Hi

i wanted to ask if anyone in here experienced extreme fatigue ? All day I feel so tired and the only activity I can manage is an hour walk but even through walking I feel very weak.. the mornings are the worst when I wake up after 10 hrs sleep I have no energy my body just lies in bed but have absolutely no energy did anyone experienced something similar ?

Thank you in advance :)

I have been on Prozac 20mg for a year and half from June 2013 and then on Paxil 10mg and 20mg for about a year with breaks as I never knew it was withdrawals so every time something was starting to going on with me I was going back on it.

The last stop date was in March 2017 and currently being off anything.

Hi Migotka and welcome to SA,

We need to know about your drug history before we can assess your situation and make any suggestions.

We ask all members to create a drug signature.  Please update it whenever you make a change.  Please keep it nice and simple.  We only need details for the last 2 years.  Date, drug and dose only, no symptoms or diagnoses.  The other years can just be an overview.

This is the preferred format which is helpful for the mods.  Thank you.

A request: Would you summarize your history in a signature - ALL drugs, doses, dates, and discontinuations & reinstatements, in the last 2 years particularly?

  • Please leave out symptoms and diagnoses.
  • list is easier to understand than one or multiple paragraphs.

This is your own Intro topic where you can ask questions and journal your progress.  We suggest that members visit each others Intro topics so that can support and encourage each other.

I am in the 3rd month of weaning off Abilify. I am also experiencing extreme fatigue. Sleep at least 10 hrs a night but can’t get out of bed in the morning. From what I have been reading it seems to be a part of the weaning process.

Hi,

i have been prescribed fluoxetine 10 or 20 mg I don't remember after I have born my daughter and stayed in it for over a year until I went to the doctor and he asked me if I had any side affects and after I said about sweating he put me on paroxetine 20mg I stayed on it for a year with breaks. I tried to come of it three time and every time I did I had something like mania I have felt very strong positive feeling after a couple of months when they faded and something strange started to happen I went back on paroxetine.

The last fourth time I thought I wanted to see what will happen next as I couldn't stay on the drag any more I felt that something wasn't right with me and I couldn't stand it anymore.  From that time I have been off any medicines for over 12 months.

I have experience social phobia, vision problems seeing a dot when I tried to watch a movie, depression, raicing thoughts, hallucinations, Neuro emotions, I have seen everything "ugly", all the memories coming back in pictures like I was watching a movie of my life, confusion, brainfog, fatigue, margarines  and depersonalisation. Everyone of this symptoms has lasted for about 2 months and then another one was starting and from time to time in between this symptoms the positive strong feeling were coming back.

In Dec  I fell pregnant and had an abortion which after I have lost all the energy and spent 2 months in bed. Before the pregnancy I was able to go to work full time with all the symptoms but now I am home bound. I was thinking if I had lost all energy after abortion  or it's just me getting every month worst..

Hey Migotka,

What you're going through sounds really difficult. I'm not a moderator, but hopefully one will be by soon to help you with the med question. You'll get through this.

Marmot

2004: Clonazepam and Celexa. 2005 - 2006: Effexor, then increased to high dose, then switched to Valproate and Seroquel. 2007: Wellbutrin + Strattera + Celexa. 2007 - 2008: Wellbutrin + Adderall + Paxil. 2008 - 2012: Wellbutrin + occasional SSRIs when I had worsened "depression", which happened around 4 times, usually after CT of WB. 2012 - 2014: WB + Sertraline, then WB + Pristiq (awful W/D) then WB + rTMS, then ketamine. 2014 - 2016: Wellbutrin 200 mg + Abilify 4 mg + Adderall 20-40 mg + Cipralex 20 mg. Oct 2016: "Tapered" Cipralex, felt outrageously anxious, irritable. Dec 2016: "Tapered" Adderall, then felt depressed, hopeless, fatigued.  Feb 6 2017: reinstated 20 mg Adderall. Mar 2017: switched to Vyvanse, upped to 30 mg. May - Aug 2017: "Tapered" Vyvanse + Abilify to zero. Oct 25, 2017: Wellbutrin from 200 to 100 mg. Sep 10, 2018:  Wellbutrin from 90 to 60 mg. Oct 29, 2018: WB from 60 to 50 mg. Dec 19, 2018: WB from 50 to 45 mg. Apr 15, 2019: WB 41 mg. May 14, 2019: WB 37 mg. Jun 8, 2019: WB 33 mg. Jul 22: WB 30 mg, then down by around 10% per month. Aug 2020: 0

Hi Migotka,

You  suffered a huge hormonal shift/general life disruption back in December which may contribute to the fatigue and W/D symptoms to date.

