I wouldn't do any more than that, as you may develop a dependency or it may turn paradoxical, making things worse for you by ramping up anxiety. You may want to take it at least 2 hours from the mirtazapine and any sedating supplement, as that can make a paradoxical reaction more likely. I would keep everything else the same for now. It's okay to stop tapering and hold for a long time. Please take good care of yourself as much as possible right now. Rely on your family and friends to get you through this. You can return to your taper when you feel up to it, no rush. Just do what you need to do right now. Link to comment

Now going to 16.25 from 8/7/22. 7% drop Oxazepam 10mg.STOPPED 10th FEB 2022 “Rescue dose x 2 in 2 months. Buccastem 3mg less than 1 a month for nausea. Just don't take it too many days as you will become dependent on it as @Shepsaid. Then if you can hold on take your escitalopram at normal time. I hope you have a support team set up to help you. Liquid Lexapro Nov, 2016 to 31-March, 2019 Lexapro free!!! (total Lexapro taper was 4 years-started with pill form) ---CURRENT MEDICATIONS:Supplements:Milk Thistle, Metamucil, Magnesium Citrate, Vitamin D3, Levothyroxine 25mcg, Vitamin C, Krill oil. Xanax 1mg 3x day June, 2000 to 19-September, 2020 Went from .150 grams (average weight of 1 Xanax) 3x day to .003 grams 3x day. April 1, 2021 went back on 1mg a day. Started tapering May 19, 2023. July 28, 2023-approximately .87mg. Dr. fast tapered me at the end and realized he messed up. Prescribe it again and I am doing "slower than a turtle" taper. 19-September, 2020 Xanax free!!! Can you drink some protein shakes? Just try to get something in your stomach. Some peanut butter and crackers, cheese, soup, juice, just something. Don't be afraid to take the klonopin if you need it. Hang in there and get all the support at this point you can. We are thinking of you and your kids. My children and I need them so badly, especially my son who performed CPR on his daddy and cannot get the vision out of his head. When I thought I could not bare dealing with my withdrawals then my husband of 20 years would pass right before my eyes. This is the hardest thing I've ever dealt with in my life. He was my biggest support during the past 6 months when all these withdrawals, side effects, covid, and pure hell started. He held my hand day after day, hour after hour. He completely understood and would read every bit of information so he could understand what exactly I'm going through and what he needed to do to comfort me. Now I feel like I'm a burden to my kids, but I have to be strong for them. My GOD has pulled me closer than ever before. He is now my biggest support for myself and my children. I am learning that he is bigger than any mountain, any pain, and loss. I also realize that I have support from this site. You all are my family and I need you so please keep in touch. I haven't decided yet on starting my taper again, but hopefully will in a few weeks. I have a question: Do the withdrawal symptoms get better with each lower taper? Again...thank you, please continue praying for my family. Valium, Gabapentin, Lamictal, Prilosec and Zantac from 2000 to 2015 with a fast taper by a psychiatrist. Liquid Lexapro Nov, 2016 to 31-March, 2019 Lexapro free!!! (total Lexapro taper was 4 years-started with pill form) ---CURRENT MEDICATIONS:Supplements:Milk Thistle, Metamucil, Magnesium Citrate, Vitamin D3, Levothyroxine 25mcg, Vitamin C, Krill oil. Xanax 1mg 3x day June, 2000 to 19-September, 2020 Went from .150 grams (average weight of 1 Xanax) 3x day to .003 grams 3x day. April 1, 2021 went back on 1mg a day. Started tapering May 19, 2023. July 28, 2023-approximately .87mg. Dr. fast tapered me at the end and realized he messed up. Prescribe it again and I am doing "slower than a turtle" taper. 19-September, 2020 Xanax free!!! My children and I need them so badly, especially my son who performed CPR on his daddy and cannot get the vision out of his head. I know I am feeling grief, but I also am so weak, frontal head pressure, nausea, lethargic, dizziness, like I could pass out, panic attacks, restlessness. I have been at same 4.0ml for the past 3 weeks, not feeling any better...if I decreased any would it help? It's hard to tell if your's will improve or not. Right now, your body is still in shock so I would wait a little while longer before trying a taper at this point. You might find some tips in this: Digestive problems: Nausea, Diarrhoea, Bloating, GERD 1 PREVIOUS medications and discontinuations: Have been on medications since 1996. I have been all the years I've been taking and since I went off lexapro. Try it and see. That is the only way we can see how or if things will affect us. Others may have more input. Some small discomfort. 25 mg Zoloft - Start date 5-1-2014. 50mg. 6-2014. through 7-14-2014 . Started tapering 7-14-2014, stopped tapering 10-2014. I did 1/4 of the dose a month. small discomfort. These next 3 were prescribed when I made some seriously bad choices with my thyroid medication. Was in ER twice for possible heart attack. INTENSE anxiety, panic, fear. Lost 30 pounds in 2 weeks. Thyroid levels bounced to extremes for 8 months. Dr. prescribed Zoloft 50mg 9-2105. After 2 doses had a bad reaction passed out in my bedroom. Also prescribed Xanax .025 at the same time. 3 times daily, 4 if needed. Was only on it about 2 weeks. Was not working. Trip ER they gave me an Ativan IV and it worked and lasted. switched to Ativan. 