Started watching Death In Paradise again, it’s one of my favourite shows. All the different detectives ‍are great, and the scenery is gorgeous 🌊☀️🌴

My mother in law loves this show! My father in law and I always joke we don't know why people keep booking vacations to this Murder Island and there must be a huge cover-up of all these deaths happening by the local tourism board.

I’ve woken up at night about four times, this week, or so, with nerve pain, and today I’ve had nerve activity down my spine and other places. I’m not sure if it’s from withdrawals or something else as I have autoimmune issues.

Arrrrgh, right there with you with the nerve pain. Nothing like it! Really affects my mental health when it flares up. Have you found anything that helps to soothe it?

The journaling I did today was called rage journaling. You write down things you’re angry about from early childhood to now. No censoring. I never really show anger towards anyone, but I’ve got so much repressed anger and it’s good to get it out.

This sounds so cathartic! Thank you for this, gonna have to give it a shot. I've noticed the pain flares up especially much when I've been keeping emotions in, and sometimes I feel some physical relief from letting myself have a cry. A lil bit anyway.

I think I’ll be doing more rage ( okay, autocorrect just tried to change rage to orange🍊😆) journaling. Time to let some of that anger come into the fore in a healthy and productive way😡😜. It’s amazing how much stuff comes up that’s not in your conscious mind, but that’s deep down there hiding in your brain, and ultimately making us sick. I feel lighter after I’ve done the journaling.

Hi @Carmie

Dear @LostInCanada @littlebird @gentlehermione  @Go2zero Thank you all for thinking of me. I’m just taking an hour at a time with my health issues. I tend to do a disappearing act from this site all the time, sometimes it’s days or weeks, and sometimes it’s months. I always seem to come back though😁

My breathing has been really bad this week, but I had some bearable days last week. If I ever disappear from this site completely you’ll know my lungs have packed it in.

Okie dokie, I think I’ll do a gratitude list, since I haven’t done one on this site for quite some time. Here goes:

1. I’m totally grateful for my friends, I’ve caught up with so many friends recently at the park around the corner from my place🌳🌳🌳Such an encouragement.

2. One day I was catching up with about eight friends, or so, in the park. It’s great I can still catch up with friends outdoors and social distance. Anyway, I got to the park early as I wanted some quiet time to write letters📝📝✉️.

This lady sat not too far away from me. She had just been for a walk, and I asked her how she enjoyed her walk. Well, she didn’t speak a word of English, she was on holiday from Columbia and only spoke Spanish. It was fun using my really awful broken Spanish, totally grammatically incorrect, but I still remembered a lot of words from when I lived in Spain for a year when I was about thirteen or so.

3. I’m grateful for Google translate, that also came in very handy. I’d never really used it before. Look, I’m all tech savvy now with my google translate😂😂 Anyway, when my friends arrived I asked her if she wanted to join us, she did and there was lots of Google translating happening, along with my broken Spanish. She had a nice time and she’s caught up with me in the park another couple of times. I think she goes back to Columbia in a few weeks. She’s visiting her son here. One of my friends knew some Spanish people and she introduced them to her and they’ve caught up with her as well. No need for translating there.

4. I love reading, I’ve just started reading Anchored by Deb Dana, on the polyvagal theory. It’s very interesting.

5. I ordered a few more low beach chairs, I use them in the park. The one I’ve got looks like it’s slowly packing it in. I go outdoors so much and they’re so comfy.

6. I’m grateful that I eventually find the things I keep losing. I misplace my glasses and keys all the time. Usually I put my keys in one place, but sometimes in my brain fog haze I forget to do that. I’ve got two pairs of reading glasses and two pairs of distance glasses, but sometimes I’m scrambling to find any, except those on my face🤓. Today, I’m glad to say that one pair is on my face, and the other three are all placed together. One just cannot read with distance glasses📖. I hate bifocals.

7. I looooove pomegranates. I don’t eat nuts, but pomegranates are so lovely and crunchy like a nut. I buy them fresh and frozen. They are yummy out of the freezer when they are nice and cold.

8. Had some mangoes too. Yummy!!

9. I’m a big fan of EBay. There’s such a variety, I’ve bought a lot of my books from there.

10. I’m enjoying the breeze from my fan.

Well, another gratitude list down, sending much love to you all💛

This sounds so refreshing! Might have to check out a farmers' market and see if they're in season.

