NOW a great concept I first got the book no from the library... there was a long wait to get it and had to take it back without renewing ... so I went to buy it and it was on back order... a lot of waiting involved in getting that book I did learn some thing from it that I use to this day.

the "power of now" was a good read. any book that brings rushes of some sort of peace or comfort in as you digest the material seems worthwhile to me. it's the same w/ music. i'm listening to lou reeds' "transformer" record right now. so good...

I am not sure I want anybody how odd is that...

I am not sure I could stand being around a person all the time...

I am sure I could never sleep in a bed with a man after all this time as I need a lot of crap to sleep...

I just do...pillows healing pads neck pillows a thing for this one for that ... it is like a circus in my bed.

gee that is starting to sound like fun when really it is not... lol made me chuckle tho.

believe me nobody would want to know me if I don't get 3-4 hours of sleep at night... nobody I would not wish that on anyone.

peace all

WARNING THIS WILL BE LONG
Had a car accident in 85
Codeine was the pain med when I was release from hosp continuous use till 89
Given PROZAC by a specialist to help with nerve pain in my leg 89-90 not sure which year
Was not told a thing about it being a psych med thought it was a pain killer no info about psych side effects I went nuts had hallucinations. As I had a head injury and was diagnosed with a concussion in 85 I was sent to a head injury clinic in 1990 five years after the accident. I don't think they knew I had been on prozac I did not think it a big deal and never did finish the bottle of pills. I had tests of course lots of them. Was put into a pain clinic and given amitriptyline which stopped the withdrawal but had many side effects. But I could sleep something I had not done in a very long time the pain lessened. My mother got cancer in 94 they switched my meds to Zoloft to help deal with this pressure as I was her main care giver she died in 96. I stopped zoloft in 96 had withdrawal was put on paxil went nutty quit it ct put on resperidol quit it ct had withdrawal was put on Effexor... 2years later celexa was added 20mg then increased to 40mg huge personality change went wild. Did too fast taper off Celexa 05 as I felt unwell for a long time prior... quit Effexor 150mg ct 07 found ****** 8 months into withdrawal learned some things was banned from there in 08 have kept learning since. there is really not enough room here to put my history but I have a lot of opinions about a lot of things especially any of the drugs mentioned above.
One thing I would like to add here is this tidbit ALL OPIATES INCREASE SEROTONIN it is not a huge jump to being in chronic pain to being put on an ssri/snri and opiates will affect your antidepressants and your thinking.

As I do not update much I will put my quit date Nov. 17 2007 I quit Effexor cold turkey.

I think of what it was once like to lay down graceful as a cat and with as much ease... I think of that sometimes as a goal to have just to lay down and not hurt... to stretch to bend .. to swim... oh to swim.. or run.

maybe I am just old and wore out... but I love to think of what it was once like to have a painfree body to sleep really sleep and wake with sleepy eyes rested and calm...

such small small things to miss so dearly...

maybe some day...

did you listen to my song above... give it a go I think you will like it.

I think you are a kind and gentle soul btdt. There is a special place in heaven with your name on it. The care and compassion you GI e to others is truly inspirational. I am new at this do forgive me if I have posted in the wrong place. Just wanted to tell you I'm a fan.

January 2012 - Prescribed 900mg gabapentin and 30mg Norco for lower lumber spinal stenosis pain.

September 2013 - Spinal fusion surgery, 6 levels. Hospital ramped up meds 1500mg gabapentin, 100mg Norco, 80mg Oxycontin, 25mg Fentanyl patch.

January 2014 - Sever nausea daily and with back pain every 4 hours. 2 trips to ER. First endoscopy found ulcer. Treated with Sucralfate and PPI. Second endo in May found no ulcers. Doctors said it was the opiates causing the nausea. CT'd Oxycontin, Fentanyl patch.

July 2014 - Lost 48 lbs. due to not eating because of severe nausea. GP prescribed Prozac 20mg and Ativan 2mg prn. Tried for 4 days, quit. Two week followup GP said keep taking Prozac. 4 days, quit again. Ativan taken rarely prn for anxiety and appetite.

August 2014 - Went to detox. Off opiates. Still nauseous, helmet head, drugged feeling. Doctor CT'd gabapentin. Ended up in ER. Found 2 gallstones. Gabapentin reinstated at 900mg. Tried botched up and down taper to get off Gabapentin. No tapering advice from doctor. Said to just CT again.

