@Chlo My depression and anxiety went away once I was healed. I still have normal emotions of happiness and sadness, but not the chemical caused depression or anxiety. It has all faded away with time. Just remember that no matter what symptoms you are experiencing, they are all temporary and will fade with time. No matter what comes your way, just know you have the strength to make it through. Keep hanging in there, you've got this!

@KenA thank you very much for your encouraging words, they mean so much! I remember when all this started 2 years ago, I said I can't do this for 3 more months, then I said I can't do this for a year, now it's been 2 years and im still fighting with my sword and shield in hand. Actually, Gods full armor ♥️ i dont leave home without it. This life is so tough, but knowing I have all you survivors in my life helps me to get through. I'm currently fighting a head cold...this east Texas fall season is torment. Wishing you and yours a great weekend, God bless!

@Chlo I’m dealing with a sinus/ear Infection also. I been flushing sinuses, but I guess too much for sinuses to handle. I tried not to take antibiotics also but second dr visit they convinced me.

It’s really dry here. Ragweed everywhere. I can’t remember ever having a sinus infection much less an ear infection. But doc said it was. The difference this year is dizziness when getting out of bed in morning. After the dizziness I decided I wasn’t going to wait it out any longer.

I started the cedfinir today

Get well soon !

@Heath how's the ear infection, hopefully healing. I am just now starting my antibiotic. I waited to see if my homeopathic garlic drops would work...well it was going good until my allergies kicked in. So just now starting the Cefdinir.

Have you had any negative reactions with the Cefdinir?

I cried so much yesterday while visiting my husband's graveside. I honestly think that what set the sinus pressure off. I couldn't breathe through my nose for the next 2 hours.

Anyway, I hope your having a wonderful weekend, take care, and God bless!

@Altostrata yes, ma'am! I will start the antibiotic if I don't feel it's getting better. Have a blessed week 💚

@Altostrata I'm starting the Cefdinir today. I was doing ok until I sat at cemetery on the lawn for an hour, then my allergies took over. My doctor recommended I start using Flonase, but because its a steroid I dont want to mess with it ramping up my nervous system. Is it ok to take Claritin or Benedryl?

@Greatful @Altostrata

Today was a very trying day. My strength was tested beyond measure.

This morning while in church I started feeling shortness of breath and couldn't seem to calm myself down. As I walked out into the foyer, I passed out onto the floor. Several church members came to help me and the EMS took me to hospital. All tests came back normal. I know it was from severe anxiety and panic attack. I am a shallow breather and forget how to breath. I do breathing exercises, but I feel they don't always help. It was such a frantic situation when church members, my children and grandchildren, ems, and doctors just looked at you while trying to explain my ssri wd symptoms and tapering. I feel like they all just wanted to ask why can't I be on something to help with my anxiety and panic.

The ER doctor did however say that she has watched documentaries on ssri withdrawals. She prescribed me hydroxyzine, but I refuse to take it. I took some Ltheanine. Do you think the antibiotic Cefdinir that I've been taking for the past 8 days for my ear infection could be the cause for an uptick in anxiety and panic symptoms? Should I finish the last 2 days of antibiotic or would it be ok to stop now? Also...can you give me the link to help with panic attacks, please.

Thank you ♥️

@Heath thank you! I am currently on my 8th day of Cefdinir. However, it may be the cause of my heightened anxiety and panic attacks. I ended up in the er after passing out in church this morning. I know if was from my anxiety and panic. I am a shallow breather and forget how to breath. I'm just wondering if I can stop the last 2 days of taking it. The extra anxiety is more than I can bare. I am staying away from steroids! Take care, God bless!

Citalopram 10mg (2018-Present - Attempted to stop taking in Aug 22, but got WD - Thought it was 'relapse') 5 months 22 from Sep to Jan Venlafaxine)

Back to 10mg Citalopram -as thought would be easier to stop than Venlaxine
Fast Taper off Citalopram (didn't know about WD) late June to Mid July 23. CT'd until late Sep 23, Stupidly took 3 Days 10mg fluoxetine on Dr advice, intended to taper as soon a stable. Dr said Fluox easier to taper( akathasia reaction) Stopped fluox about 26/9/23. 29/9/23.Reinstated at 2.5mg Citalopram. Holding until stable to taper off. 14/11/23 Reduced to 2.375mg because felt akathasia. Holding until stable.

@ChloJust remember that when you are in a bad wave, the wave will lie to you. It will tell you that it's never going to pass and you will feel bad forever. But just remember the truth of the windows. The truth is that the waves always pass at some point and you will feel good again! This wave will pass like all of the ones before! Just hang in there and let this wave of healing take place and KNOW that this is just a symptom of healing. The waves are just symptoms of healing! Let it flow and ride it out :) You've got this!

2011 - CT Quit Tramadol

@Chlo hi windows are coming. Nothing stays constant. You will feel better. Sending hope and prayers.

1993 started 20mg Prozac.

2008 switched to 10mg of lexapro.

