So I had another bad night and day, my heart feels like its pounding really hard, not always fast and I've been feeling like my temperature keeps going hot(more) and then cold. I also started to feel more off balance and a bit short of breath when standing today so had to call my Dr to get checked over. They did another ECG which she said was perfect and my echo from 2 weeks ago was also good she said. It's been 6 days and it feels like it's getting worse and if this is a wave I can't think of anything that's caused it and it's by far the worst in a good few months.

Sorry to hear. How are you doing today? I am glad you got checked and your heart is fine. I remember getting those symptoms and they were scary Sometimes for me were related to gut reactions. Let le know how you are 💖

Yes I'm still struggling but the Low FODMAP diet and working on my sleeo helps. My massage therapist does Reiki (energy medicine). It helps my sleep quality and this really helps my digestion.

@Tigz91 You may be having reactive hypoglycemia, which is a sudden drop in blood sugar after eating certain foods.

Reactive hypoglycemia? Low blood sugar and symptoms

How to Treat Reactive Hypoglycemia

Even people who never had blood sugar problems before withdrawal have reported these sudden drops in blood sugar during withdrawal.

Alcohol, sugar, processed foods, simple carbs, and caffeine are all linked to increases in symptoms for many people going through withdrawal.

You may want to keep a food diary to see if you can pinpoint foods that cause this reaction and then eliminate them from your diet. You can google for tips on how to manage hypoglycemia / low blood sugar.

Yes, if it's related to withdrawal, it will fade out along with the other symptoms. If you can improve things by working with your diet, that's always best. Many of us find that withdrawal forces us to eat cleaner than we ever have before and because withdrawal takes so long, those habits become enduring life-long habits, leading to a much happier and healthier life, even after withdrawal goes away.

The modern diet tends to not be very healthy. Going back to the way humans ate before fast food and processed food is a very good step in the right direction of being able to live drug free.

You may feel upticks in symptoms as you go through withdrawal from the caffeine and other ingredients in the energy drink, but that will pass and you may even find yourself feeling calmer and more peaceful in time.

Just a thought.

So last week after being on a semi strict low histamine diet for 9 months I tried to reintroduce lactose free milk and some foods I've not had in a while and for the last 4 days I've been in a bad flare. Hives everywhere really itchy akin and just that tight uncomfortable feeling again. I'm now back to the strict diet but now just a little depressed this is here forever. I'm now thinking maybe a DAO supplement might help and also thinking could this be SIBO or candida that I need to get tested for? Anyone had the same?

So I'm still really struggling with hundreds of physical symptoms 11 months off. Life is just not the same anymore and I physically feel like I'm going through hell day to day, now I am having different readings of blood pressure on each arm. Not even by a little margin. My left was 107/82 and right 132/83. I saw my doctor yesterday and he said yea there's a difference but I've had an echocardiogram and CT and scans of my heart so he's not concerned.

Is there any info where this could possibly be withdrawal related?

Hi Alto,

A little bit but my main concern if honest is that I have an underlying autoimmune disorder. All my symptoms just feel like my body is attacking itself. I don't really get windows but just hours or minutes of feeling semi okay. Is there any sections which on this site that I can read in regards to people having symptoms that mimic autoimmune conditions.

The catalog of withdrawal symptoms probably has a 100% overlap with the catalog of autoimmune symptoms. We identify withdrawal symptoms from drug chronology.

So I’ve just passed a year being off antidepressants and the main symptom that still seems to bother me is I have a constant high heart rate and can feel it even when just sitting. I notice it also pounds really hard and I was hoping this would have settled down. I’ve had loads of heart test which have come back perfect but it doesn’t make it any less uncomfortable. Anyone else have a similar issue? I’ve thought about POTs but cardiologist doesn’t believe so.

I'm about 7 months off and still experiencing this as well. I have days where it will be normal, and then days where it will act up again and pound. But, I'm also dealing with some adrenal fatigue, so it's in line with that.

Sorry to hear you’re struggling with this too, I am also dealing with adrenal fatigue. My heart rate is always between 85-100 but can be at 100+ just at rest. This is nearly everyday and there’s times it feels like it’s even beating faster than the numbers I get. I hate that I can always feel

Mine used to do this also, but is now normal at rest. It jumps from 65ish to high 90's-100 while walking around though, which is not normal for me. The other thing I've noticed is it takes a while to regulate, like if I run up the stairs or do something quick, it takes a while to go down again. If you know it's an adrenal issue, you could try adrenal cocktails. I've had moderate success with them, but if you do try it, just ensure you're drinking sufficient amounts of water. I hear you though, I hate feeling the pounding.

Yes unfortunately still chest pains and loads of other physical symptoms. I wonder if maybe some part is down to adrenal fatigue as I know that effects heart and blood pressure.

So I’m now just about to be 13 months off and what I’ve really started to struggle with is severe chronic fatigue. I would I’ve had it the whole time but lately it’s really bad and I’ve also noticed I sometimes get a feeling like my sugar levels are dropping.

I’ve started seeing a nutritionist and can now eat more foods without getting any hives( if I eat a reasonable portion) which is good.

Citalopram 10mg sep14-nov14,

no taper cold turkey

I've been struggling with chronic fatigue as well since completing my taper 8 months ago. Some days it's so bad, I really have no choice but to lay down again. I've been slowly trying to build up my reserves with some supplementation and other things.

I started a B-complex, vitamin C and rhodiola, and I drink adrenal cocktails, which seem to help with low blood pressure/high heart rate. I didn't start them all at the same time though - I tapered on to each supplement slowly. There's been negligible improvement, but I think I may have low cortisol, rather than high at the moment. I'm planning to have my cortisol levels checked through my naturopath. The fatigue is actually quite debilitating at times, but I'm finding ways to manage it the best I can. And of course, I'm hopeful that it will pass :)

Yes, this could certainly be low blood sugar. It looks like you've been dealing with some sensitivities? Are you able to eat small meals throughout the day?

I might give these a go because the high heart rate is something I really struggle with.

Yes I had really bad food sensitivities too and actually lost a huge amount of weight. I’m recently started eating small regular meals to se if that helps.

I'm about 7 months off and still experiencing this as well. I have days where it will be normal, and then days where it will act up again and pound. But, I'm also dealing with some adrenal fatigue, so it's in line with that.

What is your heart rate? Is it high all the time?

I also have adrenal fatigue. I have high cortisol, I also have hypothyroidism. I also have an elevated heart rate, adrenaline spikes and sometimes feel off balance, on a boat feeling. I'm 10 months off and these symptoms start getting really about about 2-3 months ago, before that the depression, anxiety, dp/dr was worst.

  • 2010-Present: Armour Thyroid (synthetic sometimes, can't remember when or what but mostly on Armour)
  • 2014-2017: Paroxetine (Paxil) 30mg; tapered per Doctor's instructions.
  • 3/25/2019: Started Fluoxetine (Prozac) 20mg.
  • 8/18/2020 - 10/15/2020: Switched to Bupropion (Wellbutrin) 300mg, had adverse effects.
  • 10/16/2020: Reinstated Fluoxetine 20mg.
  • 7/2020: CT off Fluoxetine per Doctor's instructions.
  • 8/2020: Reinstated Fluoxetine 20mg.
  • 8/2022 - 1/2023: Linear taper 10% reduction every 2 weeks.
  • Currently 11 months off Fluoxetine.