September 2014 - Coded on table during gallbladder surgery. Developed liver biloma due to CPR by doctor. Had bile bulb inserted for 2 wks to drain.

October 2014 - Gallbladder removed. Still nauseous, 3am cortisol surging, drugged helmet head, vertigo, breathlessness, whooshing head, heart palps.

November 8th, 2014 - CT'd gabapentin suggested by family and 4 different doctors. Was told no withdrawal is associated with gabapentin. Have been in hell ever since. No windows, just one big tsunami every day with same symptoms for 4 months.

December 26, 2014 - Found SA. At least I know I'm not insane. My family thinks I'm doing this to myself. Akathesia has become unbearable.

March 10, 2015 - In absolute daily hell with no relief. Currently taking magnesium 200mg before bedtime.

btdt,

Darn if I cannot find it anywhere but you replied to someone that you would not want to take 'allicin max' (the phytochemical in garlic that is supposed to be helpful) because it 'increases testosterone'. The site you linked to is one of a jillion other 'men's health sites' touting this to increase testo and all say "studies have found", they are quoting each other without giving proper attribution.

I am on about the 5th page of google results for "testosterone + allicin" and NOT ONE OF THEM GIVES A LINK TO SAID STUDIES. Not a bleeping one. And it was probably an unofficial poorly controlled study done to sell 'supplements'. There are a LOT of such studies.

I don't think you need worry about taking it, but as always: start low and go slow.

What happened and how I arrived here: http://survivingantidepressants.org/index.php?/topic/4243-cymbaltawithdrawal5600-introduction/#entry50878

July 2016 I have decided to leave my story here at SA unfinished. I have left my contact information in my profile for anyone who wishes to talk to me. I have a posting history spanning nearly 4 years and 3000+ posts all over the site.

Thank you to all who participated in my recovery. I'll miss talking to you but know that I'll be cheering you on from the sidelines, suffering and rejoicing with you in spirit, as you go on in your journey.

I had a massage it was a xmass gift ... I thought oh goodie I will have some time to relax and take a break.  Went in with a good attitude came out in pain and disoriented.  When she worked on my one shoulder my boob hurt the other hurt the shoulder the neck hurt my flank and brought all the pain that keeps me awake right back ... foot and leg pain... oh gad... then I had to get home. Still on a bus and did not have the right change... I had planned on staying downtown a bit and did not worry about change as I was good when I left home.

As luck would have a natural supplement place was close by so I went in to look for the acill max... is that the name ... he did not know what I was talking about.. but it could have been me... took me three trips around the outside of the place to find the door... I have been there many times before... but could not see the door this trip. He tried to sell me something with garlic for heart and veins blood vessles... it said not to take if you had a stomach issue since my gastro bleed I am careful of such things... I could not think right and just left...

I thought maybe my blood sugar was low so stopped for a couple of eggs at a busy place... got home eventually this foot and side pain remains and I am not happy about it... I have to lay down all the time to keep it from hurting in my side... crap.

I have codeine yes I do.. and I take it to sleep or just live...some times.

I am feeling pissy and whiny and think I should go do something decent with myself.. just can't think of anything...

maybe I will listen to James :) can't hurt.

sorry for the downer post but it is what it is...today has sucked. maybe tomorrow will be better... lets hope...

I usually sleep about 4 hours on a good day ... but if I take codeine I sleep longer maybe 5 ...other times without it I am up every hour or 2 but I go back and try until I give in and get up... today I had a nap I no longer care if I sleep in the day when I feel like crap sleep is a great escape. I will take it I have been present for more than enough suffering in my life.. to hell with it... I will sleep if I can.

peace all

Im sorry your massage went to crap. :( it's called Allicin Max lol and you can order it off of Amazon. :)

Im sorry your day went so poopy. I was leaving my house today and saw a Siberian husky roaming too close to the road, so I ended up chasing it through my apartment complex for probably 30 minutes with a leash and treats, then had to get her in the car and take her to the shelter :( but, I didn't want her to get hit, and no one was looking for her.

Anyways, I don't know why I just told you all of that, I'm rambling. Lol

I hope you sleep well.

