Yes, my lungs have been giving me so much trouble, it’s really scary. I hope they settle again soon. It’s a waiting game. I’m glad your husband is doing okay after his heart attack. My husband has heart failure too, on top of dementia and brain damage. I’m hoping to take him on a holiday next week, along with a support worker. It’s all paid for by the government. It’s awful what these meds do to us. I’m so sorry that you’re still struggling seven years later. Your brain will no doubt eventually heal, as our bodies really do have an amazing capacity to heal, it can just feel like forever though. I really am very sorry. I’ve still got many years of tapering to go, and no doubt a million waves to still go through too. Trying not to think about it, and just taking a day at a time. (I had been on that since hospital 10/2014) 12/2015---just holding, holding, holding, with trileptal/oxcarb at 75 mg. 1/2 tab at hs. My last psycho med ever! Tapered @ 10% every 4 weeks, sometimes 2 weeks to 2016 Dec 16, medication free!! Longer signature post here, with current supplements. Herb and alcohol free since 5/15/2016. I follow The Plant Paradox lifestyle by Dr.Gundry. This lifestyle has given me my life back and I feel better than I have ever felt in my life. It has enabled me to finally get off of this medication and truly live my life. Nutrition is the key to health!!!!! 2008 to 2019 - 20 mg Paroxetine Attempted 2 CT's around the 5-6 year mark. Were absolutely terrible and reinstated. Was never explained by the doctor the seriousness of the short half life of this drug. 2017 - Attempted a tapered discontinuation of this drug and reinstated after being unsuccessful. 2019 - Feb. 12 - After a three month taper I am off of paroxetine. The 3 months were terrible, awful withdrawal feelings. I followed the doctors guidelines for the reduction of this drug and now know it was way too fast. 2019 - Oct. 12 - 8 months off paroxetine. 75% improvement since coming off the drug. Definitely have had tons of challenges along the way. Let’s go!!!! 2021 - Feb. 12 - 24 months off paroxetine. I have minor challenges now. Valium, Gabapentin, Lamictal, Prilosec and Zantac from 2000 to 2015 with a fast taper by a psychiatrist. Liquid Lexapro Nov, 2016 to 31-March, 2019 Lexapro free!!! (total Lexapro taper was 4 years-started with pill form) ---CURRENT MEDICATIONS:Supplements:Milk Thistle, Metamucil, Magnesium Citrate, Vitamin D3, Levothyroxine 25mcg, Vitamin C, Krill oil. Xanax 1mg 3x day June, 2000 to 19-September, 2020 Went from .150 grams (average weight of 1 Xanax) 3x day to .003 grams 3x day. April 1, 2021 went back on 1mg a day. Started tapering May 19, 2023. July 28, 2023-approximately .87mg. Dr. fast tapered me at the end and realized he messed up. Prescribe it again and I am doing "slower than a turtle" taper. 19-September, 2020 Xanax free!!! mickde1 Posted March 4, 2022 Share Posted March 4, 2022 Hi there just joining in i can totally relate to your suffering God give you strength and serenity. 75 months or 6.3 years i've been trying to find that horizon and relief while writhing in mental and physical pain it's the hardest and most testing torture but somehow strive in someway in obscurity to take the next step and forever hope I've been medication free for 65 months and a half months as posted of May 30th 2021 , stopped med's December 14th 2015, history 20 years on Prozac 80mg & Moclobemide 150 mg per day, stopped Moclobemide sometime in 2012 then about a year later lowered Prozac dose to 20mg per day, then changed to Paroxetine, then change to a Mirtazapine, then change to Lexapro, then changed to Brintellix, then changed to Edronax all at 10mgs or less over a period of about year, Edronax tapered 4mg to 2mg over 10 weeks, 2 mg for 8 weeks 1 mg for 10 weeks stopped all meds completely 14 December 2015 3 months later all HELL broke loose 18 Jan 2019 reinstated Prozac .25 mg then ceased 8/8/20 Quote Link to comment