Good that you are walking everyday.  How is your sleep?  Have you had a general physical recently?   That may be a good idea as well as getting some blood work/lab work done to check for anemia, iron, or vitamin deficiencies.

It does sound very difficult right now........many more hugs.

Hi Migotka,

You might consider looking at some of Claire Weekes methods to help in recovery of the sensitized nervous system.  Many of our members have benefited from her books or audios that are available.  I'm just starting to take a look/listen/read myself.  I've been off the bulk of my many medications over many years yet am always quite happy to try some new approaches to keeping myself in the middle road of things, so to speak.......and  I'm intrigued after reading more of the thread I'll link you to. ( It looks like I linked you to page 2 so if you go to that link.......go on back and start on page 1........with the first post).

Hello Migotka and welcome.

The "mornings are the worst" is really common here.

This thread might be useful to you:

Even though it talks about waking with anxiety/panic, it's an overall worthwhile read to understand how daily rhythms might affect withdrawal.

I usually find mornings harder, and things usually improve in the afternoon into the evening, and many others here find that symptoms are hardest in the a.m.

Hope and healing to you!

2021: Began conservative, proper, CNS-respecting taper of Zoloft, led by the only expert on me -- me. Making own liquid. 5-10% plus holds.

2022: Holding on Zoloft for now. Current dose 47 mg. Hanging in, hanging on. Severe protracted PAWS, windows and waves. While I may not be doing "a lot" by outside standards, things are graaaaadually getting better

Hi

i wanted to ask if anyone while being on paroxetine has experienced problems with colours - I mean while I was on it I stoped seeing blond as blond and seen my hair as "yellow".

And other problems associated with dopamine I stopped going out or seeing clothes as nice which I use to love clothes and I started to see them as peace of material like there was nothing nice in them.. I also got to the point that when I seen people being excited about things or happy about something or any kind of emotions were strange for me..

i also wanted to ask to ask if anyone has experienced problems with colours or music after stopping the medication ?

I have been on Prozac 20mg for a year and half from June 2013 and then on Paxil 10mg and 20mg for about a year with breaks as I never knew it was withdrawals so every time something was starting to going on with me I was going back on it.

Hi Migotka,  @Migotka

I just googled survivingantidepressants.org perceptual changes and found some similar experiences to yours.  They weren't directly related to paroxetine though.

I think there is a commonality to these types of changes while on SSRI's....... and in W/D as well.  I'm not certain it can all be explained by dopamine........I mean, maybe you have found some theory that directly relates it to dopamine?

I've had similar changes in perceptions off and on medications.  Since being off all medications for some time now, most of these have resolved.  I just term this stuff as kind of weird.......I haven't really considered them to cause/or be a big problem in my life anymore.  I suppose at one time my changing perceptions did feel difficult though.  Possibly very much so.  Once I realized I wasn't alone with them anymore(I related to others with similar experiences), and understood a bit more.......education and empowerment.......well, that helped a lot too.

You might be interested in some of the preexisting topics that we have on DP/DR.......I found one that's going and will move your comment, and mine there now.

Hi

thanks for your answer 😊

I mean i was reading that dopamine is something to do with emotions.. I just have a feeling that when I was on the medication I have stopped socialising with friends, stop experiencing emotions seeing colours or having interest in anything apart from work..

but what I experienced today really scared me and am thinking about reinstaining medication and I would like some advice..

