How much and at what rate would you titrate up? Magnesium bisglycinate is the best tolerated type of magnesium. Some still have difficulty with it. I am very sensitive but was fine with it. I take 200 mg daily in the morning. I honestly don't know if it helps me but it is an essential mineral that aids the nerves. The daily intake should be 360 mg daily so 200 mg is conservative. You could try 50 mg for a week and if that is fine try 100 mg for a week and so on. You also can have your magnesium levels checked through routine blood work. Ninabird
@Bailey Hello! I wanted to drop in and see how you are doing. You have been on my mind. All is going ok here. Enjoying a nice wave at the moment. I am afraid mine was most likely brought on by binging on chocolate. Was it worth it? Let me get back to you on that one. My puppy is getting big and is 90% potty trained. Thank goodness. My Rottweiler, Bella is doing well. She is wearing a cone right now because she has a hot spot on her tushy. My puppy lovingly helps her escape from the cone several times a day. 🥸 They are partners in crime. lol Well, I should get back to work. On days when I feel awful, I still try to get in as much work as I can. It isn't easy but I have to earn a living. Sending you prayers and big hugs from California. Bailey
1 minute ago, Ninabird said: @Bailey Hello! Hi @Ninabird Thank you for dropping in. I'm having a really tough akathisia day. Just trying to hang on and hope tomorrow is better. Or even this afternoon or tonight I hope things quiet. I bet your puppy is oh-so-cute. I hope work goes well and that you get a window very very soon. Big hug from Virginia ❤️ 1996 Effexor XR 1996-2012 Prozac and Klonipin 2012: physician took me off Prozac rapidly. Severe (unrecognized) withdrawal. Dec. 8, 2023 - stopped progesterone pill (started having awful reactions); inconsistent with estrogen and testosterone combined cream in confusion of severe withdrawal symptoms. Dec. 14, 2023: Estrogen/testosterone cream: Back on about 1/4 amount I was taking previously of estrogen and testosterone cream (1.5 pumps out of 4 -- full amount seemed to ignite some kind of fire in my hyper sensitive state); did not resume progesterone (b/c of bad reactions after taking in WD) December 2022: Paxil 40 to 30mg (went OK); May 2023: Paxil 30 to 20 mg (went OK); Oct. 14, 2023: Paxil 15mg; Oct. 21, 2023: Paxil 10mg Nov. 9, 2023: tried reinstating to 20mg but reacted very badly (kindling?) November 18, 2023: 7.5ml (15mg equivalent) *switch to manufacturer's liquid, Novatium* Conventional psych doc switched me to 7.5ml liquid b/c tiny pills were splitting unevenly - further destabilization by both switching to liquid and changing dose at same time. November 2023 - present: *severe* withdrawal symptoms, akathisia Dec. 6 - manufacturer change on alprazolam er (further destabilization?). Normal mfr very difficult to find now. Jan 6 2024 - stopped coffee and all forms of caffeine. Eliminated dairy, processed foods, sugar. Gluten intolerant so no gluten. Low fodmap diet for gut issues, daily leafy greens, a lot of protein to avoid blood sugar spikes after meals and also for akathisia. Feb 27 2024 - doc had me stop hormone cream. FDA-required formulation had changed and she was worried about my transition to something new. She also said that the estrogen/testosterone hormones are activating. I had already dropped a good bit in dose early in withdrawal (Dec 14 2023 above) b/c it got lost in the chaos of early withdrawal. March 2024 - doctor having me try propranolol for akathisia. First as needed starting around Mar 7 and then daily starting around Mar 23. (aka very bad in morning especially) Apr 2 2024 - stopped propranolol. Think it was interefering with sleep and causing other side effects. May keep on as prn. Link to comment

My puppy is oh-so-naughty.🤪 I have fun watching his puppy love for life and his curiosity over the world around him. Yesterday wasn't easy at all but I am so thankful that I am able to put on a poker face for work and do what I need to. Last night I mowed my front and back yard. I love doing yard work and being outside. I think I donated a few drops of blood to the neighborhood mosquitos. I loathe mosquitos because they seem to find me the second I step outside after dusk. lol I should go now. Dahlia50
@Bailey @Boges11 Yes, in the morning but also during the day/afternoon. Also strong WD waves. In the evenings usually less intense. I was tapered too fast by doctors. Really had problems when tapered with dose changes. But it was when I went from 12.5mg to zero that it broke loose on another level. I had already dropped a good bit in dose early in withdrawal (Dec 14 2023 above) b/c it got lost in the chaos of early withdrawal. March 2024 - doctor having me try propranolol for akathisia. Schmeg82
On 3/30/2024 at 11:40 AM, LostInCanada said: @Bailey you will heal. It will take time because of the various factors described. I posted the following on another member's intro. It is good to understand how paroxetine affects the body. It is an anticholinergic drug. Anticholinergic medications (shorthand: "anticholinergics") are drugs that block and inhibit the activity of the neurotransmitter acetylcholine (ACh) at both central and peripheral nervous system synapses. Anticholinergic drugs inhibit the parasympathetic nervous system by blocking the action of ACh so that it is unable to bind to receptor sites. They interact with muscarinic cholinergic receptors in the brain, secretory glands, heart, smooth muscle, and eyes. Typical symptoms of anticholinergic medications include dry mouth, constipation, urinary retention, bowel obstruction, dilated pupils, blurred vision, increased heart rate, and decreased sweating The symptoms you are dealing with are from the dosage changes etc and your body is trying to fix it. Your body is doing what it needs too despite how horrible it feels. Just avoid anything that causes more stress. Eat healthy. No caffeine or even OTC drugs especially no other drugs that are anticholinergic. That includes antihistamines, advil, etc. if possible. Don't overdo exercise, cleaning, anything. Thank you for this information that makes so much more sense now, I’m having major vision issues still after 3 months of reinstating and I’m getting discouraged that it will be permanent. I’ve been trying to exercise a little but have not been able to breathe well, and my vision issues make me dizzy and nauseous sometimes. I think I’ve been over doing it unfortunately. 2 Started tapering Paxil 20mg July/August 2023. Got to 5mg January 2024 and started to have vision issues from Withdrawal. February 2023 severe withdrawal issues started, reinstating to 10mg Tuesday March 5th. Plan on trying to stabilize at 10mg. Link to comment
