Thank you so much for caring and stopping by..........As you all know this can get lonely and hard at times......Then you worry about posting because you have nothing positive in the attitude department.........

What a ride......I think it is stabilizing out 🙄 You hate to say it because it could change as quick as by the time I am done posting lol   I had a pretty nice Sunday last week.....  Hubby and I went for a long drive, out for lunch and a stop at my daughter house, visited with her, her hubby and see my grandchildren, was there for almost 2 hours.......Got a little over stimulated but ended up having a okay evening.  Up and down since then.  🎢      The last few evenings have been okay.......       Gives one hope. but I tend to get my hopes up and think okay we are on our way out of this hole.  But the wave hits again 🌊.  The depth and length of the middle of the wave is not as dark.....If that makes,  I can cycle through phases in days or even the same day  .....to feel a total window and no brain burning/squishing hurting, no electricity in the body or restless panic would be a dream😚  How can you go from feeling so close to normal when you go to bed and wake up at 4am with brain disconnect, panic anxiety, near jumping out of your skin, not sure who you are/ dr UGH,.

hardwork .........We thought that I could have Bi-polar 2  We were grasping at straws as to why I have so much underline anxiety, restlessness and hyper spells, This was back in around 2015-16  still but as I look back I think I was have over stimulation and mild mania from the ssri's......I am really excited and nervous  to see how things go when I get off.........I've been on so long over 20 years I don't know how I will be or who I am,  lol.....

Greatful xx

It is not weird or uncommon, actually it is very common when dealing with anxiety disorder or mostly of all WD.

Anxiety in the morning / early morning is very common and has been attributed to cortisol elevations which fluctuate throughout the day.

Cortisol is a natural substance released in the brain that helps people function, although people with no problems like this, don't feel it, while we do.

Cortisol starts rising at 3am, reaches its peak at 8am, and then gradually declines and reaches a low at midnight.
This is also tight to your own circadian rhythm, that means if you have a "unusual" sleep schedule and put yourself late to sleep every day, the hours mentioned above are shifted, but it happens in the same manner.

@Kat66  Not so good..... Had a few rough days.......Something must be happening in my brain, I can only hope it's going to open to a window........

Have you ever had SI thoughts? Very hopeless and  low mood..  Some DP/DR   Something crazy is going on with my muscles. Weak, achy, cold in my arms and legs.  Plus buzzing/tingling that makes everything feel really weird....I mean how do you have achy shin bones...I think I could handle things better if my brain didn't like a hunk is missing and it's being picked up by a claw and squeezed, and  tinging like my arms and legs.....I think with half a brain and that part isn't even fully working......Burning eye's too.  It let's up and comes back UGH.  Oh yeah the paranioa/fear is the worst.  I have that like you have the anger/and emotional blunting.

I see that you have been on drugs about as long as I have.......You CT'd and seem to be doing better then me when I was put on Lex and still have to stabilize.

The window is right around the corner RIGHT😬

@Greatful my heart goes out for you! Ouch! So painful!! Yeah the feeling like things are good then sliding down the slope...yikes...disappointing. I'm all too familiar with that

Your brain has an innate ability to heal. And its healing... slowly but surely... Slow and steady wins the race 😃. I like to look at a year ago where I was and notice the long term progress

I was officially diagnosed bipolar around 2015-2017. Can't wait to be med free and show those 'psych' docs that their life-on-meds prognosis was wrong. Mania definitely side effect of AD. The feeling of not knowing who you are is really upsetting, the loss of 20 years.., You might come out 20 years younger :)

This might be true for you as well- How's your digestion? When I don't go to the bathroom well those are the awful days. Brain-gut connection!

My healing wishes to you greatful! ❤ ❤ We all need you well!

1- October 2011- Wellbutrin. Few months later-Zyprexa. Quite some months later-DepakoteClonapen throughout. November 2014- med free successfully! (Quick doc taper)

2- November 2015- zyprexa (almost sure) May 2015- Lithium 900 mg throughout, carried over to pregnancy and next baby. Currently still on same lithium.

