Meistersinger, I too am praying for you to find shelter and a peaceful environment to heal in. You are a good person and you do not deserve this treatment. I pray that a solution reveals itself in a safe place.

I did find a small independent motel for 185.00 per week rent. It is dingy, but will do. It does have a refrigerator and a microwave. While this place has free wifi, some of the rooms have problems getting a signal. I am in one of those rooms, so it looks like I'll be using my ciPhone for the time being. There is a Food Lion a quarter of a mile to the east of this place, so I can get groceries.

When I got to church yesterday, I saw the assistant pastor's husband, who is also a pastor, and was just named to a position in the Bishop's office, was performing the services. I I found out from one of the ushers that her father died on Saturday. I decided now wasn't the time to ask her about my request. I did say something to our soprano soloist in my choir, but she did not have anything. The same with our bass soloist. I said something to another couple that used to work with my father at the same company before he died 26 years ago, but they have a daughter at home, so they have no room.

I did stop at the Papa John's I used to work at before being fired for that traffic ticket last night. There was only the assistant manager and a driver working. They were busy, and unable to talk. I ordered a pizza and a bottle of water, then left.

I did speak to my caseworker at MHMR on Friday. Before they can refer me to any other organizations, I need to have a physical, as well as a Tuberculosis test. I'll probably be calling them today to set up an appointment. While I am at it, I might was well has my thyroid tested, as well as be tested for mold, since there was plenty of it at the house.

1995--Effexor--Quit per my GP

1996--Amitriphene--Quit CT when changed GP

2005--Citalopram and BusPar. Prescribed when I decompensated in my GP's office. GP referred me to behavior health. Psychiatrist prescibed these drugs. Taken off citalopram in 2011 due to FDA warning. Quit Buspar during transition to viibryd.

Viibryd--2011 to present. Had a severe reaction in March 2012. Advised both GP and Psychiatrist I was trying to get off these drugs.

Meistersinger,

You're making your way thru a situation that is my ~ and probably most people's ~ worst nightmare. On second thought... I doubt that most people I know ever think it's a possibility that they will be without a home. (I've had Bag Lady Syndrome from young age)

Are you feeling some relief being away from your brother?

I admire your strength and levelheadedness. Please continue to keep us posted.

I have gotten some relief from not being around him. I did wake up to some anxiety around 4:00 am this morning, which may have been from Viibryd. I shaking right now, but that probably because I'm underneath an air conditioning vent;-).

They referred me to MHMR. Of course, when I got to my appointment, the form MHMR need for my case was no where to be found. Either the caseworker forgot to fax it over, or Wellspan, as usual, managed to lose it.

As for the thyroid testing, it was done about 1 and 2 years ago, and everything looks normal.the resident that did the physical, since my regular resident is booked right now through October, did not feel that mold testing was necessary, since she did not hear anything in my chest, as well as intimated that Medicaid was on a cost cutting binge, and was not willing to open that can of worms. I should have insisted, but I think she is a first year resident, and rather not rock the boat (not that I blame her). I went back downtown to talk to my caseworker at MHMR, but she had already left for the day. AARGH!!!! Why does everything I get involved with have to be done the hard way?

On the other hand, I heard from my attorney's paralegal this morning. She still did not receive the psychological assessments. She requested I contact his office to get those scores. Strangely enough, I got an email from my therapist while waiting in my GP's waiting room, so I asked if he could send those scores to my attorney's paralegal, MHMR and OVR. I guess I'll have to walk the physical forms from MHMR to the doctor's office tomorrow, and schedule for TB test.

Hi Meistersinger

Just checking in - I'm releaved to hear that you have a roof over your head and food to eat (still praying for you every day). You are doing an excellent job of navigating the bureaucracy. Just the fact that you continue to chip away at this is commendable. Hang in there and keep us posted.

Sorry for the frustrating rant. It is just that MHMR requires that form and the Tuberculosis test in order to move forward with the service organizations, as well as move forward with Vocational Rehab in order to get housing, training, etc.

