Hello all --

I don't come on here as often as I used to. I heard that the site will be taken down, and wanted to stop in and give a big thanks to those of you who have followed my story and who have given me advice during the time. I hope that there will still be the ability to write a success story. If so, I promise I'll be back. :)

XOXO Love and prayers to all of you!

Medicated at age 7. Many med changes (over 20). Tapered off Xanax in 2018.

Sunflower that is wonderful to hear!  Keep up the good work!

The site will not be taken down. There’s a reorganization going on in the background and starting on January 1 we will be limiting registrations to 20 or to 30 people per week.

Update - two more drops until single digits. I will then be on the least amount of meds I’ve been on since the age of 7.

I joined a workout class near my home and try to attend atleast three times a week. I also have been going to yin yoga 1-2 times a week. I am doing much better than I have done in years.

I feel anxious to taper quicker because I want to have a child, but I know that would not be safe or smart. I’ll keep going slowly.  My biggest symptom now is worrying that the pain and suffering I experienced for so many years will return as I get lower. I pray the worst is over.

slow and steady 🤞🏻🤍

That’s great news!!! So happy that you are doing better.  Moderate exercise has been a game changer for me too.

I understand wanting to taper faster.  I battle with that myself.  Slow and steady is the way.   You’ve almost reached 10 mg which is half of your original dose 🥳
Reaching single digits is a huge milestone!

I’m doing alright, can’t complain too much.  I’m always cold and can only eat like 10 foods lol.   It could always be worse, so I’m trying to not complain.
I’ve been experimenting with low doses of NAD via IV infusion on a monthly basis.  It’s seems to help me a bit.  It was a risk I was willing to take.

I haven’t dropped again in about a month but I’m have a super bizarre symptom. I’m not sure if it’s from the tapering?

I’m not sure if this is nerve pain or what I’m experiencing. I’m not like numb— it’s like a shock / buzzing sensation in my legs arms and back then my vision freezes for a second like it’s stuck. Does anyone know what this is or how to help? It’s been going on for about four days now

I really believe that the worst is over, if you taper very carefully, especially at the end.  At the end, I tapered even more slowly and carefully, and only did a reduction when I had been stable for 2 weeks.  Often, I needed to wait 6-8 weeks, which was fine.  The end of my taper was much easier than when I first came in here after I had been tapering way too fast.

In a bit of a wave at the moment. Holding steady until I feel a bit better, than continuing my slow and small taper.

Hi Sunflower, I just read a bunch of your thread. It must feel great to be almost in the single digits. Congrats!

Olanzapine (5mg) started June 2023 - This is the only drug I'm currently taking, haven't used any other psych drugs.

After 4 weeks dropped to 2.5mg for 5 days then dropped to 1.25mg for 3 days, withdrawals commenced. I then took a single dose of 3.75mg. Then went to 2.5mg. since July 19

Hoping to hold at 2.5mg  and GODWILLING I will STABILIZE.

I can't tell WD symptoms from Long Covid symptoms. I think a bit of both, and I think my quick earlier taper has made the LC symptoms worse ... what to do.

Update: Sept 28 2023: -2.5%   Oct 5: -2.5%   Oct 12: -2.5%   Oct 19: -5%   Oct 29: -5%   Nov 10: -5%  2.0mg  Nov 20:  -5%  1.9mg  Nov 30:  -5%  1.8mg  Dec 12:  1.75mg   Dec 22: 1.70mg

Dec 29: 1.65mg Jan 06/24: 1.60mg  Jan 14: 1.55mg Jan 25: 1.50mg   Feb 12: Updose to 1.55mg    Apr 25: 1.50mg

(percentage drops are from previous dose)

Still in a bad wave hanging out at 10mg. Hoping it ends soon. Does anyone know if 1% weekly tapering would be easier than the 3-4% I’m doing every 3-4 weeks?

Does anyone have resources to learn how to remember that these times will pass and are temporary when in a wave? When you are in it, it seems like it is permanent and will never end. (even though I know it will, it is all consuming!).

Does anyone know if tapering 3-4-% or 1-1.5% every week-2 weeks is better for symptoms? I want to minimize withdrawal effects as much as possible

Yes, tapering smaller amounts more frequently is easier.

I would suggest you consider micro tapering.  With this, you only taper a tiny bit, but do it more frequently.  It is gentler on the nervous system.

Micro Taper Instead of 10 or 5% Decreases

With my syringe I can cut by .1mg or .05mg. Which one of these would be considered microtapering? How often should I do this?

@getofflex ill take a photo when I get home of the syringe and bottle. I lowered by .05mg and I feel pretty similar symptoms 3 days in as I did doing .3mg drops. Is this normal? If they are the same I imagine doing a bigger drop is smarter?

It won’t let me upload a photo but it’s 5MG/ML. i have 3mL syringe and 1mL syringe

So far this drop of .05mg feels the same as .3mg... maybe it won't last as long? do some people have the same reaction to drops even if one is much smaller?

The thing is, there are so many other factors that can affect how we feel.  So, you feeling as bad with a smaller reduction could have been caused by something other than the drug reduction.  I would not use the logic that if I felt as bad with a .05 mg drop, then I might as well do a bigger drop.  We want to err on the side of caution!  Personally, if I were in your shoes, I would do the micro tapering.  It is gentler on the system.  But, if you are having significant symptoms, I would not continue to reduce - I would hold until you have had some stability for a couple of weeks.  Slow and steady wins the race.
