The outdoor pool is too cold to swim in at the moment, though there is a warm spa outside that I didn’t use. I went to the indoor heated pool. It was amazing. I helped young kids that were staying there to swim from one end of the pool to the other. I think the best thing one can do in this struggle with withdrawals is to help others. It really does help to get ourselves outside ourselves. I’m in a window but still have symptoms.

Thanks Rabe,

Im missing the beach n the swimming pools😂. Yes, wanted to make lots of great memories before I go back to the tapering. I was watching these people down at Surfers Paradise that do flying. It’s this big wind machine n you float in the air because of the pressure of the wind. Off course, there’s an instructor helping you n holding you until you feel safe enough to do it on your own.  It was really expensive though for just two minutes, so I didn’t do it. Fun to watch though.

I really, really, really want to go on the canal ride again. It was liberating just cruising on a boat. My sister lives down the Coast too, so maybe I’ll do that again next time. I really didn’t want it to end, though one of my poor friends was queasy the whole time.

Thanks again for dropping by💚

Yes, holiday was great. I have two mottos with these withdrawals and that is make lots of happy memories when you’re in windows n distract! distract! distract! when you’re in waves.

I find having happy happy memories helps me get through the tough times n helps me to see I will have more of them in the future.

Take care💚

Could someone please help me and see if I got these calculations right. Thanks sooo much.

A 7.5mg compounded capsule in 300ml of water.

Each ml = 0.025mg

Half a ml= 0.012mg

Quarter of a ml= 0.006mg

5% Of 7.5mg = 0.37mg

Thanks again for whoever can help me. I did these calculations ages ago n I’m hopeless at math. I love reading though😀💚

Thanks Rabe for that,

I had a look at it and I did get the calculations right as regard how much to taper each month at 5% but I still have to figure out how much of the titration liquid I need to take out every day from the 300ml of water so I have taken out 0.37mg a month.

Any help welcome😀. I’ll have to put on my mathematical hat again, it’s not a very efficient one.✖️

I’d be very grateful if someone would be able to tell me how much of the liquid I would have to take out daily to do a daily microtaper.

I’m going to be putting a 7.5ml compounded capsule in 300ml of water n I need to be down by 0.37 mg at the end of each month.  I’ll probably hold for a week or two as for the Brassmonkey slide. According to that schedule it will take me ten years or so to get off these meds.

Thanks so much 💚💚

Was just reading on Alto’s page on microtapering that it is best to reduce once a week instead of daily. So I will have to figure out how to get to 7.41mg, 7.31mg, 7.21mg and 7.13 in the first month of microtaperng. These are the figures in Brassmonkey’s calculator.

Can’t think anymore, bad brain fog.

Have a happy day everyone☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️

Hi Carmie,

I'm just looking now at your figures and calculations.

7.5 mg(milligram) compounded capsule in 300 mL(millileter) of water.

You'll have 0.025 mg : 1.0 millileter this way.

0.025 mg per each 1.0 mL

Right now you are taking 7.5 mg.   So you drink the whole 300 mL.  Are you doing this now?

To figure out how many mL's you'll need for 7.41 mg I just did it fractionally, kind of algebraic.

And came up with 296.4 mL= 7.41 mg

So you'd drink 296 millileters for your next taper to 7.41 mg.

Take out 4 mL and drink the rest of the solution.

I'll ask someone else to take a look at the maths for you too.  It will be good to explain it to you in a way..... that you can do the calculations confidently.

I saw you figuring here on your thread before and meant to come back so I'm glad you posted.

12/2015---just holding, holding, holding, with trileptal/oxcarb at 75 mg. 1/2 tab at hs.  My last psycho med ever!  Tapered @ 10% every 4 weeks, sometimes 2 weeks to

Hi Manymoredaystocome,

Thank you for your kindness. I’m struggling with bad brain fog but I see by your calculations I would have to take out 4ml every week. That makes it easy. Thank you for getting someone else to check too.

Im still crushing my 25mg tablet n just taking 7.5mg of it. I’ve been using 20ml of water for quite a long time now but I wanted to microtaper so decided to get a 7.5mg compounded capsule n use that with 300mg of water.

I haven’t gone to pick up the script yet but when I do I will start of by putting the capsule in the 300ml of water n drinking the whole lot. I probably won’t taper it until I see how I go with the change first as I’ve noticed that not all measuring devices are exactly the same.

Thank you again so much for your kind help💚

I have to say it’s wonderful waking up to a “happy wall”.