I did actually get some sleep. I had on the Weather Channel, following the track of tropical storm Issac, and dozed off around 6:30 PM. I woke up around 8:30, took my Viibryd, drank some milk, and went back to sleep. I was up around midnight to go to the bathroom. I had a slight anxiety attack around 2:00AM, and got up again at 4:30 am to use the bathroom, and took my blood sugars. I'm currently trembling, but that's because the Air conditioning duct is right over the bed and is going full blast. There's no thermostat in this room, so I just dive under the covers. The high temperature today is supposed to hit 89 degrees, so I guess that is some consolation.

Anyhow, I do appreciate the thoughts and prayers from everyone, even though I can be a pain at times. I never handled uncertain situations well. I guess I'm like my late mother, who always was anxious and worried in an uncertain situation. Given the abuse she suffered growing up, I can understand how she felt. I guess I learned that behavior from her.

Hi meister.. I'm asking about the MHMR/OVR stuff because of the housing. You said the waiting lists are too long. When you get the forms done for them, will you come up on a housing list sooner?

I'm glad you got some sleep, but am concerned you could get sick because of the air conditioner?

You are doing great M.. I'm sure you are feeling anxiety, who wouldn't.. but I would not fare as well as you are. We are glad to be 'here' with you as much as possible.

At this point, I can't tell. I am going by what MHMR is telling me.

I called my caseworker at MHMR this morning. She confirmed she faxed the forms, including the exact time and what fax number to where they were sent. She advised me to call back the practice, and confirm where they were sent. I called the practice back, told the front desk assistant what my particulars, what time the forms were sent and the fax number where they were sent. The front desk assistant did confirm that they were received, and will have the attending physician who did the exam yesterday fill out the forms. I go back this afternoon for a Tuberculosis test, and have to return in 48 -72 hours to have that test "read".

The TB test is easy, if it happens to be positive, don't worry.. there are a lot of folks who have been exposed at one time or another.. including yours truly.

I did something today I have not done in almost 27 years : I got my soprano clarinet, a vintage 1937 Penzel-Mueller Artiste series clarinet, out of the case, assembled it, and started exercising my embrochure. Now that I don't have family complaining about the noise (and nobody here at the motel has complained (yet)) maybe now ir's time to get back to my roots. It's going to to take a few weeks to get my embrochure back into shape (not that it was the greatest in the first place, since my jaw structure is more conducive to bass clarinet or saxophone. Maybed in a few months, I'll try to start teaching again.

Hay awrighttt, now you're thinking! You gave lessons?

Ive just started walking short distances (to the Food Lion and back). With regular unledaded gas at $3.80 per gallon, I'm not doing any short distance driving unless the weather is bad, or it is too humid to do anything outside.

Glad to hear you do not need to use your car to shop.. you are right, any saving of that resource is great. Not to mention more healthy.

1346260031[/url]' post='30760']

Ive just started walking short distances (to the Food Lion and back). With regular unledaded gas at $3.80 per gallon, I'm not doing any short distance driving unless the weather is bad, or it is too humid to do anything outside.

Glad to hear you do not need to use your car to shop.. you are right, any saving of that resource is great. Not to mention more healthy.

About 32 years ago. I never had many students, mostly because I had issues with most of the band directors, save 2. Lets just say my methods, influenced by the faculty at the time where I was trying to get my teacher certification, were unorthodox. I'm also a bit of a perfectionist, and can be a bit hard to deal with, especially if the student doesn't want to practice. Parents will usually freak if I want to switch a mouthpiece on a student, from the stock mouthpiece that comes with a horn, which is usually junk to begin with, to a mouthpiece and reed combination the student will have a lot of success with.

History:

1995--Prozac--Quit CT by GP

1995--Effexor--Quit per my GP

1996--Amitriphene--Quit CT when changed GP

2005--Citalopram and BusPar. Prescribed when I decompensated in my GP's office. GP referred me to behavior health. Psychiatrist prescibed these drugs. Taken off citalopram in 2011 due to FDA warning. Quit Buspar during transition to viibryd.

Viibryd--2011 to present. Had a severe reaction in March 2012. Advised both GP and Psychiatrist I was trying to get off these drugs.

What I don't understand is why your parents did not help you get disability.. or other forms of help 15 or 20 years ago. Gosh, what a pickle you are in and all this suffering is so unnecessary. I know it makes no difference now, or maybe it does given the incomprehensible response from your brothers.

