Thank you for checking still doing ruff. My dads ok stable he's slowly dying of congestive heart failure and kidney failure. It's hard to deal with its always been me and him he's my best friend role model and hero :( I feel like this withdrawal is steal my last bit of time with him since am all messes up and not the same person I was 16 months ago :( before coming off the meds I miss my old self so so much

2007 till 2020 prescribed citalopram 20mg first few years and then bumped up to 40mg cant remember exact time when moved up or why the dr wanted me to

2016 started taking a specific brand of citalopram (amneal) as found out through trial and error. That when my pharmacy would switch brands caused ups and downs

2016 started taking modafanil 100 mg to help ease the fatigue from citalopram. Ended up being perfect combo. Life was amazing and for first time in life was truly happy. Dad retired we moved to a small homestead and I started building my dream of a self sufficient homestead and taking care of dad. Life was good till one day I went to fill my prescription and they said amneal no longer makes citalopram. And your Dr has it to be brand specific. I called my dr and she said since we know other brands made me feel worse. And that since Life was going so well try without the meds.  No mention of withdrawl. That was end of Feb 2020 Was ok for about 2 months then had cardiac arrest and been living in withdrawal hell ever since

@Greenjoe04 I am so sorry that your dad is not doing well.  Are you able spend anytime with him?  This WD is a horrible thing.

It sounds like it is just the 2 of you.  Is there no one else that can help out?   You are doing the best you can, I'm sure your dad is just happy being with you.  Who knows you could have a nice big window in your WD and have many days were you feel good.  I think you have paid your dues and deserve some relief.☺️

You were taking Modafanil for awhile, that was for fatigue?  Why did you stop taking that?  Do you think that would help with your fatigue?

You know if you need anything you can tag the person you want to talk and they will get a notice.  Like I tagged you.  If you have any questions for a mod, tag them and they will get back to you.  If you don't tag then they may not know you need something.

Hang in there, things will work out.

Its raining here.  How about where you are.

Thank you so much @Greatful for keeping checking on me means so much to me. It's just me and my dad all other family is far away.  I was on modafanil from fatigued caused by the citalopram. my dr had me stop citalopram after they stopped making the brand I took. And other brands made me dizzy she also had me stop the modafanil at the same time  since I wasn't on the citalopram anymore, which was the main reason for the modafanil. For all I know I have cfs or something and dr just assumed it was from the citalopram and now that I'm off both its still there. Or from my disk in neck compressing my spinal cord now after my fall I have no idea whats all going on with my body and mind it's so frustrating.   I just know I have no energy to do anything and am miserable have alot of anxiety and other mental stuff as well that I never had before in life.  I can hang out with my dad some I make him food get his pills and stuff but thats about it other wise am in bed non stop tired Before coming off the meds I was building a self sufficient homestead. Here for me and him I Cut wood and did manual labor all day everday. No problem. Was happy it was a good life. I have thought alot about reinstatement. But with all the horror stories I'm terrified to make things worse I can't handle any worse. My dr did say we could try just  the modafanil and see if would help. But since they don't make the  brand of citalopram that worked with me anymore and the other brands made me dizzy I'd have to try a different antidepressant I don't think I want to ever be on another ssri from everything I've learned and how harmful they are.  I think modafanil isn't as hard on the body why thought maybe could try just that but  can't get over the fear of making things worse and messing myself up more

Almost forgot it's been a rainy day here as well.  another one of my guinea fowl got hit by a car down to only one now I had 3 for 4 years and in last week 2 got hit by cars since for some reason they keep wanting to go out into the road now. So that's been ruff to deal with as well.

@Greenjoe04  The sun is out.  Go out side, find some shade, get your dad, sit in some comfy chairs and enjoy the morning or day if that's when you see this.😊

I am sorry about your guinea fowls.😪  Man that's tuff.

@Greenjoe04 Stopping by to see how your week is going?  Is the fatigue letting up at all?  Were you able to spend any time with your dad?

I had a rough couple days.  They advised me to move my Lexapro up to noon.  I started Friday moving it up a hour a day.  I am super sensitive and probably more now,  it sent me into a depressed and very anxious state.  Well I made it through today, tomorrow will be better.