3- June 20, 2017- zyprexa refused. June 21, 2017- forced hospitalization. June 2017- risperdal, lithium raised to 1200.

no memory when-zoloft. Got off risperdal with dr- no clue how fast or when.  June 2018- got off zoloft extremely fast resulting in complete dissociation (total disconnect of body), depression & severe fatigue

Around august 2019- lithium 1050. Lithium 975. Lithium 900. January 11, 2021Lithium 825.

February 5, 2021- Found SA 🌞! February 23, 2021- Compounding natural pharmacy 🙂. May 9, 2021- Lithium 750. August 30, 2021- Lithium 675

(will add in more dates when I figure them out)

June 23, 2022- Started brassmonkey slide 💟 June 23, 2022- Lithium 658

>ALL meds were coerced ILLEGALLY<

CURRENT MEDS- 610 LITHIUM  MG (after 4 week hold. Brass monkey succesful)       CURRENT SUPPLEMENTS- magnesium 350 MG

Have you ever had SI thoughts? Very hopeless and  low mood..  Some DP/DR   Something crazy is going on with my muscles.

Greatful

Real sorry to hear that; my window vanished 5 days ago and i've been in really black despair since so I can only offer your my empathy that I know how awful what you were going through on the 15th and perhaps still are is.  My muscles are spasming all over the place too.  Thankfully if stuff gets really bad I go to a brilliant physio  - the one branch of mainstream medicine that actually helps.   I wish you a lovely window soon.

Currently tapering Mirtazapine; previously tapered Cymbalta 30mg from June 2018-Feb 2019 and Seroquel 150mg to zero from Oct-December 2020.

Supplements for Hashimoto's disease and histamine issues relating to Mirtazapine:   Vitamin D3 1,000mcg, bio-identical HRT, Selenium, Quercetin, Lutein, Zinc, Vitamin C, Omega 3.

Mirtazapine Taper: 2021 16th Aug -  transitioned to liquid from tablet by dissolving two 15mg tablets into a solution of 15 ml water and 15 ml maple syrup on a starting dose of what I thought was 7.5ml; 17 Sept  - 7.31; 24 Sept  - 7.13; 15 Oct  - 6.95; 6 Nov  - 6.78; 21 Nov  - 6.61; 5 Dec  - 6.51;

Following helpful advice from moderator OnMyWay (see her  reply of the 5th March) discovered taper with the dilution was 3.8mg (calculated by dividing 30/33 so that every 1ml of solution has  0.90ml of Mirtazapine.  7.50 - 0.90= 6.6ml which was the starting dose on 16th Aug 2021 not 7.5ml).  I decided to keep using the solution as I didn't want more change to deal with than I had to.

Oh god you're really going through such a crappy time....I'm getting a fluey feeling too, weakness in my limbs and achiness. I thought I had covid or a cold but maybe it's WD. Do you ever get dizziness? I'm getting that at the moment too.  When you say SI thoughts, you mean suicidal ideation? In which case yes! Not for a while now but they are horrible. Are you getting those at the moment? Yeah paranoia/fear; check! Anger; check! I'm dipping back into a wave after my lovely window. I'm praying you have a window soon too. xxx

Hi @Grateful

I thought I would check in and see if you are ok.   I was following you but it seems to have been deleted so I had to add you again.  I see you are posting loads of advice,  support, encouragement to lots of other members but you haven't posted in your own thread for three weeks now so maybe that is good news..... I hope so.

Oh may gosh @Erell you have got my most humbling  support...I can't believe the pain that you have gone through.........I also have not been able to stabilize from winter of 2020-21...It's more then I can comprehend the amount of misery these drugs can cause......Sadly so many of us have a hard time with what I will call "very low moods" andobsessing/ruminating/negative thoughts...... Such emotional pain....If only we could all be together in a nice peaceful setting/ hold each other, encourage each other and healing .....

