Today i have completed my first week on paxil solution. Everything is fine except inner restlessness which is present since july 2023 first day of my paxil. 

I have just read thread of adverse reaction where i read that medication cause adverse reaction should be wean off quickly.i was taking paxil with akathisia continously because my psychiatrist did not believe me now i am very worried if akathisia not go after tapering.

What should be my tapering rate because my case is rare i have adverse reaction. 

Please someone guide me about tapering rate. I have taken paxil only for six months including rough tapering

@Emonda my experience with lavender has been very great. But now i can,t even tolerate sugar caffeine etc. 

Akathisia is pure hell. I wish no one has to go through this

I go through times like that, too. I love coffee/chocolate, but sometimes they are counterproductive and I need to avoid them.

One thing i have noticed if i take paxil solution at 8pm then next day near around 8 pm before next dose my akathisia become fade

So you have noticed improvement after a week of taking the same dose at the same time each and every day? If so, this is positive.

I abruptly stopped an AD that I had an adverse reaction to years ago, but I had taken it for less than a week. I have read that the brain becomes dependent on an AD within 4 weeks, and you've taken it for 6 months. The risk with a rapid taper is very unpleasant WD symptoms. The question is, what's worse: the potential WD symptoms or the adverse reaction you describe. No one can answer that question.

 

I note LostinCanada waited 7 months for stability before tapering. She is now reducing much slower than the maximum of 10% per month.

 

If you have noticed an improvement over the past week, why not give it a little more time to see if there is further stability / improvement?

Yes my SI is much more better on regular doses. I am very thankfull to @LostInCanada who guided me. 

skiping dose gave me severe SI

Swtiching to paxil ir solution  from paxil cr and regular doses. Now i am feel stable. No more SI, no adrenaline rush ,physical pains. Except akathisia which i think will subside when paxil wean off@Emonda yes i will definitely wait for more one or two more weeks for further stability

The good news is that you have recognised you are in a wave.

 

Waves, whilst very unpleasant, are temporary.

 

Just like I said to LostinCanada, you will emerge on the other side of the wave with time. It's just part of the healing/recovery process.

I find a little exercise helps me when in a wave. I regularly exercise, but I increase it when feeling rotten. It brings me relief.

 

That said, if you don't exercise now, some people find that exercise can make them feel worse....so just try something gentle if it's new to you, and see how you respond.

Can akathisia occur without phyical/mental terror but with extreme internal agitation and restlessness ???

 Yes, the key characteristic of akathisia is an inner tension/agitation that overflows with movement.

 

It may or may not be accompanied by terror.

 

I read through your thread and it seems that 1) you are stabilizing and 2) you feel better from the aka when the paxil is leaving your symptom.

 

I’d try to make a cut, perhaps a lower dose will greatly reduce your akathisia.

 

Hold on tight, you will be okay, we all will.

I am on one mg still have akathisia which start at 3 pm.

In December i quit cold turkey my inner akathisia gone very next day. I feel like my old self for 6 days then after week withdrawals starts anf i have to back reinstate at lower dose

I am stuck 

Here members and moderators are very nice they guide me from the very first day i will be very thankfull if you also help me in my this journey

Today is my Innerrestless is much much better but when at 9 pm i took my kolonopin my anxiety become worse i don't know whether it is a wave or tolerance to benzo which i taking from six months

In july 2023 One pill of lexapro gave me severe akathisia with extreme terror(highly S)  then after two days i took paxil and kolonopin and my terror calm.but paxil gave me 

That's mean paxil has been masking my akathisia (terror) since 5 months but still paxill giving me inner agitation at worst level just lift my terror.  I am afraid if when i wean off paxil then my previous monster akathisia will come back

Should i skip one day kolonopin for checking whether it is tolerance from benzo or waves form paxil

@Belajazi do not ever skip a dose of anything. The combination of drugs you are on are not the greatest together. Are you still moving the paxil forward each day? What time are you at now with it? Let's just get that drug moved to 11am. Once that happens, I think waiting a week and then we will see what symptoms are happening and decide how to move forward. 