I wonder if you could see a different doctor who might actually run some tests to see if there is an underlying physical cause of your severe fatigue.  Many doctors just want to throw drugs at their patients.

@Greenjoe04  I have a long story...I tried to taper off of Prozac last summer.  I got down to around 3mg,  started to crash in Nov.  I did not know that it was WD and of course the doctor didn't either so I started to panic and we started try this drug thing.  Tried  Zoloft for a month was not good, it felt like my head was plugged in to a light socket stopped, Tried Seroquel to sleep, didn't work so well and I started to feel paranoid, stopped, tried Wellbutrin  for 4 days, it made me mildly manic, stopped  I was so desperate went back to Seroquel.  50mg-to 100mg-to 150mg horrible headaches, arms and legs started to feel weak stopped at 6 weeks.  Really desperate went on Lexapro.  Start at 5mg than to 7.5mg to 10mgThe side effects were horrible intense anxiety(doc comment well it usually is for anxiety, some hypo mania at work and anger.  He really wanted me  to try and get to 10mg.  I lasted about 7 days and couldn't take dropped back down to 7.5mg  Doc tells me to go on a drug holiday,  I told him a have already been on it for a month and didn't want to go into WD from it.  I went to 5mg. As we were going on and off meds I was also dropping down on my Lamictal  to fast. Joined SA and it seem that I was in WD the whole time from the Prozac and Seroquel and to fast a taper form Lamictal anyway.  SA advised me to hold at 5mg until I stabilize.  So here I sit on Lexapro that isn't agreeing with me, 37.5mg of lamictal, 25mg of Trazodone (for sleep) and a small doze of xanax.  It looks like I will be tapering for awhile.  So from last summer to April I have been off and on 5 meds.  I hope things settle down soon, I want off of Lexapro to see if it is causing some of my issues.  Like you I am sick of feeling like I am half human.  Today I am feeling fatigue, low mood, arms and legs weak, panicky, numb on the left side of my face and head and left eye is sore, my brain will not think right. AND I am so sick of my head ZAPPING,TINGLING, NUMB, SORE PRESSURE SPOTS DIZZY.

Are you sorry you asked😬 I am not making you feel any better😞 Sorry, I am suppose to be cheering you on, not dumping on you.

I'm am trying to remind myself that I am in WD and to not take these symptoms personally,  they are not a refection of me doing anything wrong.  I walk most days, I try to eat, do mindfulness, meditate, think positive, sit outside.  I guess all I have left is to find patience.  We have to dig deep and we will make it through this.💪🙂

Have a good day

Thanks for listening.

@getofflexI have had a ton of tests done already found nothing out of the ordinary

Hello @Greenjoe04

I'm really sorry to read how rough things are at the moment.

Whenever I feel like I can't keep going, I flood my brain with my favourite Success Stories and quotes. I read them, again and again, until I'm able to believe that yes things can get better and all I have to do is to hang on, keep going.

Sending hugs ❤

@Greenjoe04 I am really in a low spot to.  Please keep talking and letting out your feelings. But know in the back of your brain you do want to go on.  You have battled this and you will keep battling.  Read the success stories.  Look back and look for any small improvement.  Do you keep a journal?  Start one, when  you are having a bad day you can look back a see that there has been moments that were okay and then over time you will start to see small improvements that you didn't know you were having.  I started telling myself the glass is half full.  Dig down deep for a positive statement you can tell yourself over and over again.

What are your symptoms?   fatigue ?

Maybe you should tag Brassmonkey and see if you could try re-instate a small amount of Modafanil.  Did you have fatigue before you were on citalopram?  I know that citalopram made you very tired, but did you have a milder form of fatigue before?

Please  remember you are your own unique and special person.  You are loved by many people

@GreatfulI don't think ever had fatigue before going on but was so long ago I have no idea  and even the fatigue I had before got on the modafanil was nothing like it is now . I can't function. I don't know if the modafanil broke my natural way to make energy.  I just want to die things are never going to be what they once were. I'm dealing with my spinal cord issues as well. My whole body is falling apart. These stupid pills broke my brain my back and neck are basically broken for life from ddd I'm useless now I'm just a useless blob I've gain 50 lbs can't loose weight am always in pain and tired.  its just wearing on me and I don't know how long I am keep going I'm tired and just want to be done. A year and a half ago I was happy. Functional and building a homestead. I used to get up early with a smile and do projects around the homestead, take care of dad and things were good. Now I just lay in bed all day in pain. I try to do things that I used to to make me happy and they just don't work.