Just a hunch, but I think you are going to thrive being out from under the oppressive influence of your brother.

After 27 years, what prompted you to take this step?

Not having people (or the dogs) complain about me getting the horn out to practice. When I moved back to PA in 1991, Mom had already moved to Spring Garden Township from the southern part of the county. I tried playing briefly, with a local concert band that was a union shop, but was too overwhelmed still with Dad's passing still fresh in my memory. Besides, the neighbors complained every time I got the horn out and started practicing, just like they did when my youngest brother was stll living at home, and would get out his acoustic guitar to practice. The rest of the family was never too keen on me going into music to begin with, unless I could teach their kids for free. I learned the hard way, with a distant relative: NEVER take on family as a student. Besides, I fought with most of the band directors in the area back in that time. Most of them are now either dead or retired.

While I still have problems with carpal tunnel, not having used my Mac Mini for a while (even though I got it out of storage yesterday and have it set up in my motel room, since the method book I was planning to use is stored on the hard drive.), my wrist seems to be not as numb, since I've been doing a lot of typing on either my iPhone or iPad.

What else can go wrong today? I get up at 9:00 AM, go to the bathroom, flush the toilet when I'm done, and the toilet almost overflows. I go to copy some songs from my iPhone to my computer so I can split the contents of those recordings in Audacity, those files are no where to be found. I go out to my car, since I need to take some items back to Best Buy, the car won't start. Fortunately, there's a car parts store up the street about 1/2 mile. I trudge up there, buy a new battery, as well as terminal cleaner. I install the new battery, THE *^%}#%|#}% CAR STILL WON'T START!!!!!! Either the starter got wet, cosidering the storms we had here last night, or I need a new starter. WHY ME? This does not bode well for next Friday, when I have to be in Harrisburg for Social Security Disability hearing. I may yet end up living on the street. My brothers are right, I am a loser who doesn't deserve anything!

Hi meister… Sounds like you sure have had a go round with all the small disasters. Not a pleasant day, for sure. But don't generalize today’s bumps to your SSDI hearing. To the contrary, they support your need for disability and if the judge asks to speak to you, commenting on the difficulties you have meeting the requirements of everyday would be reasonable.

You do not deserve the fate your brothers would consign you to. You are better than that… much better. I hope you get some good news from one of your church connections soon.

at least 2 things have gone right today: I got a call from the garage that my car was finished at 9:00am this morning, and Wellspan finkally got the forms filled out and faxed back to my caseworker at MHMR. Now to wait for the call from Bell Socialization Services.

At least the new starter didn't cost me an arm and a leg. Total cost with towing and new battery: $280.66 including labor for the starter, $61.00 for the tow, and $77.00 for a new battery, even though the old one was still working, I'm not sure how old it was. Besides, some of the cells in the old batter were almost dry, so it was probably time to replace it.

Now to call OVR and have them request my records from MHMR, then my attorney to see what records they need yet for my Social Security Disability Hearing. I then need to call my sister-in-law on the south end of town to see if my sewing is finished.

I also stopped by my church this afternoon, to pick up my mail. I ran into the organist as I was entering the building. He asked me to come back to the choir room. As I was heading back to the choir room, the secretary saw me, and gave me my mail. As I was headed back to the choir room, the organist, gave me an envelope, stating it was from the choir at thervice I sing in. It is not much, but they were willing to help. He asked again when my hearing was to be help, and I said September 14th. He replies, that's Holy Cross Day on the liturgical calendar, that should bode well for you. I'm here yes, but it still is in the hands of the judge, since my attorney and I will not know who that will be until the hearing commences.

I am waiting for a callback from my attorney's paralegal, since there was a form to be filled out that I never received, no thanks to my brother destroying all mail addressed to me at his house. If I'm lucky, those forms will be on Social Security's Web Site.

That's so kind of the choir, meister. So loving.