Remember akathasia, panic, etc are all WD symptoms as well not necessarily an adverse reaction so a bit of consistent dosing will help figure this out.

@LostInCanada i have akathisia with extreme terror from adverse reaction in july 2023 from one pill of lexapro then paxil and kolonopin lift the terror but unbearable Innerrestless and agitation still present 

Yes i am moving the drug to 11am and today is my 9th dose of paxill solution.

My pharmacist told me to skip doses to taper. Fortunately, I had read here it was not a good idea. If it were not for this site, I may have blindly followed the advice 😬

@Emonda Thank God you are aware of the danger of skip doses at right time 

Thses sufferings are just in my fate i don't know how long i have to bear these sufferings. 

Just one pill lexapro ruined my life

I need suggestion after switching to paxil solution almost 2 week complete. Everything is stable except akathisia.

When should i start my taper??

Hi Belajazi,

I'd be in no hurry to start tapering. You really need to be confident you are stable. That wave you mentioned the other day must still be pretty fresh for you. And it was not long ago you were in a bad way.

 

Back at the start of my tapering journey, I went too fast and caused myself some grief. Once stable, I waited ~5 months before tapering. I read a comment from someone on here that you can't run a marathon with a broken leg or sprained ankle. You don't want to start your tapering marathon if you aren't completely right.

 

I think LostinCanada waited ~7 months before tapering.

 

Why not hold your dose and reassess how you feel in 6-8 weeks?

 

We are all different and make our own decisions...but I hope sharing my experience helps.

@Emonda your every single word is right i know that slow and steady wins the race but in the case then when you are on medicine for years and just want to taper

but paxil give me akathisia for first day how can i take pill for long time which injur my brain.Every thing is stable except akathisia 

I know you all want better for me. 

But this akathisia is just like feel death in every single sec. 

I hope you understand.

@Emonda you said right i should wait because today was one of my worst day thats mean i am not stable now.  i don't know why daily my symptoms changes .

Today is worst akathisic day ,extreme internal vibration shakiness and restlessness  extreme drowsiness, brain fog etc

I am feeling like i am going insane

It's the nature of withdrawal from these drugs. They aren't rational, anything goes.

I can honestly say I am still stabilizing after 15 months because of going cold turkey. Emonda has got it right with slow and steady.

I can honestly say I am still stabilizing after 15 months because of going cold turkey. Emonda has got it right with slow and steady. 

@LostInCanada How long should i wait for taper? 

akathisia will not calm how long i wait for stability. 

Day by day my symptoms becoming worst and unbearable. 

Last question 

When should i start my taper???

2-kolonopin does not work now

3-after taking kolonopin i became more restless and anxiety increases 100*

@Belajazi when I read your drug signature this is what I see:

Akathisia since at least July 23. Paxil was not the start of it, the source of it may be prozac or sertaline and since many pills were added and taken away, this caused a huge problem for your CNS. Then you were on paxil for 2 months and did a way too fast taper causing more upset. Then a reinstatement in January of 3.125 mg, then skipped doses till February. Your body has been so beat up by irregular, inconsistent doses and multiple drugs.

After at least this time your body will have figured some of this out and you will be in a better position to consider tapering. Also as it stands it seems the Klonopin is being problematic but it again might be your body trying to adapt to the Klonopin working with regular doses of paxil and pregabalin.

@LostInCanada yes this could be possible because before paxil solution i have no problem with kolonopin infact it gave me relieve. 

And i know you and emonda saying to wait more for my benefit. I also want to wait at least a month 

But the main reason is sufferings are unbearable. 

I hope you understand me.

Today symptoms 

Wake up at 11 am 

1 pm breakfast 

2 pm uneasiness, anxiety ,ocd

3 pm heightened anxiety, extreme cognitive issue, memory issue, unbearable extreme extreme drowsiness

The thought of brain permanent damage and will i able to recover makes me restless

after switching to paxill solution i have extreme head pressure.
