Moderator Frogie Posted January 18, 2022 Moderator Share Posted January 18, 2022 @Chlo If you aren't comfortable with starting, then don't. Your body will tell you when you are ready, hold a little while longer and see how you feel. There is no book written as to how to taper. It goes just on how you feel, PREVIOUS medications and discontinuations: Have been on medications since 1996. Valium, Gabapentin, Lamictal, Prilosec and Zantac from 2000 to 2015 with a fast taper by a psychiatrist. Liquid Lexapro Nov, 2016 to 31-March, 2019 Lexapro free!!! (total Lexapro taper was 4 years-started with pill form) ---CURRENT MEDICATIONS:Supplements:Milk Thistle, Metamucil, Magnesium Citrate, Vitamin D3, Levothyroxine 25mcg, Vitamin C, Krill oil. Xanax 1mg 3x day June, 2000 to 19-September, 2020 Went from .150 grams (average weight of 1 Xanax) 3x day to .003 grams 3x day. April 1, 2021 went back on 1mg a day. Started tapering May 19, 2023. July 28, 2023-approximately .87mg. Dr. fast tapered me at the end and realized he messed up. Prescribe it again and I am doing "slower than a turtle" taper. 19-September, 2020 Xanax free!!! Administrator Altostrata Posted January 18, 2022 Administrator Share Posted January 18, 2022 @Chlo as I explained many times, it appears your lack of stability is due to adverse reaction to Lexapro, NOT withdrawal. If you reduce Lexapro, it's likely those uncomfortable symptoms will reduce or go away. You can wait to reduce Lexapro until you feel confident about it, but you will need to cope with adverse effects in the meantime, we can't do anything about them. This is not medical advice. Chlo
Yes ma'am, I will get that posted by morning. Question: Do you think the cause of my severe dizziness and chills is from the decreased taper? This morning was my first taper. Maybe because I went from Lexapro pill form to Escitalopram liquid? Administrator Altostrata Posted January 19, 2022 Administrator Share Posted January 19, 2022 Was this unusual dizziness? Yes, it could be the switch to liquid. This should settle in a few days. Ordinarily, we advise people to start by taking part of the dose in tablet form and part in liquid form. This is not medical advice. Chlo
This was a completely new dizziness. Never had it before. Along with a strong panic attack. So continue with the full dose of 4.75ml in liquid? Also...would it be ok if I take my Mirtazapine at 11:30 tonight instead of 10:30? I'd like to watch a movie that starts at 9:30 and lasts 2 hours. I don't want to fall asleep watching it. @Altostrata @Frogie Chlo❤ •Celexa 40mg 1999-2021•COVID August 2021•Celexa stopped working•Zoloft 100mg Sept21'-Oct21'•Zoloft did not work •Lexapro 10mg Oct21'-Nov21' •Lexapro did not work •Lexapro 5mg Nov21'-1/17/22 switched to Lexapro liquid form 5mg 1/18/22•4.75mg 1/19•4.5mg 1/25•4.25mg 2/1•4.0mg 2/8 •3.75mg 3/28•3.5mg 5/23 •3.25mg 5/30•3.0mg 6/19 •2.75mg 6/26•2.50mg 7/10•2.45mg 7/18•2.40mg 7/25•2.35mg 8/1•2.33mg 8/26•2.27mg 9/15•2.21mg 9/23•2.16mg 9/30•2.10mg 10/14•2.04mg 10/24•1.99mg 11/18•1.95mg 1/02/23•1.90mg 1/09•1.80mg 1/27•1.75mg 2/21•1.70mg 3/6•1.65mg3/14•1.60mg 4/07•1.52mg 4/30•1.48mg 5/07•1.40mg 6/08•1.36mg 6/17•1.32mg 6/27•1.28mg 7/17•1.20mg 8/18•1.15mg 9/13•1.12mg 10/15•1.06mg 1/20/24•1.02mg 2/16•1mg 2/27•.98mg 3/02•.96mg3/20•D3•C• •Magnesium Glycinate Zinc•Omega3•Probiotic •Mirtazapine 15mg I don't know much, but 3 things I do. Moderator Frogie Posted January 19, 2022 Moderator Share Posted January 19, 2022 @Mario77 You can't take your meds anytime you want because you want to watch a movie. It takes your body time to regulate it every time you make a change. Can you record the movie and watch it earlier tomorrow? I would just hate for you to go up and down on times. PREVIOUS medications and discontinuations: Have been on medications since 1996. Valium, Gabapentin, Lamictal, Prilosec and Zantac from 2000 to 2015 with a fast taper by a psychiatrist. Administrator Altostrata Posted January 22, 2022 Administrator Share Posted January 22, 2022 What thoughts make you weepy? Have you discussed them with a psychotherapist or other counselor? Chlo
My weeping mostly comes from feeling depressed, worrying that I will never get better. I try hard to think positive of happy things, but even seeing my grandbabies cause me to cry. And yes I have discussed with my psychologist, we are working on it. I put positive post-it notes up everywhere with encouraging words. Since my taper of 4.75ml I have noticed that I get very dizzy. Usually around 11:00-1:00 and then again before bed. Also get the chills around the same time @ 11-1 Chlo❤ •Celexa 40mg 1999-2021•COVID August 2021•Celexa stopped working•Zoloft 100mg Sept21'-Oct21'•Zoloft did not work •Lexapro 10mg Oct21'-Nov21' •Lexapro did not work •Lexapro 5mg Nov21'-1/17/22 switched to Lexapro liquid form 5mg 1/18/22•4.75mg 1/19•4.5mg 1/25•4.25mg 2/1•4.0mg 2/8 •3.75mg 3/28•3.5mg 5/23 •3.25mg 5/30•3.0mg 6/19 •2.75mg 6/26•2.50mg 7/10•2.45mg 7/18•2.40mg 7/25•2.35mg 8/1•2.33mg 8/26•2.27mg 9/15•2.21mg 9/23•2.16mg 9/30•2.10mg 10/14•2.04mg 10/24•1.99mg 11/18•1.95mg 1/02/23•1.90mg 1/09•1.80mg 1/27•1.75mg 2/21•1.70mg 3/6•1.65mg3/14•1.60mg 4/07•1.52mg 4/30•1.48mg 5/07•1.40mg 6/08•1.36mg 6/17•1.32mg 6/27•1.28mg 7/17•1.20mg 8/18•1.15mg 9/13•1.12mg 10/15•1.06mg 1/20/24•1.02mg 2/16•1mg 2/27•.98mg 3/02•.96mg3/20•D3•C• •Magnesium Glycinate Zinc•Omega3•Probiotic •Mirtazapine 15mg I don't know much, but 3 things I do.