It started last night  I felt very thirsty and this morning I started to be sick and I couldn't smoke  which is normally first thing I do after I wake up. It felt like I wasn't producing any saliva in my mouth I had to keep drinking water glass after glass and then I started too see colours very bright but too that level that I had to close my eyes coz they were so glaring and then I experienced a very very intense fear and anger to a point that I wanted to hurt someone  it felt like I was loosing the sense of reality and in my thoughts I thought that it was like a psychosis and I was praying not to do this things. I was also feeling like my blood in my nose and in my head. I really don't know what to do with myself as I haven't experienced anything that bad before in my life

I have been on Prozac 20mg for a year and half from June 2013 and then on Paxil 10mg and 20mg for about a year with breaks as I never knew it was withdrawals so every time something was starting to going on with me I was going back on it.

Hi Migotka,

I moved the above back to your introduction thread here.    How are you doing now?

And what do you have going as far as ground support now?  People and support systems?  You mention possibly being or feeling isolated in your post today.  I encourage you to reach out to someone locally, that might be able to help provide comfort and help now.

Hi

thanks for your answer 😊

I didnt take take any medications since 18 months.. I thought I was getting better I started to feel more energy and started to seeing friends even that I didn't feel the way I did before .

I never had any problems with psychotics or anything like this in the past just a severe stress when I born a baby but I was totally normal and all this things started to happen every time I tried to stop medication..

i was thinking about reinstating a little amounts of fluoxetine coz I got very scared yesterday when it happend..

thank you you for the links I will read through them tonight 😊 I started a CBT but I doesn't seems like it helps..

I have been on Prozac 20mg for a year and half from June 2013 and then on Paxil 10mg and 20mg for about a year with breaks as I never knew it was withdrawals so every time something was starting to going on with me I was going back on it.

Migotka, I received your PM but want to answer here in your thread so you have all of your information in one place.

For information on mania and mania-type symptoms during withdrawal, please see:

Bipolar, Mood Swings, Mania, Hypomania, Depression

Akathisia vs restlessness, anxiety, agitation

Some non-drug coping skills that can help are things that calm the nervous system. Please note that if your mania-type symptoms are severe, these may not be as affective, but it's important to try to calm the nervous system as much as you can until the intensity subsides.

Easing your way into meditation for a stressed-out nervous system

Mindfulness and Acceptance

Good links for anxiety/worry

I believe you are off all drugs, is this correct?

Hello :)

Thank u for the links Steph  and trying to help  :) I have read them all..

i do practice meditation and try to accept what is happening to me but sometimes is very hard..,

Yes, i am off all drugs for the last two year and one month.

I have been on Prozac 20mg for a year and half from June 2013 and then on Paxil 10mg and 20mg for about a year with breaks as I never knew it was withdrawals so every time something was starting to going on with me I was going back on it.

The last stop date was in March 2017 and currently being off anything.

Migotka, what are you getting at? Obviously you have thoughts and feelings, you've just expressed them.

When i get up i feel normal for couple of hours until like about 10am and then it starts i get the only thought „i cant think”  in my head and that only thought comes back every few minutes and i feel a big pressure in my head and no feelings.

It lasts untill evening and i feel normal again and i can express my feeling and thoughts are back.

It started to happen about a week ago..

i thought it would go away but it didnt and it started to worry me and am curious if anyone had something like this.

@Migotka it sounds like you are having The Windows and Waves Pattern of Stabilization

Do you do anything in the morning that might trigger foggy brain? Do you have breakfast? Do you eat a lot of sugar?

Many people find fish oil and magnesium supplements helpful, see

You might try a little bit of one at a time to see how it affects you.

Thank u very much Altostrata for the links 😘

everytime a new symptom comes I can’t come down my self it really helped when you said that it’s a foggy brain. 😘

it’s a little bit better the thoughts do come back every few hours :)

I cut all sugar and I changed to vegan diet I eat breakfast but I really watch for anything that would trigger any symptoms.

I was allergic to all vitamins after stopping antidepressants but I will try again magnesium maybe it changed now..

Since you're not taking vitamins, please make sure you're getting enough B12 in your diet. This can be much harder with a vegan diet. It's important because vitamin B12 deficiency can cause many of the same symptoms as withdrawal.
