Hi @Carmie. I'm so sorry to hear that you're still struggling so much. It must be even more difficult being isolated at this time. But yes there are lots of horrible bugs/colds/flus/covids going around in our part of the world atm and you need to stay safe.

If I can do anything to help, please let me know. I am not so far away geographically.

Thinking of you.

We are in a wave of Covid, flus and colds at the moment and I haven’t been able to go on any outings. I’m just in survival mode, just trying to make it to the end of each day. It would be dangerous for me to catch anything.

Right there with you... it can be really lonely and claustrophobic. I've been finding myself nostalgic for earlier in the pandemic when people were still masking/distancing/organizing outdoor events. Those of us who can't afford to have covid have been left in the dust.

Sending much love💛💛

Glad to hear WD is going all right and you're still in a window! Lots of love to you too, hoping this flare fades soon and you have big relief.

Pronouns: they/them/theirs

Started on Prozac in early 2000s to treat cPTSD, been on various cocktails ever since.

2002-2004, 2017-2022: Buspar, tapered down to 0

2016-present: 100mg Seroquel for sleep -> May 2023: 90mg -> June 2023: 81mg -> September 2023: 72mg -> switched to brand name, much too strong, down to 60mg -> October 2023: 54mg -> November 2023: 50mg -> January 2024: 45mg -> April 2024: 40.5mg

2016-Present: 100mg Wellbutrin SR -> January 2023: 75mg IR (37.5mg 2x a day) -> February 2023 (33.75mg 2x a day) -> July 2023 (30.37mg 2x a day) -> August 2023: 27.33mg 2x a day

2018-present: 25mg Pristiq

2015-present: 600mg Gabapentin (200mg 3x a day) -> December 2022: 300mg Gabapentin (100mg 3x a day) per GP's recommendation after side effects -> March 2023: 90mg 3x a day (switched to liquid suspension) -> April 2023: 81mg 3x a day -> September 2023: bad generic, switched back to homemade liquid; too strong after bad generic, down to 70mg 3x a day, still bad. Adjusted slowly till at 60mg 3x a day, much better. Long hold till -> December 2023: 54mg, still feels too high after November Seroquel switch from brand name to generic, doc recommended 50mg which feels better -> January 2024: When Wellbutrin went down, Gabapentin started putting me to sleep, went down to 45mg, then 41mg to stay awake, so far so good -> February 2024: 36mg, still too high, 34mg -> March 2024: 31mg, STILL too high, 30mg

Supplements: Multivitamin w/magnesium, probiotics, digestive enzymes, anti-viral nitric oxide nose spray as needed

Dear @j1290  @Fifree  @Go2zero  @direstraits @Onmyway  @hayduke

Thank you all for your very kind messages. It’s so very nice of you to think of me.

I’m really not doing well, the struggling to breathe is so bad. I feel like I’m suffocating n I’m so extremely claustrophobic. Can’t stop crying. It’s really unbearable. This flare won’t end!!

I’m just distracting myself. I’ve been watching House, I’m onto season four now. I only had half of season one, so I just ordered the whole season. I’ll watch the second half when it comes. I’m going to be alternating between House and Monk.

I’m doing some crosswords too for distraction.

I’m still in a window, though my nervous system is shot. I’ve had a few days where my symptoms ramped up a bit too, but overall the last drop is going okay so far.

Every morning I journal for three large A4 pages and write down whatever pops into my mind.

A friend just rang me and another few sms’d me while I was writing this. I’m grateful for these kind souls too, they’re always there for me. I feel really lost though, and they feel lost too, as there’s nothing they can do to help me.

One second at a time does it💛

Tapering is not the easier, softer way, for sure.  Sorry to hear about your flareup, but I'm glad you're able to manage, rough as it is.  Binge watching good shows is an excellent idea!  I have a few I need to catch up on myself.

This is such a lonely battle.  I'm grateful to have this website to chat with others going through the same thing.

hope you’re ok well still there anyway even if not ok.  You haven’t been on here in a while .  Thinking of you anyway in the moments when I stop thinking about my own situation

Oaktree 1

Currently tapering Mirtazapine; previously tapered Cymbalta 30mg from June 2018-Feb 2019 and Seroquel 150mg to zero from Oct-December 2020.

Supplements for Hashimoto's disease and histamine issues relating to Mirtazapine:   Vitamin D3 1,000mcg, bio-identical HRT, Selenium, Quercetin, Lutein, Zinc, Vitamin C, Omega 3.

Mirtazapine Taper: 2021 16th Aug -  transitioned to liquid from tablet by dissolving two 15mg tablets into a solution of 15 ml water and 15 ml maple syrup on a starting dose of what I thought was 7.5ml; 17 Sept  - 7.31; 24 Sept  - 7.13; 15 Oct  - 6.95; 6 Nov  - 6.78; 21 Nov  - 6.61; 5 Dec  - 6.51;

Hi Carmie.  Sending healing.  Peace.  I too, get alot out of journaling.  Just into my umpteenth journal which is fun.  Filing the old and all the fresh new pages.  Starting to sketch a little too.  And the music.  Working on "Let it Be" on my guitar.  AND a concert this week to go to!  Maybe 2!  I don't want to overdo though so I'll see.  Getting after the rest and doing well.  Love, peace, healing, and growth. mmt

Late 2023- gone to emeritus status, inactive, don't @ me, I can check who I've posted on, and I'm not really here like I used to be......thanks.

