My mother died this morning.

Barb, I'm sorry to hear the news. Though her passing has to be a relief, many memories will doubtless come to the surface. At least her suffering is over. I know she was a trial to you, but no less to herself. Finally she has peace. Big Hug to Ya, ~S

PS Glad to hear you got scripts for Trazadone and estrogen. You don't need any more withdrawal related symptoms.. eeek.

Thank you, Schuyler. I do feel an odd sense of relief, but realize alot of feelings and memories will surface for a very long time.

I know how you feel. I'm still having problems with my mother's death, and she's been gone since this past November.

History:

1995--Prozac--Quit CT by GP

1995--Effexor--Quit per my GP

1996--Amitriphene--Quit CT when changed GP

2005--Citalopram and BusPar. Prescribed when I decompensated in my GP's office. GP referred me to behavior health. Psychiatrist prescibed these drugs. Taken off citalopram in 2011 due to FDA warning. Quit Buspar during transition to viibryd.

Viibryd--2011 to present. Had a severe reaction in March 2012. Advised both GP and Psychiatrist I was trying to get off these drugs.

Meistersinger,

That's still very recent. I don't believe anyone grieves or mourns along a predetermined timeline. Im very sorry for your loss.

I wish I had answers for you :(

I am sending you my support & prayers & hugs.

Dec 2004 - Put on Zoloft after having a panic attack from the Birth Control Ortho Evra Patch (the doctors thought I was completely insane when I told them I think the Birth Control Patch is giving me anxiety/panic. Funny how they tell you NOW that Birth Control can indeed cause anxiety) Started at 25mg, increased to 50 mg and 100 mg in 2007. They made me too sleepy so decreased back to 50mg until 2009. Reduced to 25 mg in 2010.

Oct 2010 - Decided to come off Zoloft to try and have children. Didn't know anything about tapering because apparently, my doctor didn't know about it either. WDs included heart palpitations, dizziness, tinnitus etc. Decided to go back on Zoloft within 2 weeks of stopping.

January 2011 - Knowing a little more about tapering, I decided to stop taking taking Zoloft with my doctors help again. She told me to hurry and taper in 4 weeks because the tinnitus could become permanent. I thought this was too fast so I took another month to taper.

March 30, 2011 - Last Zoloft pill.

Had a little dizziness & sadness, but felt fine until Aug 2011 after a relative died.

Since then symptoms include brain shivers, migraine headaches on right side of head, warm/hot sensations on right side of head and ears, internal vibrations, tremor, muscle twitches, strange sensations in right side of head, anxiety, nervousness, sadness, disconnected, depersonalization, numbness on left side of body at times, neck pain, muscle/rib cage pains,  just don't feel like myself :(

Oh Barb, I am so very sorry. My thoughts are with you and I'm sending ((hugs)) across the miles. I wish I could do more. I'm sure you will be dealing with many different emotions as you deal with this. I know it's not the same but I lost my golden retriever suddenly in January and I had so many incredible emotions. Numbness/shock was one of the easier ones at first. I feel deeply for you.

Self-tapered off Effexor after being on for 9 years around 2001

Medication-free until 2006

In 2006 went through divorce and placed on Celexa 20 mg and p.r.n. clonazepam

Stayed on 20 mg until 2011 when began cutting in half and taking 10 mg (Didn't really notice withdrawal symptoms)

Began to plan to come off in spring/summer 2012, continuing 10 mg Jan/Feb.

Tapered to 5 mg March/April (about 1 week mild withdrawal symptoms).

Tapered to sliver of tablet, estimated 2-2.5 mg in (1-2 weeks of withdrawal symptoms progressively diminishing and then stopping)

May 18, 2012: Stopped Celexa.

July 5, 2012: Reinstated Celexa at 5 mg.

July 13, 2012: Increased Celexa to 10 mg.

August 30, 2012: Increased Celexa 15 mg.

Oh my. I thought my father was on his deathbed from messages I was receiving. Wanted my cousin to drop her life to get me cross country. He called my mother-in-law who has seen me recently. Turns out he just wanted me there for the funeral show! (He was choir director, small town church). One last chance to show that his family is "normal, no cracks". MIL told him that I look like death and am in no condition to travel across the country. She's not one to mince words ;)

Thnx, Schuyler. Racing is an ugly "sport". So many horses killed and jockeys seriously injured or killed. It's not unheard of to witness a fatal accident at races. Very traumatic for anyone, but especially kids.

I think I had a window last night. It was about 10 minutes of calm that was completely foreign to me. Then back to "i'm absolutely positive im going to die very soon because there is a lion ready to jump outa that tall skinny palm tree and eat me I just know it". No, I dont go through that thought process, just to be clear. But the perpetual state of FEAR and inability to flee is immobilizing (freeze). Those few minutes of calm were eye opening. I'm not sure I've ever felt that peace in my life, BD, DD, and definitely not After Drug. I wasnt doing anything special; I tried to retrace my steps and thoughts.

I have a tremendous new appreciation for animals of flight. I gotta hug a horse. It's amazing what they do for us that is totally against their survival instincts. Ive contemplated talking to my one holistic vet about this mess. They understand the fight-flight/endocrine system very well. My one vet invented Raindrop Therapy. Very woo-woo-ey.

Having incredibly difficult time returning home to California after being in Vegas for 1 1/2 week. Even though i spent most of time in bed, I didnt feel as isolated as at my home. Alot of crying, pleas to not make me go back, irrational, scared.

I'm glad you got a grip, but I'm sorry that you are having to go through it.

Went to see MIL after her stroke. She's doing well, but I spent most of the time in bed in RV park. Having a difficult time just sitting up. Fatigue to my core. Thinking I may have walking pneumonia. Tight chest and dry cough. I've never had respiratory issues, so just another guess.

Barb, I had not realized you were away from home either! Take care of yourself. You need to be seen by a doc. Are there any walk-in type of ERs anywhere near?

Hey Barb,

I guess none of us realized you were away from home. I'm so sorry you are sick. You really do need to see a doc! You are in my thoughts and prayers! Sending LOTS of healing energy and warm, loving hugs to you my dear friend!

I didnt mean to hide, just hesitant to advertise when im away from home even with pseudonym.

Took motorhome and stayed in park near inlaws. I saw them only a few times because I felt so awful. I feel terrible because I wanted to help brother in law who lives with them, but I ended up being another mouth to feed. After the ordeal of my father calling around trying to get me back there, my stress level was astronomical. He didnt care if I saw my mom while she was alive but pulled out all the stops to get me to the show. It was about 2-3 hours long and not one personal eulogy. Now I remember why I left that church. Sad.

I did eat better while there with so many restaurants that deliver. Very different than my norm.

It was probably good for you to get away from home, Barb. I wondered if you might be better off spending some time with your MIL, if you could get someone to take care of your horses.

Make sure you take care of yourself - if you really think you have walking pneumonia that is nothing to mess with.

My stress tolerance is ZERO. Incoming call from father sent me into shaking anxiety. I just see the number and it sends me into severe anxiety. Still cant use phone or listen to messages. This is crazy.