My days get long and can make me feel sad as I watch life go on around me.  We have to hold on to the hope that one day we will heal just like the others that have made this journey and are living life again♥️........

Me I am going ahead with my taper, I may never stabilize if I am having adverse reaction to the Lex......So I guess I am as well as I am going to be until I get off this drug.........It maybe a bumpy ride but like my hubby calls it I am in WD stable misery.......I do feel better with each cut, that is after I get through the dive into more misery lol....I   noticed that my dives are not as deep  as I felt last spring, summer and this last winter.........I am sure I can speak for you and everyone on here that we wish this could be over and be a very faint/blurry  memory in our minds.......

Again Erell you are an inspiration to me......If Erell can do it so can I♥️

Hi @Greatful Sorry to read you're still having trouble after your recent crossover.  You're right about the amount of misery these drugs can cause.

I'm there with you.  Every day feels like 'I can't believe I made it through today', and then we have to do it again tomorrow.  People have made it through this and I'm sure we will too.

Hi Greatful,

Thank you for your post in my thread. I appreciate your kind and encouraging words of support.

Thank you, too, for sharing your story here, and for all your many helpful contributions site-wide. It means a lot to read your updates and learn from your journey. I admire your tenacity and generosity, and I'm rooting for you!

I wasn't sure whether to reply to you on my thread or here on yours -- how does one usually do it here on SA? I see people tagging each other to address replies directly; I've also read some complaints about over-tagging and requests not to tag, so I'm not sure how best to proceed. Any tips?

Best of luck to you -- with love from a fellow traveler on this long, winding recovery road,

A.

@Ariel

Hi there, thank you for the kind words♥️...

You can post on both places........If you are going into great lengths to share you symptoms (especially for documenting) you should do it on your thread......But we can sure share stores and encouragement on both........We are here to support and try and  hold each other up.

I actually like it when I am tagged, it notifies me that someone is talking to me........I think some mods are a little more tight on there end, which we can understand, they have a lot of people they are trying to help............... If you have something that you need help on with a mod then you will need to decide how soon you need a answer.

So I guess tag members and if anyone does not want to be tagged I would hope they would kindly let you know.

My heart goes out to you.....You are in a lot of pain........Somehow please find away to bust your drive to get through this...........Sometimes I have to go watch some interviews/lectures/ on you tube to get me angry again, reminds me that drugs can be your problem and that most of the time they are not the answer.

or read things on the SA forum in "In the Media"

If you want I can link you to some of the interviews.

Stop by again Ariel😊

Me I am going ahead with my taper, I may never stabilize if I am having adverse reaction to the Lex......So I guess I am as well as I am going to be until I get off this drug.........It maybe a bumpy ride but like my hubby calls it I am in WD stable misery.......I do feel better with each cut, that is after I get through the dive into more misery lol....I   noticed that my dives are not as deep  as I felt last spring, summer and this last winter.........I am sure I can speak for you and everyone on here that we wish this could be over and be a very faint/blurry  memory in our minds.......

Oh dear @Greatful, I know how much what we go through is beyond words, so I don't want to celebrate too much and minimize your suffering, but I am happy to read you: the fact that your dives are not as deep as they were, while you're tapering, is such a great news ❤️

I know all too well the fears and doubts that beset us when we embark on a taper while feeling awful : your strength and determination are very inspiring, thank you for sharing them.

We are going to smile again ☀️🌼

I think you told me once about Baylissa, so I guess you know her words already. Here is some, hoping they'll give you some warm comfort for the day.

Don't give up on your healing. I know it's difficult to remain hopeful because everyday you struggle with the torture of the intense and bizarre symptoms and it seems as if nothing is changing. So I am here to be the rational, "nonwithdrawal" voice in your head and to remind you of the reality : that no matter how long it is taking, this challenge is temporary. One day you will wake up and something will be different. It will be more than a "window", it will be the long-awaited break, the last lap, the finisshing line in view.