Reading has been such a godsend! I'll have to check this book out, this topic is fascinating and I have been meaning to get into it more.

From my side of the world to yours: big hugs, comfort, and cheer! Thanks again for sparking the gratitude list habit, it's been a real help to me.

Hi Carmie

Just wanted to check in and say hello or happy holiday/xmas whatever and hope that you are getting on ok

Oaktree

Currently tapering Mirtazapine; previously tapered Cymbalta 30mg from June 2018-Feb 2019 and Seroquel 150mg to zero from Oct-December 2020.

Supplements for Hashimoto's disease and histamine issues relating to Mirtazapine:   Vitamin D3 1,000mcg, bio-identical HRT, Selenium, Quercetin, Lutein, Zinc, Vitamin C, Omega 3.

Mirtazapine Taper: 2021 16th Aug -  transitioned to liquid from tablet by dissolving two 15mg tablets into a solution of 15 ml water and 15 ml maple syrup on a starting dose of what I thought was 7.5ml; 17 Sept  - 7.31; 24 Sept  - 7.13; 15 Oct  - 6.95; 6 Nov  - 6.78; 21 Nov  - 6.61; 5 Dec  - 6.51;

2022 - 1 Jan 6.41; 1 Feb  - 6.1; 9 Mar -  5.8; 13 Mar - 5.9; 7 Apr - 5.8; 21 Apr - 5.7; 7 May - 5.63; 23 May - 5.55; 8 June 5.50;  (got COVID on 12th June so held); 1 July 5.4; 15 July 5.32; 8 Aug 5.2; 15 Aug 5.1; 22 Aug 5; 19 Sept 4.9; 2 Oct 4.81; 13 Oct 4.71; (COVID Booster 17/10/22 so longer hold ); 1 Nov 4.65; 3 Nov 4.60; 10 Nov 4.55; 13 Nov 4.50; 17 Nov 4.45; 20 Nov 4.40;  2 Dec 4.30mg; 9 Dec 4.20mg; I discovered that the volumetric container measured 33ml rather than 30ml in Dec 2022. Following helpful advice from moderator OnMyWay (see her  reply of the 5th March) discovered taper with the dilution was 3.8mg (calculated by dividing 30/33 so that every 1ml of solution has  0.90ml of Mirtazapine.  7.50 - 0.90= 6.6ml which was the starting dose on 16th Aug 2021 not 7.5ml).  I decided to keep using the solution as I didn't want more change to deal with than I had to.

2023 17 Mar 4.1(3.7); 26 Mar 4.0(3.6); 14 Apr 3.9(3.51)28 Apr 3.8(3.42); 6 Jun 3.7(3.33); 19 Jun 3.6(3.24); 30 Jun 3.5(3.1); 19 Jul 3.4(3.06); 27 Jul 3.35 (3.01); 29 Jul 3.3 (2.97); 4 Aug 3.25 (2.92); 7 Aug 3.2 (2.88); 21 Aug 3.1 (2.79); 14.09 3 (2.7); 29th Sept 2.9(2.61); 15 Oct 2.8(2.52); 30 Oct 10 2.7(2.43); 13 Nov 2.65(2.38); 20 Nov 2.6(2.34); 26 Nov 2.55(2.29); 10 Dec 2.5(2.25);

2024 - 14 Jan 2.45(2.20); 22 Jan 2.40(2.16); 29 Jan 2.35(2.11); 2 Feb 2.3 (2.07);15 Feb 2.25(2.02); 22 Feb 2.21 (1.98); 29 Feb 2.17(1.95); 7 Mar 2.13(1.91); 21 Mar 2.05 (1.84); 31 Mar 2.01 (1.80); 14 Apr 1.90 (1.71);

This is not 'medical advice' - my 'non medical advice' is don't get any more 'medical advice' or you may end up getting more 'medical treatment' i.e more drugs, DSM labels and/or ECT.   Please do not PM me thanks.

Hi Carmie

thinking if you and wishing you well.

hope to see a post from you soon if you feel up to it

Oaktree 1

Currently tapering Mirtazapine; previously tapered Cymbalta 30mg from June 2018-Feb 2019 and Seroquel 150mg to zero from Oct-December 2020.