I have avoided massage because I had one in early WD, and it gave me DR from hell!!! I think, or maybe it was just WD. I don't know. I went to the chiropractor for a while and I was a total nut during that time, shouldn't have been in public. Lol

Spring of 1998 place on birth control pills for irregular bleeding, high testosterone and one ovarian cyst, stayed on until April 2004, told to take hormone holiday, conceived first son 4 months later-VERY BIG SUPRISE, was told wouldn't be able to have childern or would need reproductive doctor to help. Got pregnant again 2006 with second son easily, then was on/off birthcontrol again until October 2011, concieved 3rd son in October 2011(tried many times to get pregant again when 2nd child was close to 2yrs, hormone problems started again after 2nd child, along with thyroid enlargement.

Spring of 2001 celexa 10 mgs-rx'd by pcp for complaints of chronic fatigue, irritability and weight gain, stayed on until June 2005, switched to Lexapro 20mgs for PPD, stayed on Lexapro 6-7 months, couldn't afford to see psyh dr. and Lexapro, saw PCP switched back to 20mgs celexa in 2007, remained on until November 2011, was c/t off due to 3rd pregnancy, baby had umbilical cord defect, seemed ok during pregnancy, except for crying jags here and there. Our miracle baby was born July 20th 2012, healthy except with reflux. One month later the anxiety, restlessness, horrible crying, insomnia and the deepest depression ever. That started the psyh drug nightmare-benzo's,antidepressants, sleeping pills, mood stablizers. Nothing help made me worse, doctors just kept changing the meds frequently. 4 mental health hospitalizations, rapid detox off benzos Jan 2013, horrible withdrawal and still suffering withdrawal symptoms NO ONE BELIEVES ME, I feel like ive been on one consistant drug withdrawal for the past 2 years

January 2014 slow titrate up of lexapro to 20 mgs-horrible side effects!!, was just rapidly taper by current pysh off to pursade me to try an MAOI-no way!!! Was told should consider ECT

On the drugs...

I have had stool back as tar.. a few times this year and in other wd years but no vomiting excessive amounts of blood one time there was just a little blood but not cups full. I am scared to throw up now very scared and try everything to stop it as it hurts like hell and I don't want to bleed again I know it can't be good.  I am quite sure I had that big bleed while taking the hemophilliac drug too so who knows what would have happened with out it tho I would rather I had been told the drugs I was taking could make me bleed rather than take the hemo...drug.

I really thought it was some sort of gyno drug as it was the obgyn that gave it to me. All this is in hind sight as I had no computer and was working my ass off at the time.

Since the massage I had abdominal pain flank area kinda hard to pick the place but it was one place for a few days it seemed to move .. then horrid bad pain above the pelvis and more black stools yesterday.  I feel better today I have not moved much since that massage.  Should see the doc maybe but I feel I know the routine by now... more stool samples that show nothing... more lets give you a ppi.. I don't want to take as my bones are close enough to not good.

Here I sit doing nothing and waiting I am always just waiting to get well as I don't want to take more pills I don't want to have more procedures... that make me worse.  They never find a thing maybe because there is nothing to find.

I had food today the last few days I went off food that helps sometimes... more waiting I guess.

Hi btdt, how are you feeling?

SB

I kind of answered your question in the last post and will answer part of muddles in this one ...

yes it was a big let down to have it go south I was hoping for good things... I have been told it can be a bit rough after to give it a few days... to let the benefits sink in and the soreness go away... I was not sore at all.  not muscle sore...

the lady doing the massage was 90 pounds and had the touch of a bird... she asked me to tell her should I feel anything so I did was surprised by what I did feel... too.

It was not a rough massage in any respect I do not think she did anything wrong at all as it was extremely gentle. Still some things hurt a lot...in odd ways... working on my neck hurt my abdomin and my leg foot... working on my one shoulder hurt my boob working on the other shoulder hurt my shoulder I never have any pain in that shoulder not ever.

bah so fed up just now think I need to do something else... I just don't know what.

I have another massage not at this place but another... I am not so keen on doing it now. I guess everybody looks at me and thinks a massage would do me good so I got two as gifts this year.

I need to figure out what I am going to do go see the doc or not...

I think she is as fed up with me as I am with her. Nothing to look forward to there... not any answers it seems.  I need to go and think about it.

