In the previous two days I went through a window compared to the wave a week ago.  And I say a window, meaning that I can tolerate the symptoms, not that the window means great happiness free from pain!

The past two days have calmed down a lot.. today I feel dizziness and lightheadedness, a feeling that I will fall to the ground, love for loneliness and isolation, and hate meeting people and sitting with them 😔

It sounds as though you are going through the typical windows and waves pattern of recovery.  When you reduced in May, you dropped by a higher percentage than what we suggest - you dropped by about 15%.  Shep, another moderator, warned you of this previously.  Is there someone who can help you to translate our posts into your language, and help you with your tapering?  Cipralex/Lexapro is a very strong drug, 2 to 4 times stronger than other SSRI's, and at the lower doses, it has an even more potent effect on our brains.  In this link, pay attention to the chart.  It shows that at the lower doses, a decrease has an even bigger impact on our brains.  So, the lower we get, the more important it is to do smaller reductions, and be very careful about not reducing again until we are stable.  We suggest a 10% reduction of the current dose.  So, your next reduction would be 2.7 mg.

Why Taper by 10% of my Dosage

Occupancy Studies

Stability

My suggestion would be to hold for a while, until the windows and waves settle down.  A hold for several months would probably give your system a much needed break.  Also, when you do a reduction, please include the day of the month, thank you.

I just want an answer to my question.. Is lethargy a symptom of Cipralex (Lexapro) withdrawal?🌹

@Mutfaelplease stop lowering your doses for a month. Don't make any reductions. Then your next dose should be 3.2 mg, then after that 2.9mg, then after that 2.6mg - around 10% every month. If you continue lowering by more than 10% you will suffer and we can't help you.

Am I right or wrong?... My way of taking doses is to fill a 100 ml medical syringe with water, then put a 10 mg tablet, shake the syringe, and take on the first day 30 ml, meaning 3 mg Cipralex, and so on..... then put it in the refrigerator  From tomorrow, I will take the same dose, of course, after shaking and shaking the syringe. Is my method right or wrong?

That is a very good way to do it. Just make sure that you shake it up really well, like you are doing.

20 years on Paxil starting at 20mg and working up to 40mg. Sept 2011 started 10% every 6 weeks taper (2.5% every week for 4 weeks then hold for 2 additional weeks), currently at 7.9mg. Oct 2011 CTed 15oz vodka a night, to only drinking 2 beers most nights, totally sober Feb 2013.

Since I wrote this I have continued to decrease my dose by 10% every 6 weeks (2.5% every week for 4 weeks and then hold for an additional 2 weeks). I added in an extra 6 week hold when I hit 10mg to let things settle out even more. When I hit 3mgpw it became hard to split the drop into 4 parts so I switched to dropping 1mgpw (pill weight) every week for 3 weeks and then holding for another 3 weeks.  The 3 + 3 schedule turned out to be too harsh so I cut back to dropping 1mgpw every 4 weeks which is working better.

Final Dose 0.016mg.     Current dose 0.000mg 04-15-2017

I can't stand the symptoms anymore.. I will wait for a month on the usual dose of 3 mg. If I do not get stability, I will stop the medication completely.

@Mutfael

I'm sorry the symptoms are so challenging.

I haven't read your whole thread but based on your drug signature I see you're tapering off of escitalopram.

I used to be on escitalopram and came off of it much too quickly in 2018. I've been in protracted withdrawal ever since.

From personal experience I know what a difficult drug escitalopram can be to quit.

SA has taught me that escitalopram is much stronger than other SSRIs.

Maybe you know this already, however it may be useful to remember when you are feeling overwhelmed.

Your body is working hard to heal from the iatrogenic effects caused by a very potent drug.

I know it can feel impossible to practice patience when we are suffering, this healing process can feel unbearably slow.

However, healing is happening. Healing is happening all the time, even when we don't consciously feel it.

Please think about how far you've come.

You're at 3 mg down from 15. That's a big achievement! Give yourself lots of credit for your hard work.

@Mutfaelplease stop lowering your doses for a month. Don't make any reductions. Then your next dose should be 3.2 mg, then after that 2.9mg, then after that 2.6mg - around 10% every month. If you continue lowering by more than 10% you will suffer and we can't help you.

The best way to honor yourself and the hard work that has brought you this far is to go gently.

Stick with the plan, don't make any impulsive decisions.

Please do not quit your medication cold turkey, it will only hurt you.

Hold as needed and give the body, brain, nervous system plenty of time, space, stability to heal.

Hi @Mutfael

Thanks for clarifying that. I feel relieved.

You've got many people here who care about you support you in accomplishing your goal.

We do take your words seriously, because this is the nature of an online forum with written communication -- we only have each other's words to go by. We don't have facial expressions or body language or voice modulation or context clues, there are no non-verbal cues.

I would like to make a suggestion. If you are feeling angry and want to express this, perhaps you might write: I am feeling angry.

Same goes for any other emotions. You might try to share directly what you are feeling.

Just a thought, take it or leave it.

I am glad you will not suddenly stop the medication.

I am sorry for the intensity of the pain you are enduring.

I am sorry you're experiencing these many challenging symptoms.

All of these symptoms that I mentioned in the previous post 👆 were present when I was taking the full dose, but in a slight way that did not constitute an obstacle.. What prompted me to quit the drug was lethargy and a lot of sleep!  Now when I reduced the dose, the rate of feeling symptoms increased clearly

If you went from 3.5mg to 3mg that is a 14.2857% decrease.  SA's recommended maximum reduction amount is 10%.

If you decide to make a 10% for your next reduction the new dose will be 2.7mg BUT you will need to be stable before you start tapering again.

In 2015, I was taking Seroxat 20 mg and then decided to stop the medication and it decreased quickly, as I take 10 mg for two weeks, then 5 mg for two weeks, then stopped for 6 months.. The first days and months passed by fine, but in the fourth month I started feeling a little scared and continued determined to stop the medication and then  The fifth month passed and the situation began to get worse, as the lack of focus, depression and anxiety began, then I reached the sixth month and I could not bear it, as everything attacked me as I feel now!  Then I went back to taking Seroxat 20 mg again..

Yes, these kinds of drugs are notorious for causing a delayed withdrawal.

If you taper no faster than 10% per month, you are less likely to suffer like you did back in 2015.

That's right, the withdrawal was delayed and after 6 months... Thank you for your interest 🌹 Note.. This week is much lighter than last week and less painful as the fatigue a week ago was very severe with depression, severe anxiety and a more severe headache!  As for this week, I passed a few windows with fatigue, but less than last week.