9-24-2016. 1.5 mg Ativan - .5 mg three x daily -start date 9/24/16. Attempted taper start 12-16-2016. Was shaving Pills and alternating tapering AM, PM and midday dose weekly. Buspar .5mg -2.5mg. am and 2. 5mg. pm start date 9-26-2016 . Lexapro .10mg start date - 10-26-2016. Found SA and began 10/14/2017 tapering .001 by weight of pill every 4 days Held longer if there were was WD. Was very sensitive to Ativan. 3-15-2018 Off midday dose - 7-16-2018 Off PM dose - OFF ATIVAN! 11-17-2018 10 mg. Lexapro. PM - 5 mg start date 10/11/2016 increased to 10 mg 2/2/17. 1-1-2019 Began tapering Lexapro. .001 gm every 4 days. Held longer if there was WD. Last doses some I held a month. OFF LEXAPRO! 2-21 2021 5 mg. Buspar divided into two, 2.5 mg doses AM and PM- Start date 9/26/2016 Cold turkey on Dr. direction, AM and Pm doses. Reinstated 9-22-16. Began Buspar taper 1-29-23, .001 mg by weight of pills. N.P. Desiccated Thyroid. 1-2023 Labs okay but not where I feel best. 60 mg. daily now but adding 15 mg. more twice weekly for a few months then check. Bioidentical hormones. I keep saying, if I didn't have this withdrawal condition I could deal with my loss easier, but i have to keep reminding myself that God is walking with me and he will never leave my side. My head is so dizzy, I'm frightened by the thought of being in my kids presence, also needing to take care of finances without my husband. I've had nonstop panic attacks all day. Nearly passed out while trying to drive. I'm a mess!! I just feel like I can't breath and keep yawning, chills, shakes, back pain. When will I have a window, I have no energy. Am I having withdrawals or side effects from escitalopram or Mirtazapine? Will a decrease help, because these symptoms are horrid. If I'm going to suffer like this I miles well suffer while decreasing. Plus I've got phantosmia. I had many of those symptoms and I was not in withdrawal or on any medication. But you have both. I am so sorry you are going through this . Do not reduce, I would wait before tapering. Altostrata and Frogie can direct when that time comes. Make sure you eat and drink water. This is very important, it was one of the hardest things for me to do after I lost my husband. Do not push yourself. When you can just lay down even if you cannot sleep do so, read a book watch TV distract yourself. I know it's horrible but it will not last forever. Hugs and prayers. .025 Xanax 3 x daily Start date 10-13-2013 through 8-13-2014. Started tapering 6-2014 to 8-2014. Some small discomfort. 25 mg Zoloft - Start date 5-1-2014. 50mg. 6-2014. through 7-14-2014 . Started tapering 7-14-2014, stopped tapering 10-2014. I did 1/4 of the dose a month. small discomfort. These next 3 were prescribed when I made some seriously bad choices with my thyroid medication. Was in ER twice for possible heart attack. INTENSE anxiety, panic, fear. Lost 30 pounds in 2 weeks. Thyroid levels bounced to extremes for 8 months. Dr. prescribed Zoloft 50mg 9-2105. After 2 doses had a bad reaction passed out in my bedroom. Also prescribed Xanax .025 at the same time. 3 times daily, 4 if needed. Was only on it about 2 weeks. Was not working. Trip ER they gave me an Ativan IV and it worked and lasted. switched to Ativan. 9-24-2016. 1.5 mg Ativan - .5 mg three x daily -start date 9/24/16. Attempted taper start 12-16-2016. Was shaving Pills and alternating tapering AM, PM and midday dose weekly. Buspar .5mg -2.5mg. am and 2. 5mg. pm start date 9-26-2016 . Lexapro .10mg start date - 10-26-2016. Found SA and began 10/14/2017 tapering .001 by weight of pill every 4 days Held longer if there were was WD. Was very sensitive to Ativan. 3-15-2018 Off midday dose - 7-16-2018 Off PM dose - OFF ATIVAN! 11-17-2018 10 mg. Lexapro. PM - 5 mg start date 10/11/2016 increased to 10 mg 2/2/17. 1-1-2019 Began tapering Lexapro. .001 gm every 4 days. Held longer if there was WD. Last doses some I held a month. OFF LEXAPRO! 2-21 2021 5 mg. Buspar divided into two, 2.5 mg doses AM and PM- Start date 9/26/2016 Cold turkey on Dr. direction, AM and Pm doses. Reinstated 9-22-16. Began Buspar taper 1-29-23, .001 mg by weight of pills. N.P. Desiccated Thyroid. 1-2023 Labs okay but not where I feel best. 60 mg. daily now but adding 15 mg. more twice weekly for a few months then check. Bioidentical hormones. But I just felt sick and unwell which felt like withdrawal. I took time off from work and I just rested my body and mind. you have a double whammy right now with tapering and the loss. I also feel like crying is such a good release. So whenever you can do that, let it all out. Lean on your kids. Lean on each other. Breathe…breathe a lot. Does the Mirtazapine allow you to sleep? Sleep is where we heal the most. I focus on that. June 9th 2021 Mirtazapine 7.5 mg June 24th Mirtazapine 11.25 mg Oct 25th tapered 16% and had major withdrawals on day 4. I rub it on my belly and it gives me tingles which gives me something to focus on as well as the smell which helps take the edge off everything. I will lay down and elevate my legs which calms the nervous system. If you can look into restorative yoga, it puts the body in a parasympathetic state which is what your body needs to be calm.