2015 added 50mg of Wellbutrin. Between 2015 and 2020 raised and lowered dosage of both. 2021 moved to Zoloft for one month then back to lexapro for one month. Then switched to 60mg cymbalta for four months. Then Basically cold turkeyed off cymbalta in two weeks using Prozac as a crossover med to reduce withdrawals. Not good. Then had Nortriptylene added to Prozac. Was on 20mg Prozac and 50mg of Nortriptylene for four months. Then did a four month ween off Nortriptylene. To date have been off cymbalta for approximately 11 months and Nortriptylene 7 weeks.  Presently taking 12.5 mg Prozac. Also taking 10 mg of bystolic for BLood Pressure. I’m not sure how the Prozac makes me feel. It does nothing to make me feel not sad and anxious at times. I finally figured out the meds are not what I need. What I need is to get off the 12.5mg of Prozac and continue to work on my stuff. Any help is deeply appreciated thank you. Reduced from 12.5 to 10 then from 10 to 7.5. Too much of a drop. Bought a scale and went to 9. Stabilized and went to 8.2 oct 1, 2022. Just got hit with wicked low mood, high anxiety, fatigue, chills. The anxiety is high in the AM and  lessons throughout the day. Hoping to stabilize soon

Dear @Chlo, so sorry to hear that you’re in a bad wave. I know when we are in a wave it can feel like the wave is never going to end. I’ve had those feelings myself, but no matter how bad the waves were they always ended. The windows and waves pattern is our brain trying really hard to heal itself.

Do you have any distractions you can use when waves are bad?  I’ve done lots of colouring in, diamond pages, doing tv series marathons etc just to distract myself. All things that don’t take a lot of brain power. I’ve cranked up the music too for distraction too.

I know it can be scary too waking up first thing in the morning when in a massive wave. I always make sure to switch the light on straight away and do something to distract myself, so I don’t end up just lying there and getting even more distressed.

You will end up in a window again. It would be great to know when these waves ended as it would make them more tolerable, but just knowing they do end can give us some comfort.

Sending hugs your way🤗

@Chlo What times o'clock do you take your drugs, with their dosages? Have you skipped any doses lately?

Hello @Altostrata

I haven't changed anything, nor have I skipped any doses.

7:30am-awake with high cortisol, anxiety, breathless, panic, sadness, no appetite, belching a lot

8:30am-Lexapro 1.11mg, Breathless, panic, sadness, belching.

10:30am-cottage cheese w/pears, Vitamin C, heaviness, sadness, breathless, belching, nausea

2:30pm-half sandwich, Magnesium Glycinate, Omega3, panic, sluggish.

3:30-5:30pm-sluggish, sadness, fear, belching

5:30pm- Omega3, Magnesium Glycinate

7pm- gonna try to eat something, anxiety has lifted some, tension.

I take my Mirtazapine at 10pm. When it kicks in around 11pm it makes me hungry and I eat something small, then go to sleep.

I pretty much have the sadness, heaviness, panic, belching and fear all day...for the longest time it would be gone in the evenings.

But starting a week ago it is all lingering into the night as well.

I'm just wondering if I was to start back my tapering ,if it would help. I've been holding for almost 3 weeks.

It seems that when I would taper in the past..I would get a semi window the next day. I know symptoms change...I just haven't had these symptoms in over a year (bloating, belching, loss of appetite, nausea).

Should I resume my taper?

Thank you @KenA for the reminder! You would think that after doing this for 2 years I would remember this. I haven't had belching, bloating, nausea, in a very long time...but i guess it can also rear its ugly head again and again. Im down to 1.11mg and scared to continue. However, I know I need to in order to get off these meds. I've been pretty functional over the past year, but atm I feel like I could just fall into a manic state or pass out from not breathing normal. I'm a shallow breather and I tend to hyperventilate.

The suffering just SUCKS!!!

I am grateful to have y'all on this site, y'all make each minute, hour, day worth pushing through. It's nice knowing someone cares 🤗

Thank you @Carmie I try to keep busy, but here lately the weather has been wet and drury with no sunshine. So i havent been able to take my walks. The more i sit still, the more my mind wondering and its hard to get out of my head. Plus not having an appetite worries me. I drink plenty of water, but its causing me bloating and belching. This time of year is so hard, I miss my husband and dad. The groundhog day effect really gets to me. But...I've made it this far and I know I will make it to the end. I just need encouragement that my family seems to forget.

Thank you for responding to my post. Btw.....my ex-husband is Australian native, he lives in Mildura, Victoria. We have a daughter together, she lives in the states. She and I lived in Australia for 4 months. Visited Adelaide, chased kangaroos in the bush, water skiing on the Murray River. It's a beautiful country ❤️

@Chlo  I  can relate to how awful this can be at times.  You are getting so low on the Lex.  Way to go girl.

As Ken says, our thoughts from the depression are lying to us.....I know, I know,  it super hard  to ignore them but try to stay in the day/moment and let the time pass....Remember this feels really awful but it is not going to hurt you.....You are stronger then you think, you have already proven this.

@Chlo  I feel like our brain is always healing, trying to find homeostasis.   If you are having  adr your brain will continue to try  find homeostasis  but is also fighting the drug.   You and I are in a tough  situation.    I think Altra felt you where have adr from the Lex?    Your activation,  stimulation  should be coming down as you decrease the Lex but sadly you'll still have withdrawal symptoms.  I know my agitation and restlessness has been getting  better as I go down on the Lexapro.    The really hard and frustrating  part of getting  off these drugs is the guessing game,   we all react in our own special way.   Maybe someone  with more knowledge  can help you out more with this.

Chlo. You are doing a super great job working your way through this.  This time of the year is hard for many of us. Also you are also still grieving  the loss of your husband. That makes this time of the year even  harder.  Give yourself as much self care and love as you can.  Stay in the day.  Do what ever helps you to stay focused on getting by one minute, one hour one day at a time.

Keep reaching out, I hear you and validate  your worry, fear and pain.

Sending a big hug and encouragement.

@Chlo hi my friend I would also love to hear from some moderators on this subject. I personally believe we are healing as we come down. I think our brains have to adjust as the drug leaves. Whatever timing it takes to do this is anyone’s guess. I too am experiencing symptoms as I drop. Our med use timelines are similar as well. I pray for us all to be out from under this torture of getting off psych meds.