You know how you can have a soothe box, or as some people call it, a survival box. In there you put all the things you find comforting so when you’re in bad waves you have them all at your disposal. I still haven’t gotten around to making my soothe box but I have a soothe or happy wall in the bedroom. I’ve been working on that.

It makes me smile when I wake up to it. I have all sorts of things on there, I’ve painted positive signs, I’ve got things from places I’ve visited like a map of the zoo n a concert ticket. I’ve been to millions of concerts but I never keep the tickets, though ive kept the last one.

Im a massive balloon fan, so I bought some balloon holders n now I always have balloons on my wall too. I loooove waking up n seeing balloons. I will continue to add to my wall. Whenever I do happy things I will add a momento to my wall. My wall is one big art construct, it’s fun. I’m amazed too how long air stays in the balloons too.

If you’re able to make yourselves a happy wall, it will help in the mornings, especially if the mornings are scary because of cortisol  spikes.

Wishing everyone a happy day☀️☀️☀️

Thanks for your kind words Rabe,

Got bad brain fog at the moment so I can’t read much. I put my compounding order in, it should be ready next week. I’ll take it for a little while n then I’ll start tapering it. I’ve found that measuring equipment can be quite different so I just want to stabilise on the compounded formula before I start tapering it.

Yes, balloons are cool! They always make me smile. I’ve ordered a ton of eBay. I love the yellow ones with the smiley faces, waiting for those. I love giving them to kids too n seeing them smile.

Haven’t been up to much today, I’ve been in bed mainly crocheting n watching Gilmore Girls n YouTube videos. Gilmore Girls is my favourite show ever! I can really relate to the show as I’m quirky n nutty too. I don’t like being put in a box, I’m an out of a box thinker n love creativity.

Youtube is so cool too, it’s a great distraction too when going through withdrawals as you can find subjects on just about anything. Love it!

Well it’s nearly beddy byes here in Australia, Nighty nite Rabe n thanks again for dropping by💚💚

Hi Rabe,

The compounding pharmacist is turning my 25mg tablets into 7.5mg capsules. I still haven’t figured out the math yet for tapering it. Manymoredaystocome is going to help me thankfully as I have to try n figure out the math to go with the brassmonkey slide. I will be getting enough compounding tablets to last six months.

Too braindead to think about the tapering at the moment.

I will be adding it to 300ml of water to the capsule.

I’ve managed to get myself down from 300mg to 7.5mg with my calculations, though in the beginning there were no calculations as I knew nothing about tapering but just kept cutting the next smallest dose.

As regards the 25mg tablet I just added it to 20mg of water n then just swallowed as much as needed out of the syringe. At the moment I’m drinking 6ml which equals 7.5mg. Miraculously I managed to figure out the math😀.

With microtapering I’m actually doing it the other way around, I have to remove water from the 300mls once a week and then drink the remaining water. According to Manymoredaystocome’s calculation I need to take out 4mls the first week.

The calculator you mentioned shows how many mgs to take each week but I still have to figure out how much water to take out to get close to the calculations. Really struggling to think at the moment. I’ll get there in the end somehow.

Firstly when I get my compounded capsules I’ll stay on 7.5mg for a week or two in case there was a measuring difference in my syringe as the measurements from different receptacles vary.

Would like to read more on here today but my brain fog is bad.

Hope you have a happy day Rabe n wishing u lots of balloons too😂🎈🎈🎈

Hi Carmie,

You won't want to take any out as you cross over.  Not at first.

First you will want to maintain your 7.5 mg dose per day for a couple of weeks.  When you start to remove and discard what you don't drink from your solution.......it will be on a daily basis, not weekly.  That might have been what you meant?

You're going from a tablet to a compounded capsule so we should treat that as a dose change.

With your 25 mg tablet in 20 mL(millileters) of water you got 3 doses of 7.5 mg per batch.

Your new batch of 7.5 mg in 300 mL is going to be just equivalent to a daily dose for awhile.

Once the tapering begins again, that's when you remove 4 mL from the 300 mL before you drink it that day.

Hope that makes sense.

Are you sleeping okay at this point Carmie?

And are you on any other medications at present of any kind?

When you refer to severe withdrawals.........I'm just looking at your signature.........what kind of symptoms?  I'll take a read through your introduction as well.  Thank you.

Hi @manymoretodays

Thanks for dropping by,

Sorry I confused you.

Yes, I was going to hold the compounded formula at 7.5mg for a few weeks when I cross over from tablet to capsule. Thanks again.