Supplements for Hashimoto's disease and histamine issues relating to Mirtazapine:   Vitamin D3 1,000mcg, bio-identical HRT, Selenium, Quercetin, Lutein, Zinc, Vitamin C, Omega 3.

Mirtazapine Taper: 2021 16th Aug -  transitioned to liquid from tablet by dissolving two 15mg tablets into a solution of 15 ml water and 15 ml maple syrup on a starting dose of what I thought was 7.5ml; 17 Sept  - 7.31; 24 Sept  - 7.13; 15 Oct  - 6.95; 6 Nov  - 6.78; 21 Nov  - 6.61; 5 Dec  - 6.51;

Hi dear @littlebird @Emonda @Oaktree1 @Rosetta @direstraits @hayduke @Longroadhome

Thanks for all your messages, that was so nice of you to think of me. I’ve been very sick with my breathing problems, so I’m just living an hour at a time. Just seem to be in survival mode. My lungs may pack it in one day.

It’s almost my bedtime soon, so I’ll write more another day.

Good night💛

Thanks for your kind words @hayduke @Emonda I hope that you’re both having a delightful day. My iPad died today, so I’m squinting typing this on my phone.

I might do a gratitude list nonetheless, though I’ll probably be cross eyed by the time I get to the end of it😁

1. I enjoyed my dinner tonight after doing a 24 hour fast. Yummy! I wasn’t all that hungry though during the fast, but about an hour or so before the end I was looking forward to my food.

I’m doing the Mindy Pelz autoimmune fast: 5 days of 17 hour fasting, one 24 hour fast and then one day no fasting. I’ll just do that over and over. I don’t really have too much problem sticking to that as I don’t eat until noon anyway, and I’ve done heaps of intermittent fasting in the past.

2. Had a nice heart to heart with a friend on the phone today. We mutually boost each other up, lots of co-regulating happening there😃

3. Started doing FasterEFT with another friend a fortnight ago. She’s a practitioner and a good friend, and she doesn’t charge me anything. We do it through FaceTime. I had a session last week and the week before and I’m going to have another one this week.

I was totally in a shutdown dorsal vagal state as I wasn’t coping with my breathing. I’m still miserable as I’m struggling to breathe, but I don’t feel quite as stuck now. Bawled my eyes out through the whole last session. The first session got me out of the dorsal vagus state a bit. I’m grateful that I have such kind friends. She said she’d like me to have weekly treatments. So grateful🧡

4. Got myself a cute little meerkat soft toy.

5. I have a million books. Love books📚📚📚

6. I’m happy my sister has gone on a nice cruise. She deserves it, she works really hard.

7. One of my friends took the lady from Columbia that I met a couple of months ago to her home to have morning tea and show her the garden. The lady is so lovely, but doesn’t speak English, so it’s been fun using broken Spanish and Google translate. I can’t go to people’s places because of my lungs, but I meet her in the park around the corner from my place, that’s where I first met her. Outdoors and social distancing. I’m catching up with her again this week. She will be going back to Columbia again next month. Other friends of mine have taken her to a cafe a few times too.

8. I’ve been making lots of bookmarks for friends. I’m grateful that we all have creativity.

9. Been watching Vera, the cranky ol’ detective. I’m enjoying this whodunnit series. Good distraction.

10. I’m grateful that I’ve gotten back into journaling every morning. I love to do it on paper. I get all those thoughts out of my head.

Something really clicked about habits this week, as I came across the same thing in two different YouTube videos. They pretty much said to have compassion for yourself. If you miss a day or so of doing whatever you are making a habit, don’t give up altogether. Just get back into it, have compassion for ourselves. Things don’t have to be black and white.

Okie dokie, gratitude list done.

Sending hugs🤗

That's a marathon on the phone!  I hope you get a new ipad soon.

Fasting is awesome, I hope it brings you some relief.  Polyvagal theory is cool too, I have done a bit with it but could stand to learn more.  Nice of your friend to help out with your EFT sessions too.

Spanish is a beautiful language, good on you for helping out.

Re compassion, that's great advice.  Never any point beating yourself up 🙂

Ooops!  Still can't get the quote thing working right - I can't manage to fast at all - wish I was as good at fasting as you are - particularly at the moment as I have acquired a huge mid section in the past few months.  I hope this fast is going ok and is helping the autoimmune issues.