New blood work shows this

In diabetes insipidus, the hypothalamus/pituitary do not put out enough of a hormone called antidiuretic hormone (also called arginine vasopressin). This hormone normally tells the kidney how much water to excrete into the urine. When the hormone secretion is low, it kidneys dump too much water into the urine. The results are that the urine has low concentrations of its usual constituents, including sodium and creatinine.

Also, the amount of water in the blood is decreased, and that causes the blood to become more concentrated in electolytes, and also to have a lower total volume. The person has constant thirst, but even though they drink a lot of fluids, they cannot keep up with the water loss, so they have constant hypovolemia (low blood volume). This low blood volume causes a lower than normal venous return of blood to the heart, and consequently the cardiac output also goes down, because the heart can pump out only what it receives.

The result of this is often orthostatic intolerance. That is, the person cannot stand up very long without feeling faint, or having their blood pressure drop too much (OH or orthostatic hypotension), or having their heart rate speed up too much (POTS or postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome). Also, if they take a warm shower standing up, they tend to faint, because the heat will cause more of their blood flow to be directed to the skin to carry away the heat, and that leaves less for the brain.

after I posted that I realized I was wrong that it said urine and not blood dah I am so sorry if I am doing something misleading ... I just screwed up it was not on purpose... sorry...

Rather than bug the mods I will say that post above was meant for the Chronic fatigue thread... the point was for anyone interested I have new blood work and it says among other things I have low sodium and creatinine... so I was looking it up and found them low together and posted a bit of it.. as it is common in chronic fatigue I put it there...

later I noticed that article said urine and not blood as the source of low ...s and C

``In diabetes insipidus, the hypothalamus/pituitary do not put out enough of a hormone called antidiuretic hormone (also called arginine vasopressin). even if it is wrong I want it here too so I can find it... as I am a bit loopy at the moment... it could pass in a minute or an hour or a day or a wk... just never know...

peace...

These are my new blood test results.

sodium low creatinine low hsCRP marked as abnormal but no reference to if it is high or low it is 8.5 ...High GAMMA GT....

I am waiting to see a liver specialist... seen him before generally takes a long time to get in.  I did not think anyone could have the flu so many times in one month.

Any insight into this sort of combination just now my head is spacey and I am back to bubble head brain fog... so not much I read makes sense as such please keep your answers simple and clear if you have any.  Thanks B

I wish you peace.

17 2007 I quit Effexor cold turkey.

btdt, I know little about those sorts of results but wanted to say I hope it gets sorted.  At least you've got something to work with now, keeping my fingers crossed that effective solutions are on their way then.

Yes it is something to work with... I have had off blood work before many times and my doc often sends me back to the liver doc with what she thinks is a pancreas issue or some other thing and he poo poos it saying she is wrong... seems a bit unethical to me to say your doctor is just wrong... but he sure does all the time.

He may do the same thing this time.  I told her he doesn't do anything pokes around a bit does blood work maybe... it is generally better by the time I get in to see him only to come back. This time the symptoms have come on like the flu several times... all this year so I am thinking I will be pushing him for some answers regarding this... if not my family doc is going to send me for a second opinion to a different liver specialist. and around we go...

Thanks for the well wishing UF I wish this were something new it is in how often it is coming and not abating this year and I am not sure if this is completely new blood work results i know the liver is an ongoing issue ... but the others I could check and should as I get copies of all my tests now.  I am thinking later in the day would be a better time for a walk :) ya sucking out already.

I really should live in a warmer place...

I did sleep a long time last night strange for me.. it was a good thing.

peace all

Hi bdtd, thanks for stopping by my thread, i really hope you get some answers and soon. You are a true warrior, i wish i had your courage and strenght.

Today has been up and down.. feeling mostly not right.  I keep trying things to get this odd thinking to leave... I can't find the words for what it is like and I have a lot of words for feeling in my head that I am sure only people here would understand.

All day I have had bouts of ok to yuck... I have tried salt... I have tried pedialyte... I have tried food.... I have little stamina ... but keep thinking I will have it just doesn't come.  It feels like my brain is just shutting down and not working ... think I have said this before but it feels like it is not getting blood and is starved. Likely is something neurological but generally that would change not keep hanging on and coming and going.  In my experience at least it should turn into a migraine or piss off lately it never does

Can she get a break over here?????!!!!! That's my prayer, not formal, not wordy, but it works.