Sorry, I think I wrote down that I take 4ml out the first week once a week, what I meant to say was that I take out the same amount out every day for the week. I shouldn’t write when I have severe brain fog😀. I was just contrasting it to what I was going to do originally n that was to lower it every single day instead instead of once a week.

Does that make sense now?  Originally I was going to take a little extra out on a daily basis but I read Alto’s blog on microtapering n she said to change the dose once a week n not daily.

Thanks again for your help. I’m looking forward to doing some tapering again as I haven’t tapered for months n I want to get some forward momentum. It’s going to take me at least ten years with the brassmonkey slide.

Hope you’re having a happy day, sending u hugs🤗🤗

Hi again @manymoretodays

I forgot to answer some of your questions. Yes, I’m sleeping, the seroquel puts me to sleep, though I know I will eventually get rebound insomnia because when I didn’t take it one night many years ago I didn’t sleep at all.

When withdrawals were severe it was the akathisia was the most horrific symptom.

No, I’m not on any other medications.

Thank you for your concern💚💚

Thanks Carmie,

I don't get so much brain fog anymore I just seem to have a bit of backwards/upside down thinking sometimes.  So if I reverse it all......then it all works out somehow.  B)  Sometimes I have to reverse it and then turn it upside down after reversing it as well.  Perfectly sound.........I think it's a bit like what they would call a "learning disability" and I'm not totally sure that I didn't have a bit of this pre-drugs, way back.  Never severe though.......I mean I really got along quite well until......well, enough about me.

That's what I thought as far as your dosing plans going forward go.  I appreciate your clarification.

You may or you may not run into sleep problems.  You've done really well tapering and my hope is that it will pay off.  I've managed to get down to just 1 mg of melatonin, and sleep is generally not an issue anymore.  Chamomile tea with a touch of lavender works great for me too.

Yes......the internal agitation, or akathisia spectrum stuff is one of the worst symptoms for most of us.  Coping skills and more coping skills and often just using the pause button on myself helps a lot.  I don't really have akathisia, of note, if at all, or symptoms in that spectrum anymore.

Are your symptoms gone now as well......the akathisia spectrum stuff?

If you do the slide and listen well to your body.........you might be off sooner than the chart shows.  And wow.......so what if you wind up maintaining on a mini mini Seroquel dose for awhile.  I think that probably, even now.........you are much less prone to any of the metabolic stuff that can occur with drugs in that class.

Okay.  Love, peace, healing, and growth,

mmt

That’s wonderful you don’t get much brain fog. My brain fog isn’t from withdrawals, it’s from CFS. I’ve had it for about 23 years. It’s always there, everything seems surreal. Some days it’s so bad I can’t read anything. It’s been part of my life for so long, it’s my norm.

I still find lots of things I can do despite having no concentration whatsoever some days. I’ve got lots of things to do that take hardly any brain power like crocheting.

I’m so glad to hear that you are sleeping well. If I do end up with rebound insomnia eventually I won’t be taking melatonin as I remember reading on here that it made someone’s akathisia a lot worse. I definitely don’t want that to happen. Yikes!

I don’t have akathisia at the moment as I’m in a window n if I taper slow enough hopefully it won’t be too bad. One can just take a day at a time. Nothing is linear in this process.

Thank you so very much for your encouragement n help💚

Hope everyone is coping as best they can. I got a message saying my compounded tablets are ready to be picked up so I will get them some time this week when I have the energy. I will be getting six months worth of 7.5mg n will taper that amount down by water titration as I’ve been doing with the tablets too.

My trusty mortar and pestle will no longer be needed. I hope it doesn’t feel upset😀. Actually I have two of them, a big one that I use at home n that’s in the kitchen n a mini one that I take with me when I’m staying elsewhere. They have done their job very well. The miniature one came in so handy to carry around as it hardly weighs anything. My big one is heavy.

Anyway, I won’t be doing anymore grinding. From now on I’ll just have to open a capsule. One less thing to do.

I’ve been under a lot of stress unrelated to health n have shed many a tear but onward n upward. I’m fortunate that I’ve been blessed with many friends though, so that certainly helps. Poured out my heart to a couple of them through tears eyes yesterday. Feel like crying again today but I can’t, Im just numb.

Been happy to interact with different ones on here today. I can’t always do that as my brainfog from the CFS gets so bad at times that I can’t read. I always have brainfog but it’s bearable today. I’ve lived in a surreal brainfog world for 23 years.

I managed to do a bit of crocheting today n I watched some more of my favourite show, The Gilmore Girls. I have watched it a million times. No matter what else I watch I always end up watching The Gilmore Girls again inbetween other things. I also bought some signs that I want to paint, more wool and some curtains. I put the curtains up, but they’re too long so I’ll have to sew them over when I have the concentration.