Been watching Vera, the cranky ol’ detective. I’m enjoying this whodunnit series. Good distraction.

I am watching re runs of Columbo whom I love but I think I will have a go at Vera next.  One or two of the episodes of series 4 were pretty dark.  I saw it 20 years ago - weird I didn't find it so dark then.   I am looking for drama with relatively decent people in it at the moment - never saw Vera before.

This sounds absolutely brilliant.  Crying is so important for release - what a great friend she sounds like.  I hope your breathing is a small bit better after it.

Nothing more annoying than tech finally dying - My iphone keeps discharging itself presently and I keep putting off going in to get it looked at.  I hope you got sorted with a repair or a new one.

I’m grateful that I’ve gotten back into journaling every morning. I love to do it on paper. I get all those thoughts out of my head.

You are so disciplined about doing the stuff that is helpful for calming - a real example to the rest of us.  I will give myself a kick now and go and do something that is 'good' for me as opposed to binge watching videos on Youtube.  I am a Steven Bartlett addict at the moment - he has some very interesting people on his podcast and the tone and content - I can find a bit of hope in it.  He's a very good interviewer - non showy but very articulate - good listener.  I know you look at Youtube because you're not keen on Daniel Boland.

I hope you are keeping ok.  It is great that you have friends checking in on you and ringing you.  You deserve it.

Thanks for popping over. It’s really hard for me to read and write on here at the moment as my iPad died and it’s so hard to look at the tiny letters on my phone. Eye strain. I’ll probably get a new iPad in a month or so. I will be back.

Hi Carmie

I hope you were able to get a new Ipad or will be soon.  I recently had to get a new phone as my last one was on it's last legs - I hope you are keeping ok and still enjoying 'Vera'.

Hi @Oaktree1 @Rosetta

Thanks for popping over, I still haven’t got another iPad. A friend said to wait until the new ones come out, as then the one I want will be cheaper. I haven’t missed having one, it’s good to not spend so much time on a device.

I will be back, but it’s just too hard to focus with the little writing on my iPhone.

Hi Carmie

You are so right on the devices - Johannes Hari says it all in 'Stolen Focus' the book on how these things destroy our attention.  I write this as a complete sucker having spent half the day on my phone.  I can't write on it either - even with the script enlarged.

Good to hear from you anyway.

How have you been doing?

Hi guys, thanks for popping over. I haven’t been doing too well with my health, struggling to breathe all the time is taking its toll. I hope you’re both doing okay.

I might write a gratitude list today. Here goes:

1. I’ve been doing lots of EFT, it’s been very beneficial. I’m on a roll, I’ve been doing it daily for over a month.

2. My husband just got his new NDIS funding and he got heaps of funding again, which is great news. His external carers can take him out lots every week.

3. My husband lives in a nice care home. NDIS also pays for his carers there, though we pay the rent and board. NDIS has been so great.

4. I haven’t really been anywhere as there have been so many viruses around and it’s been too risky. Maybe I can try and get out and about with my husband and one of his carers in the next couple of weeks. His carers usually bring him around here and I just meet them outdoors. When I have gone out with them I wear a mask in the car.

5. A couple of my friends popped around the other day. We were going to meet in the park, but it was raining heavily. I had a brain wave and just opened the garage and social distanced down there. They’re both my medical attorneys too, so had to do some paperwork.

6. A friend recommended a book series and I love it!! It’s called The Thursday Murder Mystery Club. The main characters live in an exclusive retirement village. It’s so entertaining and I love the quirky characters. I’m onto the second novel. The second novel so far is particularly funny, I’m only onto chapter five and I’ve already laughed out loud a few times.

You have to read the books in order as you need to get to know the characters. I love Joyce, she’s such a hoot!!

7. Tv series wise I’ve been watching a bit of this and that, Poirot, the Inspector Lynley Mysteries and Vera. I’m onto season 12 of Vera.

8. Enjoyed a nice cup of ginger and lemon tea.

9. Been managing to do a tiny bit of decluttering here and there lately. I haven’t had much strength due to CFS, but I’m slowly getting on top of some things.

10. Finally finished doing my medical directive. I’ve been procrastinating about it as I had to see a Dr and a JP. Any close indoor interaction with people is a risk. My friends signed it the other day too, as mentioned. Soooo glad that’s over and done with. Just have to make some copies and give them to my friends and the Dr.