Then it will be over, and you will be able to navigate your way out from under the rubble, brush yourself off, pick up the pieces and get on with your life.

What awaits you on the other side is worth you holding on for. Nothing in life will ever again faze you. You will have a different perspective on life, and it won't take much to make you feel content.

So you mentioned in my thread that you are an ultra rapid metabolizer for lexapro, I am guessing that means you are homozygous for the CYP2C19*17/*17 polymorphism? Your genetic report should mention this .

Ahhhh don't say that lol.....I am trying to get off of it.......I think I am having adverse affect......Long story short my hubby claims it blew up my brain when I started it last April.....sadly I tried to stabilize on it but I just couldn't.....So last Sept I started a slow taper.

With each cut I could feel my brain coming back.......It didn't seem to matter if I tapered 1% or 10% the wd was the same.......I held again from Nov. to Feb.  In January I switched to liquid and split the dose and again not much improvement.  I was not having any stability, so I tapered a small amount. I didn't want to post because I wanted no negative comments. But the taper actually gave me some relief and my brain functions better right at the moment. Not saying I would advise anyone to do this, but I felt it was the right thing for me to do. I am hoping like the book  "The Drug May Be Your Problem" claims  by Peter Breggin and David Cohen is right lol  It was try this or try something else.......

So far going okay........I am still having WD symptoms but I can tell something positive is happening.......I feel stronger and more grounded.

You will get better Marta....You are just in the final stages of recovery....Your brain had just a little bit more work to do.....I hope because you have healed so much already that the wave will be short😊 before you know it you will be smiling again♥️

Let me know what I can do to help you.....Send you links on these drugs......I am sure you are well adverse in coping skills.....What will give you the boast to keep going?

We can do this, yes we can♥️

Greatful,

How are you feeling since your last drop? It looks like you find some relief as you taper, is that continuing?

Are you still doing yoga? Have you found anything enjoyable to occupy your time?

I get out in my garden and/or do yard work and go for gentle walks. It does help in that it makes the day pass but doesn’t really take my mind off my symptoms.

I hope today is bringing you some relief and peace.

Thought I'd drop by and see how you are feeling?

Liquid Lexapro Nov, 2016 to 31-March, 2019 Lexapro free!!! (total Lexapro taper was 4 years-started with pill form)

---CURRENT MEDICATIONS:Supplements:Milk Thistle, Metamucil, Magnesium Citrate, Vitamin D3, Levothyroxine 25mcg, Vitamin C, Krill oil.

Xanax 1mg 3x day June, 2000 to 19-September, 2020 Went from .150 grams (average weight of 1 Xanax) 3x day to .003 grams 3x day. April 1, 2021 went back on 1mg a day. Started tapering May 19, 2023. @Frogie  Sadly I am in a rough spot..........My symptoms are about the same-except I have some added ones that are crazy---My gums get so irritated at times- it feels like I was just at the dentist and had my teeth cleaned and they are very upset and agitated-- A combo of Novocain warring off and then the agitations like the have been vandalized-- I want to rip them out

My brain has been doing the same thing------super buzzy hooked up to a low voltage cattle prong--I want to rip it out---I am great full that the intensity comes and goes  -----But is very unsettling-- I re- read some of the information from the story "what is happening in your brain story.--------I am hoping it is just the nerves healing.    Here is a link if anyone is that reads this might find it helpful    What is happening in your brain?

Likewise, as a scab heals over a wound, the new skin forming underneath can become "itchy". Why does this occur? Why does a scab itch?