The signs are for my “happy wall” in the bedroom. I put things on my wall that make me smile, so when I wake up in the morning I’m in a happy atmosphere no matter how bad I’m feeling. I should put some of the diamond paintings I did up on the wall too, I have to put them in frames first though. Finished one with animals on it while I was on holiday.

Diamond paintings are a really good distraction. You just stick these little bead things on. Different colours go onto different numbers on the picture. It really is a good distraction n if you’re not an arty person it’s something that’s not hard to do. They are really cheap on eBay. I think everyone has creativity in themselves though, it’s just a matter of finding something you like to do.

One of my next painting projects is to learn how to paint waves. I’ve been watching YouTube videos.

Well, it’s evening now, wondering whether to watch Netflix or read or do some crosswords while I have a little brain power. But before I decide I better take the washing out of the machine. Such fun! I’m not really in a watching anything mood. I’ve got millions of things I like doing, too many choices😀

Take care everyone, this withdrawal journey certainly is no fun💚

Hi everyone, I’m very sad today,

I’m struggling with a lot of stress which is also affecting my chronic fatigue syndrome. I’m a very positive person by nature but at the moment I have great pain of heart. I’m still in a window but will start tapering again soon.

There are positive things I can do to help myself even if I can’t change the situation. I’ve always been a solution oriented person so here’s to continue coping with life’s stresses n pain.

I can’t cope with reading any more of people’s sad stories on here today, am in tears.

Hope everyone is coping as best they can💚💚💚

Carmie  I am sorry you are suffering so much. There are sometimes days when we suffer more than usual. Be kind and soothing to yourself, your body deserves it. Read some good positive book, light some candle, make yourself something good to eat or go to the forest. Try to see "little" positive things. Sooner or later you will feel again better.

Take care.

I hope you feel better soon, Carmie.

-1/06 - 3/07 Cymbalta. Fast taper; withdrawal symptoms after 4 mos (didn't realize was WD)

-10/07: 100 mg Zoloft; 1 mg Klonopin - tapered off Klonopin
-Tried several times to slowly taper Zoloft by 10%, then 5% every 4-6 weeks; could never get below approx. 40 mg - spring 2012 experienced major WD symptoms due to stress; tried to updose but no relief, back on Klonopin 1 mg.
-Switched over 5-6 mos from Zoloft to Citalopram. Finished Zoloft 1/13; Citalopram 35 mg and 1 mg Klonopin.
-8/13: 27 mg Citalopram; 1 mg Klonopin

-11/14: 12.6 Citalopram - began to have bad withdrawal symptoms; out of desperation increased to 1.25 mg Klonopin at the beginning of December.  12/13/14 16 mg Citalopram - going to stay here to try to stabilize; stabilized on 16 mg Citalopram after 4-5 months

-7/15 - 3/16: reduced to 15 mg; ~ 2 months later w/d hit hard (probably r/t stress); 6/16 updosed to 20 mg Citalopram and trying to stabilize. Updosed to 1.5 Klonopin as well. Stabilized on 20 mg Citalopram after 4-5 months

8/17-9/17: feeling withdrawal symptoms at 20 mg Citalopram (due to stress) - slowly increased to 25 mg. No change in symptoms after 6 months (? tolerance ?)  - decided to start citalopram taper February 2018 (still on Klonopin 1.5 mg).

Thank u everyone who connected with me on my post. Much appreciated. I really do appreciate everyone who has been kind enough to interact with me here. We are all going through the same pain of withdrawals n other things in our lives can make withdrawals even harder.

The journey of going through withdrawals is the hardest one we will ever face, that being said, we will all get there in the end, one day at a time, one minute at a time.

Thanks again to everyone’s kindness on here, my love goes out to all of you.

I will connect again with you soon on your threads, but at the moment just trying to keep my head above water. I can’t cope today with reading anyone’s sad stories as I’m such an empath n I really feel everyone’s pain deeply.

Sending much love love to each n every one of you💚💚💚💚😘

Thank u Gridley,

Yes, stress certainly makes everything worse. Withdrawals are more severe when under stress unrelated to withdrawals.

I have ongoing stress unrelated to withdrawals but I try n cope the best I can.

I have a lot of strategies I can incorporate in my life, but I’m a work in progress n it’s one day at a time.