Such a relief! You know when you have to do something, but you keep putting it off. It turns into such a big mountain that you’re constantly thinking about, until you actually do it.

Anyway, I hope this all makes sense. Too braindead to proof read.

Sending big hugs🤗

Hey OP.

I don't think I've seen your thread before.

I, too, am trying to extremely slowly taper off of 50mg I.R. Seroquel to start with.

What was the reason(s) for you wanting to not use the Seroquel I.R. anymore? Which side-effects/iatongeic injuries/brain and nervous system injuries of this tranquilizer ("anti-psychotic") did your physiology have?

I have ME/CFS from "limbic kindling" on/off so many of these Psychotropic/Histamine drugs. So, I can relate to you. My nervous system has been permanently injured because of this for years and years. I'm otherwise completely 100% healthy but am disabled due to these ME/CFS symptoms. I recently learned about 'limbic kindling' on here and finally got an answer. My symptoms of ME/CFS aren't from an STD and aren't from some cold/flu I've had in the past. Nor are they from my Copper IUD or mold in the house somewhere, etc. A recent low-histamine eating attempt didn't help either. I've yet to contract COVID-19 & have been double-masking diligently and carefully this whole time; & recently upgraded to wearing an n95 or n99 with blue mask over-top & a fabric mask.

In my thread, I had planned a like 4 yr liquid taper. When I say slow, I mean slow. & I just attempted a liquid taper that was a complete ****-show of an attempt. I finally found out about liquid tapers on this website a few months ago - why nobody ever told me about it in the Mental Health Hospital Unit I had to take myself due to Seroquel withdrawal many times or other medications themselves or the withdrawal from them, in-patient facilities thrice in 6 months because of withdrawal symptoms or medications themselves, Dr's, etc is abhorrent. ***This website is a god-send and the only thing that has any shred of credibility - in regards to Psychiatry and Psychotropic ie: Histamine Drugs. (And Pharmacists. & whistle-blowers)*** The relentless and intense gas-lighting and misinformation can literally kill people. & it goes against everything about the Social Determinants of Health, which are the epitome of a person's overall well-being. I've recently rented from the library books on the dangerous incompetencies and lack of evidence/shady research of Psychotropic Drugs and Psychiatry from Investigative Journalists and Psychiatrists themselves. There's also a lot of content on Reddit and Youtube and blogs, such as beyondmeds.com, which is how I found this forum after a google search about Lamictal withdrawal.

But I digress. The bubbles in the syringe made it impossible to be accurate & lasted 1.5 weeks of increasing hell. I recognized some withdrawal symptoms from the past. I knew the first day after my evening dosage that it wasn't going to work but was desperate and tried many times to re-do the liquid in the syringes before I gave up and swallowed them and went to bed. I'm always exhausted. My brain always shuts off at like 7pm. I was doing 49.6mg. (Well, it was 6.2mL of liquid, based on the bottle that was an Rx for 40mg - two 5mL syringes, which was a -10% reduction. lolno.) So, two 3mL syringes and one really tiny syringe with 0.2mL being drawn.

Once again, for many people, that may seem unnecessarily slow. But Seroquel is a ***beast*** of a drug & an ***extremely*** complex drug (go.drugbank.com and detox centre Seroquel info pages) + my physiology is hypersensitive in general to Psychotropic drugs (ie: histamine drugs.)

After I got the Rx for the liquid from the walk-in clinic, I had read on here the Seroquel taper thread and saw to do one 25mg pill, three quarter segments of a pill, and the rest liquid, since my physiology is used to pill-form. But I hate going to the walk-in clinic and wasting my fuel and wear/tear on my vehicle for this nonsense, because I've had issues with that doctor's bedside manner since this whole ordeal started. So, I didn't want to go back to him and ask to modify the liquid taper with pills as well. I'm going back next week to get more pills, because I'm almost out and have no choice. I'm not looking forward to it and will be thinking this whole weekend about being uncomfortable talking to him. He assured me that a -10% reduction would be perfectly fine & hinted that I experience psychosomatic symptoms during withdrawal attemps. NO. This website and whistleblowers proves that it's VERY real. None of us have a history of hypochondria or hyperbolizing/being dramatic. I guarantee it. In the past, he told me to take mini pieces of Seroquel to fend off the withdrawal, as did an in-patient Psychiatrist, which landed me right back there about a month later when I couldn't take the torturous withdrawal anymore. You're literally playing dangerous ping-pong with your extremely delicate brain chemistry, and it's not a ******* benzodiazapine! I don't **** with benzos. Never have. I can handle my emotions by using my learned behaviour from my childhood. ie: emotional-regulation skills.