"The itch of a healing wound is caused by the growth of new cells underneath the old scab. New skin cells would be growing underneath, and as they form a new layer of skin, then the scab becomes more tightly stretched over this zone of activity. This can make it feel itchy. The itch sensation for burn survivors may be a tingling feeling caused by nerves re-growing, or from dry skin caused by the lack of natural oil production since oil glands may have been damaged or destroyed by the burn. As the nerves grow and start to receive and send messages, they may create that itchy feeling. The skin in this area will be a lot less thick than everywhere else, so these new nerve cells will be under a lot more pressure. Itching is a sign of healing." (Mayo Clinic)

I also have so extra stress going on------I am being throw back into situations that are triggering my trauma from childhood. It's triggering the all ready morphed neuro emotions of fear and sadness....  It is taking the rug out from under me..  Some really tough/ trigging things things going on this month... So hard to go through grief-trauma and WD at the same time.

So I guess in a nutshell I am trying to get through the days one minute.

Not sure if I should get angry about these drugs and what they do to you or crawl into a hole and cry.😓

@Heath  Thank you so much for the encouragement.....I don't think I can stay away from the stress.........2 big ones are  !- My fathers funeral is at the end of the month----- 2-We are selling our family house----Right now in WD I get over stimulated and it triggers childhood fears and behaviors. I think I went through a tough one last Sunday------ Hubby and I were back at the house with some of my other sibs and spouses to meet with the realtor, she had some offers..........It was hard but I am glad I went.....So now I just have to process and grieve........

@Greatful

I’m so sorry to read that you continue to struggle with awful symptoms.

I think of you often and pray that you get some much needed relief as you continue this journey. It’s can be very difficult when new symptoms pop up. One moment at a time.

Hugs,

Believer

2015 Straight switch to Wellbutrin by GP who claimed Zoloft stopped working; I was experiencing occasional brain zaps. 3 months later Wellbutrin  XR. Highly activating. Lost ability to sleep. Seroquel x3 nights. Horrible reaction. Straight switch back to Zoloft, began taper. Found SA  after tapering 25 mgs a week to 25mgs and began experiencing W/D.

@Greatful That sounds so tough to be coping with all those things plus the symptoms. Lots of changes happening at once, especially ones which involve a grieving process or are triggering, are always destabilising - nevermind with w/d on top. Thinking of you as I am also trying to cope with the loss of childhood family home.

Sept 2021 - CT sertraline 25mg. told it was a 'placebo dose', knew nothing about the dangers or mechanism of these drugs

Nov 2021 - Jan 2022 - failed reinstatement attempt which exacerbated symptoms as it gave me severe serotonin syndrome, unrecognised by doctors who told me to double my dose (!!!!). this was a very awful period, was still trying to work and go to uni, eventually had to quit everything & move back in with family. horrific 'altered reality' symptoms of dissociation, hallucinations, insomnia, chemical dread, racing heart, agitation, nausea, burning & more

Jan 14th 2022 - 0mg SSRI

Currently, 2023: in recovery from drug-induced neurological dysfunction/PAWS. only meds- 10mg amitriptyline at night.

Grateful,

I wish you forbearance and a bit of peace for your symptoms as you go through these griefs and the disturbing memories from the past.   Fair dues to you meeting the realtor - that must have been tough.

Thank you for all the help you gave me and so many other people on this site - I wanted to thank you on my own page but haven't felt like writing there in the past while.  You have such a huge  heart - I can see it in every word you write - you deserve good things.

My deepest sympathies to you on your loss.

Currently tapering Mirtazapine; previously tapered Cymbalta 30mg from June 2018-Feb 2019 and Seroquel 150mg to zero from Oct-December 2020.

Supplements for Hashimoto's disease and histamine issues relating to Mirtazapine:   Vitamin D3 1,000mcg, bio-identical HRT, Selenium, Quercetin, Lutein, Zinc, Vitamin C, Omega 3.

Mirtazapine Taper: 2021 16th Aug -  transitioned to liquid from tablet by dissolving two 15mg tablets into a solution of 15 ml water and 15 ml maple syrup on a starting dose of what I thought was 7.5ml; 17 Sept  - 7.31; 24 Sept  - 7.13; 15 Oct  - 6.95; 6 Nov  - 6.78; 21 Nov  - 6.61; 5 Dec  - 6.51;