Started with psycho meds/psychiatric care circa 1988.  In retrospect, and on contemplation, situational overwhelm.

Rounding up to 30 years of medications(30 medication trials, poly-pharmacy maximum was 3 at one time).

5/28/2015-off Adderal salts 2.5mg. (I had been on that since hospital 10/2014)

12/2015---just holding, holding, holding, with trileptal/oxcarb at 75 mg. 1/2 tab at hs.  My last psycho med ever!  Tapered @ 10% every 4 weeks, sometimes 2 weeks to

2016 Dec 16 medication free!!

Longer signature post here, with current supplements.

Herb and alcohol free since 5/15/2016.  And.....I quit smoking 11/2021. Lapsed.  Redo of quit smoking 9/28/2022.  Can you say Hallelujah?(took me long enough)💜

 Hi dear @Fifree @j1290 @LostInCanada @Oaktree1 @direstraits @Onmyway @manymoretodays

Thank you for all your lovely messages. I’m not doing good, and I haven’t been well enough to come on here. My breathing has been so severe. I’m starting to think I’ll never go into remission. Don’t know how long my lungs will hold out the way I’m going. The last two months have been horrific. Two years of this is taking its toll. I’m doing everything I can to try and get my autoimmunity into remission, but the vaccine won’t allow my body to stop attacking itself. I’m on a ton of supplements to help with the spike protein etc, nothing is working. I’m on LDN as well. I was just talking with my naturopath and he was saying he’s seeing so much damage from the vaccine, one person got Parkinson’s after it. I used to be able to go into remission before the vaccine.

I’m struggling to focus on things due to the stress and my CFS brain fog, but I’m going to have to start organising paperwork etc in case I end up dying as my lungs could pack it in. My husband’s sister and niece would have to go to a QCAT tribunal to get guardianship, like I had to.

Besides that, there’s so much involved as regards organising all of my husband’s affairs, his health care, the external support workers, organising things with his care home, finances, paying his bills, staying on top of the NDIS, organising things with the support coordinators and physio etc etc

I need to get all my affairs in order too, I don’t even have a will, not that I own much anyway. I don’t own property. Dying itself doesn’t really worry me, but there’s so much to organise in case it does happen, especially when your spouse needs 24/7 care.

I’m suffocating, claustrophobic and just in survival mode. I won’t be on here for a while again, I’m just surviving.

Sending much love🧡🧡

I am so very sorry you are struggling so much with your lung condition, @Carmie. Two years is such a long time to have something so debilitating and you've been such a trooper.  I am really really hoping something starts working for you and/or the autoimmune condition goes into remission on its own.  I am thinking of you and sending lots of hopeful, healing hugs, WR 💖

-1/06 - 3/07 Cymbalta. Fast taper (essentially CT); withdrawal symptoms after 4 mos (didn't realize was WD)

-10/07: 100 mg Zoloft; 1 mg Klonopin - tapered off Klonopin after 4 mos. Several unsuccessful slow tapers of Zoloft; went up and down in dose a lot

-Spring 2013 back on 1 mg Klonopin to counter WD symptoms; switched over 5-6 mos from Zoloft to 35 mg citalopram
-Two attempts at slow tapering citalopram, always increased dose due to WD; also increased Klonopin to 1.25 mg in 2014, then to 1.5 mg in 2015

-8/17-9/17: After holding one year at 20 mg, feeling withdrawal symptoms due to stress - slowly increased to 25 mg. No change in symptoms after 6 months (? tolerance ?)  - decided to start citalopram taper February 2018 (still on Klonopin 1.5 mg).

Carmie,

I am so sorry to hear that you are suffering like this.  I think of you often.  I am so sorry.  Is there not some respite care centre where you could receive some care - where you would be in regular contact with other people?  I think being on your own at a time like this must be even harder.  Your husband is in a care centre.  Would there be a possibility you could go there yourself for a time?

Oaktree1

Currently tapering Mirtazapine; previously tapered Cymbalta 30mg from June 2018-Feb 2019 and Seroquel 150mg to zero from Oct-December 2020.

Supplements for Hashimoto's disease and histamine issues relating to Mirtazapine:   Vitamin D3 1,000mcg, bio-identical HRT, Selenium, Quercetin, Lutein, Zinc, Vitamin C, Omega 3.