Thank u so much for your thoughts n kindness 💚💚

Thank you Rosetta,

We certainly don’t need extra stress. Like you, a lot of it has to do with narcissistic abuse, but at the moment I don’t feel like sharing it on SA. I’ve always been a caring person and I never knew why people could abuse other people. It hurts n I know you find it hard to forgive the abuse.

I forgive people all the time, but it doesn’t mean I forget.

I’m still trying to deal with the pain. FasterEft has helped me so much, I really need to practice it in a daily basis. I have been so slack with it but when I’ve done it the results have been incredible. I must incorporate it in my life again soon.

Thank u Rosetta for being such an inspiration on here. As I mentioned before, you were one of the first people that welcomed me to SA n I will never forget that. You have such a beautiful soul.

My heart goes out to you, n especially to the problems you have with hoarding. When I read what you went through in your childhood it broke my heart. I can see though why you feel stuck.

Im the opposite, I hate having a lot of stuff, I’m continually decluttering. I’m a bit of a minimalist, Im always giving things away. I hate owning lots of stuff n shopping is not one of my loves. I don’t enjoy shopping at all. I only go shopping when I really need something, and then it’s a chore.

Im happiest in nature, I love being anywhere near water.

Sending you hugs Rosetta n when I learn more about how to make peace with narcissistic abuse I’ll let u kniw💚

Thank you too for the hugs, the stress is not due to withdrawals, but I hope I can learn to deal with it so when withdrawals are severe it won’t make them worse,

Hi Martina,

Thank you for your kind words. Yes, I always try n look at the positive in ea h day. I always look at things I can be grateful for.

I don’t have a forest close by as I live in the city but as soon as I can I will be going back to the beach n nature. I loooove nature so much. I hate living in the city, I’d love to live out in the country or near the beach. There is nothing better than enjoying creation.

Hopefully I’ll get down to the Coast to visit my sister again soon n spend time at the beach n nature.

I try n look for parks in the city too, Im a nature girl.

I got my compounded formula of 7.5mg yesterday  n I put it in 300mg of water, I will do this for at least two weeks n then I’ll taper down by 4ml as you recommended. Thank u so much for your advice, your kindness is appreciated.

I probably won’t be using my small mortar n pestle  that I carried around anymore. I have to carry around my measuring cylinder n jar to shake my concoction from now on if I go on holiday. My large mortar n pestle at home will be used for rushing herbs n spices, but no more tablets.

Do I go down by 4ml every week for the month? Still too braindead to figure out the math.

Thanks again💚😘

Hi Carmie,

I just wanted to say thank you for offering your support and for your kind words.

I just read through your thread and you have done extremely well to get from 300mg to 7.5mg.

Well done. Keep going the way you have and you will get there in the end.

Take care,  Hopefull. :)💙

Hi Hopefull,

Thank you for reading my thread,

I somehow managed to get from 300mg to 7.5mg. By, the looks of it it will still take me another ten yeRs to get off this doing the brassmonkey slide. I need to go slowly because if I don’t the akathisia gets unbearable.

This journey is is definitely hard. One day at a time, one day apt a time💚💚

Hi Lillabella,

Thank you so much for your kind words,

I hope you’re doing okay. I know you’ve been in quite a bit of panic. Just know that people on here will help you get through these hard times. They can’t take away your pain, but it’s good to know that other people understaywhat you’re going through.

I can’t read people’s sad stories at the moment as I’m going through such headache, but as soon as I can I’ll read your thread again.

Hang in there, we can do this🤗💚🤗🤗

Been on antipsychotics, benzos, ADs and opiates for chronic pain.

Was cold turkeyed and put on and off lots of things. Was suicidal n ended up in a psych ward due to akathisia from WDs. When released I still had severe akathisia n was suicidal. Back to the ward and more meds. Tapered off one and have been trying to taper off Seroquel since. Many years of tapering.

Tapered from 300mg of Seroquel to 7.5mg./2019:➡️ March 10=7.25mg ✔️
April 17=7.0✔️ June 5th=6.75✔️ July 14th=6.50✔️Aug 28=6.25✔️

Oct 10=6.20 ✔️ Oct21=6.0✔️Dec16=5.80 ✔️
 2020➡️Jan 21=5.60✔️April 2=5.40✔️May 29=5.20✔️Aug14= 5.0 ✔️Sep 29=4.80✔️
 2021➡️ Jan 31=4.60 mg✔️April 24=4.40mg✔️Jul17=4.30mg ✔️Aug 28=4.20✔️ Oct 11=4.15✔️Nov 1=4.10✔️ Nov 21= 4.05✔️

I AM NOT A MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL. These are my own views based on what I’ve experienced myself.