I'll have to update my thread when I'm feeling up to it. I just went back to homeostasis on the pills again a couple of days ago after like 5 being in hell. & am back to square one with the inconsistent and immensely infuriating and disabling tranquilizing + the irritating and dangerous myoclonus. I just know that I need to stay back on the pills for a couple of months for my nervous system's sake. This summer is going to be extremely difficult with the heat tampering with all of these Psychotropic drugs again. In the mean time, I've been getting disabilities for years due to the ME/CFS symptoms from 'limbic kindling' anyway. But I may need to put a pause on my long-term relationship, because the tranquilizing is another additional layer of unnecessary fatigue on top of my already fatigue. I've been through so many med changes stemming from a severe reaction to LoLoestrin, and I've recently: unsuccessfully tried to lower the Pristiq, unsuccessfully take the Lamictal later because it negatively interracts with Gabapentin, probiotics wiping out my medication(s), and unsuccessfully swapping the 50mg I.R. Seroquel for 50mg X.R. Seroquel.

Current:

#1Before-bed: 50mg I.R. Seroquel (since July 2021 due to a horrific limbic system reaction to LoLoestrin.)

#2: Before-bed: 50mg X.R. Seroquel (added in Nov 2022 at 3rd in-patient stay w/in 6 months because I was withdrawing so severely from a few unnecessary things at the same time)

#3: 150mg Pristiq ($3/day. Raised during 1st Seroquel I.R. taper attempt (took off 1/4 of a pill because didn't know about liquid until I learned about it myself earlier this year) because nobody knew what to do. Didn't work. Had to go back up on Seroquel I.R. Recently learned by myself that they work on different Serotonins.)

#4: 300mg AM + 300mg before-bed Gabapentin. During 2nd in-patient stay. Wanted to take just two doses of 100mg instead. But I was denied.

#5: 50mg Lamictal (raised 2x within 1 week but went along with it because I was so unwell with withdrawal.)

Past: Late 2021/2022: Abilify - anxiety. Lasted on it less than a week. Rexulti - suicidal ideation. Lasted on it less than a week. Latuda - at first, hypomanic. Soon thereafter: severe depressed, couldn't work/socialize, & wanted to drink. Sweat the bed the whole time. Horrific to come off of. Divalproex - 3 doses/day made me wonky/hypomanic. 4 doses/day made me anxious within days. Went back down to 3/day. Horrific to come off of.

2014-2017: Cipralex, Celexa, Zoloft, & the one that starts with an 'S': Anxiety, OCD, Intrusive thoughts, Diarhea (Zoloft), etc. Prozac: made me paranoid! Paxil: felt like I was on bath-salts! Cymbalta & Effexor: Irresponsibly Rx'ed too much. Flat (Cymbalta). High as a kite (Effexor). Appetite suppressed. Partial-insomnia. Sweat the bed. Almost numb body. Literally Constant Putrid Flatulence. Various Sexual side-effects. Wellbutrin: great energy, no pain, appetite suppressedn, felt like I had Autism within a few days of taking it. Had to stop. Asked for a way smaller dose, & he didn't get back to me. Pristiq since 2012 (besides when trying other Anti D's). Living with side-effects (ME/CFS, partial-insomnia sometimes, constant drippy-nose/snot to blow out.)

Mid March 2024: attempt a 13th & final withdrawal from 50mg I.R. Seroquel (inconsistent constant myoclonus all over + inconsistent severe tranquilizing of my forearms, fingers, shins, & toes - since July 2021. Reduced greatly when 50mg X.R. had to be added in Nov 2022, but still disabling). But this time, I've learned by myself recently about a liquid taper. In-patient places + myself only tried a 1/4 pill reduction. It made me admit myself to the Hospital a few times. Nobody since July 2021 ever once mentioned a liquid. Shocking. Also recently learned more about Seroquel (H1 & D2) & Histamine action/tranquilizing. + A low-histamine diet.