Mirtazapine Taper: 2021 16th Aug -  transitioned to liquid from tablet by dissolving two 15mg tablets into a solution of 15 ml water and 15 ml maple syrup on a starting dose of what I thought was 7.5ml; 17 Sept  - 7.31; 24 Sept  - 7.13; 15 Oct  - 6.95; 6 Nov  - 6.78; 21 Nov  - 6.61; 5 Dec  - 6.51;

Following helpful advice from moderator OnMyWay (see her  reply of the 5th March) discovered taper with the dilution was 3.8mg (calculated by dividing 30/33 so that every 1ml of solution has  0.90ml of Mirtazapine.  7.50 - 0.90= 6.6ml which was the starting dose on 16th Aug 2021 not 7.5ml).  I decided to keep using the solution as I didn't want more change to deal with than I had to.

Hello beautiful people @LostInCanada @wantrelief @j1290 @Oaktree1 @Go2zero @FireflyFyte @Catina7 @direstraits @Fifree @hayduke

Thank you for all your amazing messages. I so appreciate them. I’m still not in remission from my autoimmune flare, but today has been a little more bearable.

I’m not giving up hope that I may go into remission again one day. I’m sorry I haven’t been on here, but I’m really struggling with my breathing, it’s been so intense. In May I was having some bearable days, but June, July and August have been unbearable.

I’m not sure 100%, but I think the LDN made my breathing a tiny bit more bearable in May. I was at 1.5mg. A week after I upped it to 1.75mg it got really severe again. My endocrinologist wanted me to slowly go up to 4.5mg, but I don’t think I’ll be doing that. Again, I don’t know if it’s the LDN or not that helped me a bit in May. I white knuckled it for a few months, but then decided to go back down to 1.5mg for some time. That didn’t help.

Recently I skipped two days of taking it n then I took it for another few days. Then I skipped three days and have been on it for another few days. At 1.5mg every time. Like I said, today was a touch more bearable.

I was really worried about skipping days of the LDN in case it ramped up my withdrawals. When I skipped two days I had a little wave the day after, and when I skipped three days I had a big wave the day after, but I’m okay again. I do think the LDN was what made my breathing a bit more bearable in May. I’m not giving up on it. I’m not sure how I’ll go forward with it, but maybe I’ll skip some days here n there. I’ve read so many stories of people benefiting from it.

Anyway, that’s what’s been happening. One hour at a time does it. By the way, I’ve done another drop since being on here, I’m down to 3.35mg of Seroquel. Too brain dead to put it in my signature today, but will do it soon. The drop went fine, except for the waves that only lasted for a day or so after having days off from the LDN.

Sending much love to all🧡🧡

Hi @Carmie, I am so happy to read that you seem to do a little bit better! Sending you Love and Light! ❤️ 🙏

Thanks Go2zero,

It’s been a tiny bit more bearable today, though still struggling to breathe. Don’t know how tomorrow will be. Just taking an hour at a time. It’s so very scary suffocating all the time.

Maybe I’ll do a little gratitude list today:

1. Some friends popped around yesterday with a gift, a craft project, which I love doing. I can’t have people indoors at my place because of my lungs, but we chilled downstairs.

2. My friends two young boys have so much energy, it was lovely to see the enthusiasm of young ones. I had a gift for them too, a board game called Ticket To Ride. I bought it a while ago, due to a friend’s recommendation, but I never got around to using it. Now I can’t use it, as I can’t social distance playing board games. It’s a game where you have to try n get the trains to their station, cards are involved as well. The kids are happy, which made me happy.

3. My husband’s support worker picked me up some prawns squid from the fish market yesterday.

4. I managed to do another drop of my meds, without too much drama so far, except for a couple of days.

5. Love my Himalayan salt lamp. I have it in all the time, even during the day, as I love the glow.

6. Love books. I’ve managed to get almost half way through Revenge, by Tom Bower,  this week. The Harry n Meghan saga has me fascinated, as I’ve dealt with narcissists, and I could tell right from the beginning that Meghan was trouble. I would like to read Courtiers, by Valentine Low, as well. I also started reading a John Grisham novel. All good distractions.

7. Okay, I’ve started watching Doc Martin from the beginning again too. Looooooove that show. Martin Clunes is an amazing actor, and the scenery is spectacular. Again, good distraction. I just have to keep distracting myself to survive.

8. I’m grateful for online grocery shopping.

9. I’m grateful for the beautiful sunny day.

10. I’m grateful I can still find things to be grateful for.

Thank you so much @Kostas

Life is so hard for me at the moment. I’m glad today was bearable, and that I even managed to do a gratitude list. the suffocating feeling of struggling to breathe day in day out for years is just horrendous.

I’m just taking each moment as it comes. I love interacting with all the beautiful people on here and helping different ones, but I’ve just been too sick to be on here. I’m just doing things to distract myself, and most days I don’t even know how I make it to the end of the day, I’ve cried so much, it’s horrific.

I hope tomorrow is bearable, sending hugs🤗

P.s. just have to share this, I just got a message from a friend of mine who made her own bread. She was so excited, which made me excited for her. She sent me two photos, one of the bread, and one of her eating it with bread. Love my friends sooo much. I’m very grateful for them.