@Greenjoe04Can I ask why you were on citalopram.  Maybe you should try an re-instate a small dose that.  I know you said something about brand of citalopram.  Were you talking about the name brand or generic brand?

@Greenjoe04  If you could get to where you were more stable then you could wean off the safe way.   Have you thought about that?  Please tag brassmonkey or any mod. and see if something could work.  I don't like it when you are so down and it is scares me.  I really want to be done with these drugs also but I will get more depressed if I dwell on it.  I have to get in a better spot to do it the right way

 Please take care of yourself.

@Greenjoe04  Please don't read that.  All the mods here are reassuring that your brain will heal.  You are not defected. Please be kind to yourself.  Things can get better, you can find a way.   I have to trust in that, I have been on meds for over 20 yrs.  Look at all the success stories and see how well they are doing.  Yes it may take sometime for the repair work, but you can still have a life while the brain is repairing.

You are not bring me down. I want you to keep talking.

Please consider it.  A very low dose may be all you need.  I really don't want you to go back on meds, but I don't think you are doing so well where you are at.

@Greenjoe04If you talk to brassmonkey and ask him the questions that are bothering you, he may be able to help.  I have heard that people have reinstated a very small .5mg and wait to see if they do okay on it.  I really don't know enough about it, but the mods here do.  What would it hurt to ask a few question and see if their answers help you make a decision that you feel comfortable with.  They will not push anything on you.

@Greenjoe04  What do you mean you already read the first few replies.  Are you talking about at the beginning of your thread?  You do not know if reinstatement will be worse.  You are not thinking with a clear mind.  You need to stop saying your brain is damaged.  It may feel like it right now, but you are struggling with WD.   I think you should investigate  a reinstatement.  Ask for advice from the mods. Are you thinking you can wait out the withdrawals?  I am right there for you if you think you can wait out the WD.  But I also want you to be safe and happy.  Spend time with your dad.  I am worried that you are making decisions without really looking and weighing out your options.  It is hard to do when you are in so much pain.  Can you trust just a little bit what the mods say with the experience and knowledge they have helping people.

@Greenjoe04  Good morning,  I hope you have a better day today😊.

Did Brassmonkey have any ideas for you?  Did you private message him, I don't seem any post to him.  Did he help ease your mind that you are not brain damaged!!!   Did you discuss any of your fears?

@Greenjoe04  Oh good you feeling better. Maybe this a widow for you and you will get a brake from some of the WD.  You really did your did a shock to your cns.  Your doctor had no idea what she did.  Did you ever go back to her/him?

I know it is warm outside, but can you go out and sit for a little while?  How is your dad doing?

I thought maybe you had talked to Brasssmonkey recently.   You know he will help you out at anytime.

I hope you have a good day🤩

@GreatfulI would not call it a window im just not feeling like ending it all. Still feel horrible. Hope your feeling ok. and have a happy 4th im stuck in my bed

@Greenjoe04 It is still better then yesterday.  I am have been having a really hard time since last Thursday.  They made me move my lex from 5pm to noon. one hour at a time started a week ago  Friday and shortly after I started to move it things went down hill.  Major anxiety and depression.  Friday and Saturday the depression was worse.  I haven't had this bad anxiety for awhile.  It feels like light tingling in my arms and legs, almost like electricity.  Feel shaky to.  It is so hot out I can't even be outside.  Not many people on line probably because it is the holiday.  Hey maybe my brain is damaged too😉  What all symptoms do you get?

@Greenjoe04  How are you doing today.  It is another hot on.  I am going crazy sitting in house.  I am getting really restless.  I went for a little walk I didn't go as far as I wanted to, too hot.

How is your dad doing.  Does he go to the store for supplies?

Talk soon
