soon, a friend of mine had cataracts taken off both eyes recently too.

Hope you’re coping okay, sending hugs🤗

thanks for your concern, @Carmie

your walk sounded wonderful, I love being around water, too.

we drove down to Atlantic city yesterday to check out the new Hard Rock casino, wasn't a very enjoyable experience.

had to walk a good distance from the parking lot in 90+ degree heat to get there, got blisters on my feet, then they had all these penny slot machines,we were looking for quarter slots.very disappointing.

we did have anice lunch at arestaurant on the way home.

anyway ,feeling pretty worn out today.

just to update,I think I'm moving in the right direction, seem to be able to get out and do more than before, still getting some obsessive thinking about the past and some crying jags at times but have been much worse.

I've been having loose bowels the past week ( sorry if tmi) and wonder if it's WD or not.

hope you're coping OK,Carmie.

hugs,ds

Hi Direstraits,

How have u been? Are u still able to get out a bit more?  Hope those blisters of yours have healed and you’ve had some enjoyable walks since. I’ve been in nature most of the weekend. I saw a spectacular waterfall that flows into a cave, also a lovely big running creek, a dam etc. Just beautiful. I found a swimming spider in the creek, apparently it was only discovered here in Australia in 2016.

I love all creatures great and small. If I’m well enough I’m hoping to go to Australia Zoo this weekend. The Irwin family will be feeding the crocodiles during the school holidays. They have meerkats at the zoo now. I love meerkats. The otters are so cute too.

Hope the loose bowels have settled, yes it can be a withdrawal symptom. Pretty much anything can be a withdrawal symptom because our CNS is pretty much connected to our whole body.

Take care💚

Hi, @Carmie

your weekend sounded lovely....I hope you're well enough to go to the zoo, sounds like fun.

my husband and I always enjoyed watching Steve Irwin on the Crocodile Hunter and were so sad when he passed away.

my cat hasn't been well lately and it's causing me a lot of distress...and I had the runs again this morning and don't have much of an appetite.

anyway, hope you have a great weekend at the zoo!

Hi direstraits,

So sorry to hear about your cat. Any stress certainly doesn’t help our withdrawal symptoms.

Im sorry you’ve had the runs too, I get diarrhoea every now n again too. Withdrawals cause havoc to every single thing in our body as everything is connected to the CNS.

I did have a lovely time at the zoo today, thank you. I wanted to take all the meerkats home😀. The otters were cute too, so playful. And Bindi, Robert and Terri have such energy. I have hardly any energy at all with CFS, I do have one of those creative brains though and I’m always thinking of millions of ideas. I’m never bored, so I guess that’s a blessing.

I hope your appetite comes back💚💚

worst day I've had in awhile....it just feels never ending...Iknow I've been getting more better days but when I feel like this it all feels meaningless...I hope to God this means more healing is happening and I'll come out the other side feeling better than before.

I'm exhausted.

So sorry, DS.  I haven't really been on site--just "lurking"--but I have been seeing your posts.  This is just so hard!  I have occasional "better" days, but certainly not as good or as often as I would like.  Four years off now for me!  When does it end?!  I guess the fact that we do have better days tells us there is still healing going on, and we will eventually get there!!

XOXO

Ds, it is just a bad day for you. Tell yourself that tommorrow will be better. And be kind to yourself now when your body doesnt feel so well. In a few days will be again sun shining for you, you'll see.

HI luv2knit,

so good to hear from you!

I guess we're going in the right direction but if only we could get there faster!

all we can do is keep moving forward and pray this will end someday.❤️

Hi Direstraits,

Im so sorry you had one of your worst days yesterday. You’re definitely healing as you’re getting windows but like you said, sometimes when we’re in a wave you feel like this journey is never ending.

Do you have any good distractions? A friend of mine got me a diamond painting of an owl and now I’m hooked on making more. You can get landscape and animal patterns, I even ordered a Star Wars one. It’s like paint by numbers but instead you stick on these little diamond looking things made of plastic.

They make good presents too. You can put them in a frame afterwards and give them to your friends.

I got some some really cute ones of animals. I got a beach one as well. I got about six or seven off eBay as they will come in really handy when I’m in withdrawals or my brain fog is severe from CFS. It’s just sticking the right colours on the numbers. They haven’t arrived yet. I’m glad my friend bought me one, now I keep telling her she’s got me addicted to diamond paintings😃.

Im curious as to how the Star Wars one will turn out. If I like it I’ll get some more n make them for those friends of mine who are also Star Wars fans.

Here’s to finding distractions.

Sending hugs🤗

Sorry for you bad day DS :(

Yes I think that's what they are... My thyroid meds also have been moved around, and it didn't help... I think I shouldn't have touched that even if they said the labs weren't optimal.

Yes feeling anxious and depressed, same here, I absolutely understand. The crazy insomnia has been there for a year now. It feels like it will never end. I wish we lived close by so at least we could share in person and go for a quit walk...

Hope it gets better for both of us too. xx