I've been with them intermittently since 1977. The soprano soloists and I are probably the only remaining people in the 11:00 AM Service choir that moved from center city to the suburbs 17 years ago. I haven't performed much lately, but they know the issues I've had. They knew I was giving most of my salary, when I was still a paid soloist, to mom to help with her bills. They knew that whenever I needed a grocery card, it was usually for mom, since she would never ask for help, even from her own congregation, the church I grew up in, and the church I left when most of that congrgation told me I was going to hell in a handbasket because I preferred, Bach, Beethoven and Brahms, over Lowell Mason and Fanny Crosby. The pastor of her congregation, when she died was more receptive of what I could do than any of the previous pastors. I was the one that contacted her pastor when she needed help paying her Medicare Part D Premiums. If I ever get straightened out from my situation, and get off these psychtropic drugs, I might be doing more solo work.

So much for celebrating my birthday today... The only thing that went right was doing my wash. I've been recording my Los to my iPhone, and as usual, every time the phone company sends a sync signal, it screws up the recording thatI can't filter out the noise. I got rid of all my old stereo equipment, since I don't know where I'll end up, drove to Harrisburg to pick up a cheap USB turntable, which I found out when I got back to my room doesn't work with the Mac at all, even when running Windows under Boot Camp, had to run to WalMart to pick up an external USB DVD drive, dice the cd that contained the drivers for the turntable is on a 3 in cd, which my Mac mini will not accept (it's optical drive is a slot loader that doesn't play nice with the smaller discs), the external DVD drive doesn't like anything, I take it back, to Walmart and forgot the receipt, etc. Finally said enough is too much, turned on TV to BBC America, watched Star Trek, The Next Generation rerun of the Relics Episode, where Jimmy Doohan reprises his role as Scotty. Ended up crying through most of that episode, as feeling useless is exactly how I am feeling right now... Everything is closing in on me again, as usual, and if I were at home, I'd get the royal biotchout treatment, yet if I were to say anything about anyone else's excessive spending, I'd be accused of starting World War III. Any wonder everything I do wrong is a major catastrophe?

I think you are being too hard on yourself. You are doing things ... that is significant when healing from these drugs. You are getting out and attempting to enable yourself to have the music you love readily available on your phone. Ok, so it didn't go well. And that is just about allowing yourself to heal enough so that you can cope with set backs.

Can't you attempt to return the items to Walmart on another day when you do have the receipt (and you do have the energy to deal with it?)

I think it is good news that you were in a safe place where you could have a meltdown and no one would give you a hard time for it. It is ok ... sometimes it is overwhelming to deal with obstacle after obstacle.

Sorry I missed your birthday ... but belated warm wishes for a better year ahead.

Love and light,

I did finally find that receipt. The East York Walmart is on my way to church (since I also wanted to stop at a Sheetz convience store for breakfast, which is usually 2 bagels with margarine and a pint of milk), I took the drive back at that time. I didn't stay at church very long, since I'm having my annual pain in my right side problem.

I did go on Facebook yesterday, something I rarely do nowadays, and got 2 birthday wishes: 1 from my youngest brother (the only brother I'm on speaking terms with), and the other from a college marching band buddy (who is also a fellow music fraternity brother and recently retired as a high school band director). I let this guy know what happened to me. I also let my youngest brother know he is the only one in the family that remembered my birthday, considering the attitude of the other brothers.

I went out for lunch this afternoon to a local ice cream emporium/luncheonette, since this place is the only place that knows how to make one of my favorite PA Dutch Specialties, chicken corn soup. I got back to my room, and saw a message from my attorney. He wants to see me tomorrow at noon, rather than 1 PM. I call back his paralegal, and confirmed that change. Since I also have an appointment with my therapist tomorrow morning, I'll just ask for my results for the Weschler and ADOS scores at that time, make copies, and stop by OVR and hand a copy to my caseworker before I head downtown to my attorney's office.

History:

1995--Prozac--Quit CT by GP

1995--Effexor--Quit per my GP

1996--Amitriphene--Quit CT when changed GP

2005--Citalopram and BusPar. Prescribed when I decompensated in my GP's office. GP referred me to behavior health. Psychiatrist prescibed these drugs. Taken off citalopram in 2011 due to FDA warning. Quit Buspar during transition to viibryd.

Viibryd--2011 to present. Had a severe reaction in March 2012. Advised both GP and Psychiatrist I was trying to get off these drugs.
